there was a big thread about this, a ctually several in different forums. search for skyride in here and you'll get others info too. they've made lots of mirror sites and there are many negative feelings about the skyride *scams.* I know cross keys was dealing with a fake site under hte name of "skydive philadelphia." __

one word. Krups. i've had a Krups espresso machine and currently have the cafe duomo that does coffee and espresso and steamed/frothed milk for cappachino. never a problem, extra parts liek new carafes if yo crack one are easy to find. As for gimmicks yo can get ones with timers so that your coffee will be ready at an appropriate time of morning for you and some are aroma proof so your whole house won't smell like coffee if you dont' like the smell. you can get krups stuff at bed bath and beyond along with normal stores. www.krups.com __

Actually, Kruse would probably take you on a CRW jump. He took me on my first one when I had around 50 jumps. He used a different rig to match my wing loading. I Believe my first one was on my old falcon, and I did a few more with my spectre. Kruse is awesome. during the mild winter and early spring where it tends to be a bit cloudy, lots of H&Ps going on- that's the perfect time to ask him. Tell him florida stacy says hi. __

I've been here since before '01, the profile date shows registration after the *first* revamping of these things. waaaay before PMs, emoticons, and avatars were even glimmers in sangiros eye! IMHO, things were much better back then. There was a core of regulars, no more than 50, who actively posted. No one got shot down for saying something, it was a very supportive community. Threads were about skydiving and related events, not what people had for dinner, politics, and forwarded email jokes posted on boards. I think back then everyone had pretty much met each other, not at large events, but people travelled to each other's DZs. Like Bytch said, I used to be a lot more personal in replies, etc then as well. the community WAS personal. I won't do that now, 50 people who knew my circumstances was one thing, 50,000, no thanks. I'm definitely not as active here as I was in those early days, and it's kinda upsetting that some of those old faces have disappeared. just my opinions, nothing more than that. __

we lit lots of stuff on fire, had JRAF riding a bike with the tires ablaze, made an easily 75 foot high bonfire with old wooden cable spools, ate prime rib and salmon, drank like vikings, lit more stuff on fire, drank at an SUV with a roof rack bar, brought 15 or so new rodriguez brothers into the world, skydived in 75-80 degree temperatures... it was an excellent time.

I'd recommend doing this trip in the late summer or spring or early fall. If you do it in the winter you may find a lot of places in the northeast have limited hours, etc, or may be closed all together (skydive-wise). Also check witht eh car rental companies about out of state driving and costs for returning at a different location. A lot of the rates have subclauses that will require the car to remain in state. They'll probably work with you, but good not to hide it from them. If you are looking at going to NYC I'd say LGA or JFK. LGA will fly you into Queens (not manhatten), but cabs and trains are readily available. I'm not sure where JFK is. Newark is sort of a hassle for travelling into the city unless you know the city pretty well. Did that this past fall and you end up taking an air train to an amtrak train and then connecting to the local subways, with gear and baggage, not too fun. My vote is to hit cross keys on your way down 95 through PA/Jersey (you can jump a chopper, biplane, skyvan, otter, etc etc etc there) and once in FL hit all the DZs. coming down 95 you can hit JAX first, then deland, cut over to ZHills across I4, the tunnel sits in the middle of ZHills and Deland, then go across 60 to Lake Wales, then Sebastian, Titusville is just north of Seb, then head south on 95 to SoBe then Miami. You can hit all the FL places in less than a week. __

i'm not upset. I"ll be in ZHills with my buds in 2 days. Home Sweet Home! Heather has already DDed me last evening, framing Bo for the deed. __

lots of $$, some jump tickets from my sister and galen's family, some gift cards for pier 1 and BBBeyond, a bonsai tree, wine bible, sweet new omlette pan, and if I can get bumped off my flight tomorrow, tickets to the Ravens game. Those tix are going for almost 500$ on ebay and in the paper! yahoo! __

the airports are not so horrible. I flew out of tampa this morning at the crack of dawn. NO problems with the security stuff, it didn't seem that bumped up witht eh exception of having to show my pass and ID more often. Moreso annoying were the crowds. and the fact that the wheel of my plane broke on landing and we were delayed 2 hours and the jetway didn't work so we had to taxi to another gate. ah well. __
