  1. We've been leasing turbines for the summer season for several years now- First a King Air for a couple years, then an Otter and last year a Caravan. I think the way the numbers are working out we may be able to purchase a PAC for less than leasing the Caravan, in addition to the lower operating cost.
  2. Haven't jumped one yet. We're considering one for our DZ. A couple folks are flying out to Cali to scope it out this month.
  3. Ahh - I see! Doesn't really sound apealing to the eye, actually. But you know what they say about beauty in the eye of the beholder! Around here, we have a small community of kids that think it's really cool to put huge, meaty tires on the back of something like a Neon. And I'm talking tires like you might put on the back of a Chevelle that'll do low 12 in in the 1/4 mile. It looks really, really bad. Not to mention it must make the car handle like a pig with three legs. To each his own, I suppose!
  4. Brilliant! - Next time I travel abroad I'll need to grab one! And study up on a little Canadian wit and wisdom, eh? Easy Does It

  9. Expect a big difference. Enjoy it. Your tracking will improve big-time! With practice you'll be able to fly so much more with just your legs. Have fun, booties rock! Easy Does It
  10. That's all I've ever used it for - (when I lived in Austin-) What was the name of that kickass marinade for fajitas? Easy Does It
  11. Many stock axles can't take the added gaff that oversize tires dish out especially once you start taking them off-road in a serious manner. Alot of us who did some semi-serious off-road work had two sets of tires, one for normal grocery-getting and the second set for going up in the woods. When you they these folks didn't put the 4x4 back in after the lift, you mean they left the front driveshaft out? Or did they pull the transfer case and go through all that trouble to make a 4x2 out of a 4x4? What I'm driving now is a Tacoma Prerunner. It's got extra ground clearance for the little bit that I do go off the beaten path and a locking rear diff. I don't do the 4-wheeling I used to, but I do carry some heavy machine parts and stuff. 12. Well, slaughtering Indians wasn't exactly a tasteful thing to do either. But they call a spade a spade. - The technology was developed primarily to massacre in wholesale lots. Easy Does It
  13. If it's done right it shouldn't be an issue, but raising a truck the right way entails alot more tha just adding springs and spacers - I'm sure AggieDave can go into further detail. I've only worked on a few lift jobs. But we do see alot of lift jobs done half-way or incorrectly and yes, u-joints go south quickly, and are often followed by axle and transfer case components. What drives me nuts are the yuppies who buy these big-ass trucks and they never carry anything heavier that a Starbucks coffee cup. We get that crap alot around the Chicago area. So no, it's not just a Cali thing, it seems to be a Yuppie thing. Some people will buy whatever the media tells them to. (edited because I can't spell for shit-) Easy Does It
  14. If you're running 3 182's back-to-backyou may really want to consider Caravan, also. We ran one last year with great success are we are also considering a PAC 750 for next year. Our year-round jump plane is a turbo 182. Easy Does It

  16. Well I was home form work today - And will be probably til the end of the year - Not for sickness but this damn busted ankle - But whenever I do get a cold/flu/whatever, I find whiskey helps fight it off. Two or three shots before you go to bed and throw and extra blanket on, and sweat it out. Works for me! Hope you feel better soon!! Easy Does It

  25. Nah, My job is pretty cool- Sure, I'm up at 5 AM, in the shop by 6 and often spend 10 or more hours there, but I get to work on all sorts of machines, help engineers solve problems, etc. Kinda like a scaled down version of Monster Garage sometimes. It can be quite stressful, but I learned that once I leave that place, the stress stays there, I try not to bring it home. At the same time, I endeavour not to bring home stress to work, either.
