  1. OK - No one else said it so I will- Women are evil. I have two living in the house here with me. (My wife and my daughter from my 1st marriage-) When just one is home, things are peaceful. When both are here, a dark cloud envelopes the place even on the most sunny day and my life becomes a living hell. Too much estrogen, or has a portal to the bowels of Hell opened up? Slightly more serious though - Good/Evil, or Right/Wrong? Yin/Yang etc etc - Do we ourselves, as a result of our particular social/political/spiritual/religious environment and upbringing define our own good/evil and or right/wrong? Drinking for example, for certain Christain demoninations is wrong/evil, while for other Christians is OK. And then there's my daughter. She screws up and does something way wrong, like cutting classes or something. So when it comes time to explain her actions, she says "I made a mistake" or "it was an accident" (I don't see how you can "accidentally" cut a class-) I beg to differ - She knows the difference between what is right and what is wrong. There fore she made a deliberate decision to do wrong. Where would the "evil" com into play here? Did "evil" (as a supernatural force-) make her choose wrong, or the desire to spend the afternoon hanging out at the pizza joint with her boyfriend? (teenage hormones as an evil force-) Is hanging out at the pizza joint with her boyfriend "evil"? Sorry if that all seems way oversimplified, but I'm just layman - And this post is just slightly serious!
  2. I too am reluctant to go see the doc - I usually don't get very sick as far as colds and stuff go, and when I do I prefer to try to let my body fight it off rather that run to the sawbones at the first sniffle. My theory is let your immune system do it's job, and over time it gets stronger. I have a sister who must run to the doctor at least once a month, and is always telling me about all these great new pills out on the market- Jeez! Now, when I heard that popping sound coming from my ankle when I was landing a couple weeks ago - That was a different story. Nineteen days till the cast comes off! WooHoo! Hey Cora - Red dress or Black dress? Easy Does It
  3. Apparently the campaign was put on hold - Lycos' program was shutting some sites down, which wasn't thier intention. I guess the program was working a little too well? Easy Does It
  4. And you can email your creation to friends - Let some one know that you're thinking of them! Easy Does It
  5. This is too much fun- And I have too much time on my hands that I'm looking for sites like this! http://www.calumm.uklinux.net/vdsc/index.php Have Fun!! Easy Does It
  6. OK I have the answer Cora - I'll be at Sky Knights Saturday afternoon. Bring all the dresses, try them on for us and we'll help you make an informed decision! You can help me decide what to wear to the SK party that will complement this nice cast, too. Problem solved! If that's not possible, wear the black dress if repairable, if not then the red. You will look stunning in either! Easy Does It
  7. Bear in mind this funneled jump was 242 jumps and about two years ago - In addition to a more suitable jumpsuit I've gotten more practice and guidance on bigger-way jumps, just as you suggest. Easy Does It
  8. I was wearing a rather snug RW suit and was one of the last out of the plane - So by the time the rest of the formation and got together they had slowed down alot and I couldn't flatten out enough. Oh yeah - I learned alot over time and through a polite but to-the-point debriefing afterwards- I soon ordered a baggier suit/ swoop cords to slow my 180 pound frame down a bit- Easy Does It
  9. I have about 2 hours desk work a day, so it would be hard for me to milk that out to 8 hours - Actually I don't want to burn all my vacation time for next year! but looks like I'll have no choice - I can take time off without pay, though. Easy Does It
  10. Let's see - Jump # 16 (Static line progression-) Learning to track - Went tumbling - lost altitude awareness - FXC fired at about 1200 feet - Became a poster child for altitude awareness. Jump number 60 - Packed my rig on a Friday night with a three-beer-buzz going - Result = Cutaway on the first jump on a beautiful Saturday morning. Jump # 100 - Took out the base on a 12-way - Learned the value of baggy jumpsuits on bigger formations. Jump # 342 -Broke left ankle (Tib & Fib) - Uphill landing in light winds with a 1.36:1 wingloading wearing hiking boots (I normally wear fairly slick-soled sneakers-). Still recovering with 1 plate and 8 screws resident. Easy Does It
  11. Thanks so much for the support - ! Right now my diet is fairly light, and low-carb also. I've been able to avoid eating out of boredom - (So I'm working on building up my PW skills -) and I'm drinking 3-4 glasses of lowfat milk each day along with a bottle or two of water. Can't return to work yet due to the nature of my job - (Industrial Mechanic-) But I'm begging my boss to find something desk-bound for me to do somewhere!! Easy Does It
  12. 45 min to Sky Knights SPC (East Troy, WI) 1-1/2 hours to Chicagoland Skydiving (Hinckley, IL) 2 hours to Skydive Chicago (Ottawa, IL) I jump mostly at Sky Knights - Easy Does It
  13. Just had to bump this one back up - Saw the sawbones on Friday and got the staples pulled out - My leg looked like it had an industrial-grade zipper installed on it. All but a few of the staples came out nicely. A few stung a bit - I'll have a nice 4 to 5 inch scar on the outside of my leg now. I've got a new blue cast on my leg now and it's gonna be with me until the 22nd of December. My leg is really beginning to atrophy like crazy. I fear gaining alot of weight in the interim. Question is, what the hell can I do to counteract the effects of a highly sedentary convalescence? Pain is temporary. Wounds heal. Chicks dig scars. Easy Does It
  14. A big handful of those bearer bonds stashed in the safe - Or as many of those Krugerrands as I could get before the place vaporized - Easy Does It
  15. Well, if I weren't skydiving I'd be building choppers. Not a sport, but a whole 'nuther lifestyle just the same- Easy Does It
  16. I was there for all three of my kids' births. It's totally different when it's your loved one, your kids. Absolutely the best moments of my life, bar none. Hearing thier cry for the first time, and holding them afterwards - Totally indescribable, and totally fantastic. Easy Does It

  23. Yes! It is a lot better now but better not at all - Cest la vie - I had to laugh and call Beer when the nurse in the ER said this was the first skydiver she'd ever worked on. Easy Does It
  24. Thanks, man. Last ime I had a major break was at age 8. I busted both bones in my right arm rollerskating. Yeah, I'm frustrated as all hell right now. It's seems to be in a painful in all posistions mode, especially if I get up tp move around. I'm going to send my daughter out for a wireless thingy for my laptop so I can PW from the living room. Feel free to use the Chicks Digs Scars - I stole it from some one else myself, so wtf! Later folks! Easy Does It
