I've been jumping each winter since I started three years agon, in Wisconsin -- A word on full-face helmets and frosting, etc. - Wear your helmet like you should during takeoff, but pull it off during the climb to keep your head from sweating up. Also, if you choose to wear a full-face, get one you can open the visor very easily on. ( Z-1) Leave it open until just before exit, and frosting problems should be minimal. Open it after opening your canopy, and enjoy the brisk air on your face. Gloves - I just found a company called Ironclad that makes a glove called ZeroPlus, that is the schiznit glove. the website is www.iclad.com They rock!! THE BEST WINTER JUMP GLOVE! Thin Layers- YEP! Like Aggie said!!! Military Polypro is the best. Not sexy, but it works! Oh, and switch to sneakers instead of Tevas. Snow between the toes kinda sucks. Easy Does It

Perfectly Good Airplane Crap

One asshole at work kept asking me if I still jump, in a very annoying fashion. So last time he asked me in front of a few co-workers (who don't really dig his shit-) I told him "Yeah, I am, are you still masturbating in the locker room?" He doesn't ask me any more. Easy Does It -
I find this interesting - I've been jumping a Z-1 for over two hundred jumps now and have had no problem at all with the collar coming unglued. What I enjoy the most about the Z-1 is the ease of opening and closing the faceplate. I can flip it open with one hand in a split second as part of my post-deployment "housekeeping" and clear my ears, then flip it closed again. Easy Does It

I thought I was going to see the pic of myself and Jedei passed out in the clubhouse! Easy Does It

0:6:3 Went to Wissota with Indyz and about 18 others from SkyKnights, and we basically took the place over. Hats off the folks at Wissota! These guys gave us the warmest welcome, and showed us the best time. Who says a DZ can't rock without a tubine?? Missed the camper on the pumpkin toss by about 30 feet. Multi-Cessna loads ROCK! Wissota people know how to party like rock stars. We loaded up the Gang Green bus Saturday night and proceded to terrorize about six different bars. Took me all day Sunday to recover, hence the reletively low jump number. Made a bunch of very cool new friends, and will be back again many times to party with these folks! Sarah made a bunch of cash packing this weekend, too. I really needed a weekend like this! Easy Does It

13,500 with the King or Otter, 10,500 to 12,500 in the Cessna, (which just got a new engine w/turbocharger and three-blade prop this spring). Easy Does It

0:2:0 Spent Saturday morning working and stacked up the firewood that was delevered to the house while I was working. Took my daughter shopping, she got a t-shirt for herself, we found a Texas Chainsaw Massacre T-shirt for the wife (She LOVES blood and gore movies!) Got myself a pair of Wolf Racing gloves for jumping this winter. Later the three of of went to see Intolerable Cruelty. It's a renter, folks! Got up to the DZ Sunday to find out King was broken (Governor cable on the #1 engine) So we flew 14 loads out of the C-182 - I got on two with our 4-way team, and we practiced turning blocks, (Zig-zag/Marquis). Need to figure out how to keep the pieces from drifting apart so much. Beautiful day!! Easy Does It

0:3:1 Tried to get some Sunrise jumps going, half a dozen of showed up at the DZ with a pilot, but were fogged in. Got the first load of the day up around 8:30 instead of 6:45 like we had planned. Got two more jumps in on a take-it easy, no-rushing-to-make-the-the-next-load kind of day. Got home around 5-ish and had my fresh D-license waiting for me!! (BEER!) Spent Sunday looking for the top of the workbench out in the garage, and found it, along with some sections of the floor I haven't seen in a while. I found the floor on the passenger side of my truck, too. It's amazing how many Red Bull cans accumulate in such a short period of time. Going to try to get a jump or two in during the week, as I'll be nailing a new roof on my house next weekend. (Gotta do it!) Easy Does It

Come and jump with us anytime- Our 4-way team typically breaks between 4k and 4.5. In competition you've only got 35 seconds working time anyway, and half the fun is the canopy ride, so why cheat yourself? You won't find too many at our DZ giving you flack for wanting to break where you like to. Easy Does It

Late into this thread - Really late - I really can't say anything that hasn't already been said - I've been married twice, divorced once, and been in a handful of semi-serious dating relationships in between. And if any of y'all know me at all, the second time married ain't a cakewalk right now. I've got just as many strong points and faults as the next guy - I will never, ever claim to be perfect. My advice to anyone - If you're considering marriage - Stay engaged for at least a year, preferably longer, before you set a date. And make sure you know yourself beforehand. I mean REALLY know yourself. Wish I realized all that long ago!! Easy Does It

No pics, but our club (SkyKnights SPC) owns a C-182 with a new turbocharged engine, (Climbs as fast as a King Air or Otter up to a few thousand feet - Sweet for quick hop-n-pops) We had an Otter for most of this season before it succumbed to engine problems, so a King Air fills the gap, but getting an Otter in from SDC or CSD is not much trouble when we need it. We usually have a Casa up here two to three times a year, too. This summer has been cool with impromptu balloon jump opportunities, which I haven't the chance to take advantage of, yet. Easy Does It

I Believe! Yes I Do!!! Really!!! I BELIEVE I'M GOING TO HAVE SOME MORE BEERS!!!!! WooHoo!!!! Tell me how much I owe and put me on the next load! Easy Does It

I'm a reletive newbie to serious 4-way myself, having competed in the MWSL in Rookie class this summer, in OC. As well as working with the team and getting some great tips at the local meets, I would tell myself "titties in the wind" during the exit. Worked for me! Easy Does It

Some define "cheating" in different ways, but we're not here to get into semantics - I've been both the "cheated" and the "cheater" in the typical definition - I'm no angel. There's as many reasons for some one to "cheat" as there are people. And as many reactions. Most of the time it hurts like hell. Sometimes it comes as a big relief, beleive it or not. For some it's like taking that first step off the aircraft. (Remember that?) What would be the difference (if any) between a drawn-out torrid love affair, and an evening of drunk indescretion? For you who have been less than faithful, what did it feel like the morning after? How did you face your SO afterwards? Was it "worth it" for the both of you? Not looking for answers neccesarily, just some food for thought. Easy Does It

Late into the thread - I don't subscribe any particular religion or any God for that matter, but to each his own, unless you start killing children or some stupid shit in the name of your God. There have been more people killed in the name of some God or some religion than for any other reason. And all these religions that preach peace and good will and love thy neighbor, then kill them. Personally I feel religion is for the weak-minded. Easy Does It

1:3:0 1 Static Line FJC sat in on in preparation for my Coach rating - Will try teaching in the following weeks - 3 jumps - all RW - Saturday - Spent Sunday putting stuff away and getting the yard ready for winter - Time to get a stack or two of firewood in for those nice toasty fires this winter. And I should be getting ready to start brewing some more beer, too. Easy Does It

Very well said - Skydiving isn't something we do. Skydiving is what we are, individually and as a group. And having whuffo friends requires to much work. Easy Does It
