I learned to ski at Wisp in Deep Creek Lake MD http://www.skiwisp.com/season/winter/mountain.html#3 the beginner trails are nice and long (1.5 miles one of them) and not just quick trails, so you actually get to learn on them and not spend all day on the chair lift. __

nah, we just hadn't started drinking yet. the bar was within eyeshot though!! __

scuba and then a night jump isn't particulary a good idea. __

i want to see the looks on teh face sof the custosm officials when they open everything up just because she's *every 5th person in line* or something. Customs doesnt' seem to care if you are suspicious or not. Thsoe people dont' care and will open everything, empty bottles... I've seen nightmares in the US and foreign country entry points in those lines. __

i would love to know how to get from pahokee to deland in an hour. i drive like a bat out of hell and it takes me 3.5 hours from west palm. SoBe is a good place to visit though one weekend when you want to travel a bit. definitely not closest though... __

they have a huge holiday boogie. http://www.skydivecity.com/news/calendar.htm 76 from finland alone coming. no registration fee, just pay for your jumps and beer.

it's just a good place with good people. NOt sure if you're a belly flier or not, but for RW there are usually aroudn 4 different organizers each day for RW. Boxman and or Guy Wright if he's around usually are doing the formation load stuff and tryouts for hte 140 ways in April. Then there are NIgel, Drew and Oren for those who are more into smaller (anywhere from 4-16 or so) ways and more casual types of skydives. If ya screw up, the worst that can happen is you get stuck wearing the SLotfinder 2000.

SoBe is a sweet DZ, but doesn't have facilities to stay there for a week or so yet. I'm not sure that camping is allowed on teh DZ and pahokee is a sketchy area to stay in for hotels. Last time I was there there wasn't food concession on the DZ yet. It's a great place that's expanding rapidly though. ZHills has 76 Finnish skydivers visiting throughout december and January. Those guys know how to PARTAY. plus the regulars. 3-4 otters around. sheltered packing. free camping/ALWAYS hot showers (individual ones with your own sink), gear store, food, nightly dinners over teh oliday boogie, pauls bar has any beer you want for 2$ from budwater to shiner bock to bass, also has wine for the wine-os. there ar elocal hotels if you aren't into camping, and a huge bonfire every night for those locals who think that 55 is cold. The DZ is located 30-40 mins from Tampa Intl airport, and if the weather goes awry the city of Tampa is not far and full of things to do. __

I believe ZHills also has a local group of dawgs. __

If your sinuses feel odd don't jump. Breaking your nose can cause blood to get in yor sinuses adn block them up, can cause you to feel light headed, e tc etc. It just depends how the break was. I broke mine and the only problem I had was getting my full face helmet on (and after having it broken in freefall was NOT jumping without my FF again ever). _

unfortunately pre, not too much out on the panhandle. Most and I think all turbine DZs are in pretty much the central and south regions. Looking west may be your best bet from that base... __

teehee. i wore a dress.

I'm a winner:0:0 work holiday formal was Saturday evening. I decided to be a total girl and take 3 hours to get ready. I won the cute little snowman centerpiece though. teehee. 1 5 minute long DD voicemail from Kris, Bo, and?? maybe eeneR? I was out cold last night and didn't even hear the phone ring.

nothing like a little innapropriate fascia to ruin your day, eh?

hey, it was pricey but it was a great set to have. I'd much rather hunt through the cadaver book than the actual cadaver. ugh. made finding the real stuff a lot easier. and i DID Love the coloring book. helped me learn a lot, esp those little muscles and tendons taht *disappear* on the models. __
-
Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology by Martini. Mine came with a CD rom, a muscular/skeletal and systems coloring book, and an illustrated dissection guide for cadavers and cats. Very easy to follow and put together reallly well. __

mine made sense!

I come from the land down under. I can feel St Elmos Fire burning in me.

I'd recommend you sign up for the "Bachelor". The "Batchelor" may be some obscene cooking show. I've nominated friends in the past as well. Unfortunately, they usually look for someoen fairly wealthy, stable, and a non-risk taker frm the looks of the other guys on there. boooooo-ring! OTOH, I thought it would be funny if the paris hilton show was on a DZ instead of a farm. COuld you see those girls trying to pack parachutes all day? teehee..... __

What is it with customer service nowadays???
Stacy replied to NoShitThereIWas's topic in The Bonfire
T mobile has been great. Iv'e never waited more than 2 mintues for a human, and none of those annoying phone tree things to get to someone. I wanted to upgrade my phone and they gave me a sweet discount on one. They've also randomly given me extra minutes for being a loyal customer. My only complaint is service availability in some bumblefrick towns, but my new phone has capabilities for 911 calls even when i can't make regular calls, so rock on. ;c) -
no eloy for me. I'm staying home in warm florida for the Stacy and HeatherB lovefest. I've got my 4 otters and my *home* DZ here.
