  1. One word, my man- Plastics! Easy Does It
  2. I think the most bizzarre skydiving dream I've ever had was just a couple nights ago - I dreamt my wife Sharon (A ground-hugging whuffo to the max-) walked into the room and announced she would to a tandem - I immediately began asking other folks if I was dreaming, I must be dreaming, there is no way I could be awake because there is no way Sharon will ever jump- Then I woke up - I told Sharon about it and she was laughing so hard! (There really is no way in hell she will ever jump - I've got a truckload of beer bet on it, that no one will ever be able to persuade her.) Easy Does It
  3. Pet - Duke Street - Columbus Ave - Duke Columbus? Almost sounds plausable - Easy Does It
  4. Going on 41 years so far- no problems yet - I'll keep on living as long as I can, then fuck it - Trade it all in for a metal detector on some beach somewhere? Yeah, right - Just as soon as I yank my own front teeth out with a pair of vise-grips. I hope some one puts me out of my misery before I wind up in a nursing home or some shit. Easy Does It
  5. No, I wouldn't be doing it because everybody would be doing it - it would be like golf - and I can't stand golf - One of the things that makes us so unique is we take an extreme risk and manage it very effectively. Now take note of my signature line - Easy Does It
  6. Mine was born in '97 - s/n 00175 - Easy Does It
  7. Doobie Brothers- 1978 Easy Does It
  8. It's simple - Jump as much as the four/five of you can afford to. be as competitive as you can be, and jump as hard as you can. That's my philosophy as a a rookie, anyways- Easy Does It
  9. Word, my friend!! Easy Does It
  10. It really screws with your head- And it has other physiological effects, too. Many of them resemble bad side effects from cheaply manufactured over-the-counter drugs, which are only available outside the US. Just ask any guy who's been married for any length of time! Easy Does It
  11. 160 some-odd jumps - I still log, don't know if I'll ever stop. Most entries are semi-detailed, pretty much what I did, who I did it with, plane, location, altitude - One of these days I'll stop and add up the freefall time. (when I need it for my D or whatever-) I am getting lazy in that I may not log until the end of the day, or sometimes the day after. It would be cool for my grandkids (which I have none of so far- knock on wood-) to find my old logbooks in a dusty box someday - Hop up in the rocking chair with me and listen to the boring old cutaway stories- Easy Does It
  12. - -Take a good look at my icon pic, and tell me if I bear a resemblance to Dennis Quaid. Some folks think I do-- Easy Does It
  13. The voices in my head that keep me company-- Easy Does It
  14. I should be able to meet the requirements by September 30, but if I don't, I don't think I'm going to sweat it much- I need like 45 more jumps, night jumps, and some good accurate landings- Easy Does It
  15. I'll be buying my copy of the IRM soon (maybe next week-) and I'll take a look at the requirements - Around here it's usually a 2-day course, with check jumps, so I figure on livivng at the DZ the whole weekend. I'm not sure how Skydive U's course is run. If you look on the USPA website, it lists all the courses that are planned so far, where, when, etc. I'm not sure which one I'll be attending yet. Easy Does It
  16. See your rigger - I bet he/she can whip up a set in no time- Easy Does It
  17. I also plan on becoming a coach - I haven't picked up a copy of the IRM yet but do have a SIM and my C license in-hand. in the meantime, I'm captain of our Rookie skydiving team, and we've been doing alot of 4-way stuff with some of the better/best jumpers at our DZ. Working our butts off, with specific goals set both as a team and individually. By the end of this season, the six of us (four and two alternates) should show some really dramatic skill improvements. (Most of us have already-) One of my goals is to become a coach, and to that end devote as much time and effort to improving my skills and helping what I can to improve the skills of my teammates. While I haven't got the resources to go spend tons of time in the tunnel, I do strive to get everything I can out of each jump, wether it's a hard-core training jump or a zoo load BFR, and to jump as often as my time/money/work and Mother Nature allows. We get as many jumps as we can on video, all of us get copies, and watch them at home or where ever. I'm also taking note (without being nosey-) of how different people give advice, guidance, etc. not only to us but to others. Easy Does It
  18. Shit. I sort of read the waiver for my first tandem, and signed and initialed and all that crap. Last time I signed that much paperwork thay packed my ass up and shipped me to boot camp. Now I just glance over it all very quickly, 'cuz I'm in a hurry to get my butt to Manifest! Easy Does It
  19. I jump- and try to keep a balance - My wife is 100% whuffo- But she does understand a little about the sport- and hasn't denied me - yet - But I have made up my mind I will not quit jumping - Wether or not we stay together, I'll always jump. What better therapy for a cutaway than some good skydives, right? And if your SO really loves you for who you are, and you are a skydiver, why would they deny you your passion? Seems logical to me. Easy Does It
  20. Blues, -- and Black- A man who truly lived bravely. My most sincere condolences to the family, all his friends, the community as a whole- His presence will be sorely messed, but the again perhpas it will be felt in a different way on the next jump we all make. It is a sad evening. Easy Does It
  21. You don't know how much I would like to be able to get there this weekend! Meeting up with you and Chris wouldn't be so bad, either! Easy Does It
  22. Refresh my memory- Who was OC last night? Don't get too flustered until we jump again and I'm back on OC. I'll have some things to share with you before we jump on presentation. Easy Does It
  23. 1- Chicagoland Skydiving and Skydive Chicago for all the MWSL meets - 2- A couple trips to Western NY to pick up and drop off my kiddoes, and visit some old friends - Hopefully make a stop at Frontier Skydiving for a jump or three- 3- If all goes as planned, RANTOUL!!!! 4 - Trip to Orlando to use the tunnel time my 4-way team and I have begun to accumulate (10 minutes so far-) 5 - Kill plenty of brain cells, using any one of several different methods- 6- Hopefully make good use of some of these raging hormones--- Hope to see some of you around!! Easy Does It
  24. About 10-15 minutes I guess- Never really timed myself - Maybe faster, since I've started psychopacking - my Spectre 150 - I've got about 125 or so jumps and pack jobs on this canopy, which I've had since student status. Easy Does It
  25. Scott Miller just did a class at our DZ and will be back again in Spetember - I didn't get in in this one but will be there for Septembers' class, without a doubt. Easy Does It
