    Hey everyone- A close friend of mine that I've known for over 20 years' youngest brother is in Iraq and will be spending his holiday there serving the country. He's pretty young and it wil be his first year away frm his family for the holiday. He's away knowing his father is ill and his sister is getting married. Needless to say, it's a rough time for him. My friend is asking for anyone with an extra holiday card or so to shoot it his way, a sort of holiday mail bomb to brighten his spirits. If anyone is interested in sending a card, I can relay the APO address via PM. He's serving in the airborne units over there. Thanks in advance. Stacy

    ZHills has a Chute N Shoot every year around easter I believe. from what I hear it's a blast.

    haha. guess what skydiving gear i got from my parents? a pair of goggles. my mom didn't want my contacts to fly out, since she had paid for them.

    I don't know, but I would assume the people frm Wings know where THEY got it from in the first place... I'd try calling them back....

    I believe from orlando I have used Americar and E-Z rent a car while 21 years old. there is a msall fee for being under 25, but it worked out. __

    also call ahead and let them know you're coming in specifically for AFF. It's generally good for the DZ to know your time frame and that you are there specifically for that purpose. either call or shoot the DZ an email. __

    I"d say he can't make you get it. I work in health care and it's optional. Some people are allergic to the shot (they say don't take it if you react to eggs), and some people get it and still get sick. __

    tampa intl is about 40 mins frm ZHills. Lots of people flying in over the holidays (december). give the DZ a call if you are interested and they may have rides available or people willing to give ya a lift. Worth a shot. Camping is free, the showers are wonderful and there are nightly dinners during the christmas/holiday boogie for like 6-7$. Hardly a need to leave the DZ, but if yo do there is a kmart/walmart within 5 miles. __

    2*:1:0 2 .commers to remain unnamed observed partaking in synchronized projectile puking at the fire (ZHills). 1 jump saturday. Had to wait till it warmed up, it was a chillly day in FL! warmed up today nicely, but sunday is hangover day, especially after a night of Aviatrrrr's rum punch margaritas or whatever they were. Jump was a HILARIOUS 6 way with eener, galen, the111, aviatrr, and dagny. Dagny will grow up to be a great flying Hellfish one day! ON a side note, I know nothing about the black smoke and missing fuels that may have been related to the bonfire. __

    you can actually get an oil change/tire rotation combo deal from places like firestone, jiffy lube, etc. that way everything gets done at once. My oil is changed every 3000 miles pretty much on the dot. Every 30K it needs to go to the shop for heavier maintenance, like spark plugs/tune up things. You shold also know how to check the air in your tires (if one looks flat, check it!) and add air if needed, and know how to check your fluids at the very least. A shop will charge you an arm and a leg to do that stuff and it's simple. I do it regularly and do not get dirty. I keep the jugs of fluids in my trunk and they are all different colors, it's pretty simple. __

    Yes, ZHills does midnight jumps on NYEve every year (climate permitting, of course) and has a ROCKING party. THere's a band, Janine serves up some dinner (with some dort of vegitarian alternative usually), there are 4-5 RW organizers and some FF Organizers as well, the pond which provides entertainment in itself, usually some pyrotechnics, and then if that's not enough the Finns are in town. New Years day is pretty rough. This year on NY day the event is "hangover hybrids."

    no family in the area and i have to work the day after (stoopid health care) so no travelling. We're having vagabound thanksgiving at a coworkers house. Should be interesting. ALthough I do think I shold get paid for the holiday without PTO time, since I"ll be spending it with my coworkers anyway.... __

    just an FYI about southwest, as i *thought* i found some good deals through them for the holidays and visiting family- when you try to book, they will show you the different fares for each flight, ranging from super discount or whatever up to fully refundable. UNLESS you can find matching fares (ie 2 super discount) for your flight to and from, you can't book the cheap fare. When I looked for the holidays i found cheap ones to BWI, but only the expensive ones back regardless of date. Even tried to book 2 one ways to get the cheap rate and they eliminate the cheap fares from one way travel. Kinda mean, I thought! __

    off topic, but FYI- SoBe is not in West Palm. Pahokee is the name of the town. MIght mislead some travelers who read this and try to take a cab from the airport to the DZ, in for a rude awakening! SoBe/Pahokee is about 40 mins from West Palm AIrport.

    teehee. my first date with galen involved multiple litres of amber bock at a musky karaoke bar on I-drive. we're such hopeless romantics.
