Woke up this morn at 4:45 for training, leave early for work. Get told by coach to get my act together(been sick last 10 days) or fuck off(exact words). Work for some roofing guys shifting tiles and beams. Leave home at 7 to come to uni to get 2500 essay done. I arrive only to find my key card is at home. Return home and get keycard. Home is 20 mins from uni. Then find the wanker who was meant to put our presentation on cd, which has all my info on it, didnt do it. Put some other shit on instead about the WRONG FUCKING BUILDING.... On top of this my university wants $110 in compulsory guild fees. $410 worth of shit paid out this week, and last week I forked out $261 for the car's license. And paying for AFF jumps is fucked when the government is taking all my money. Now im sitting at uni, unable to do project. Will lose marks. Howdy all I haven't been eating my vegetables lately and I've slimmed down to 1.5kg's. Because I didnt eat my brocolli I am now very fluffy and sport another set of legs. My arms have mysteriously dissapeared. I am very keen at getting into base and was wondering about wingloading? Would a 42'PC allow me to survive a landing on hard ground or should i stick to water jumps, or perhaps a 46'PC ? Also I am having a custom harness sewed for me, if anyone has any pictures of a harness designed for a person like myself could you please PM/post them. I have no mentor, but I have found a local 50 foot span over water l that looks like a perfect newbie object. Due to restrictions in the use of my front legs I will have to go PCA, but has anyone developed a system to allow me to do longer delays? I was thinking of using lightweight fishing line still on the spool, kind of like a very long static line, that can run out maybe 20 or 30m. Should I tape my paws as to prevent myself from clawing at the canopy, and should i tape each paw individually, or together to prevent myself from making a runner before the ground crew comes and gets me? Would taping my paws together lead to stability problems? Lastly I would like to say Im a big fan of Rocket the Wonder Dog, and believe my endeavor would better inter-species relations between canines and felines. And what sort of experiance level do you consider appropriate? Would you consider taking on someone if they said they would continue to work for you for a set period of time at an agreed rate? Cheersfor clearing that up. I got my painting clothes ready for the next rain. Another question, is it better to have the brakes down just below your rib cage for the PLF? Because this leaves your elbows and arms as a point of impact which wouldnt be too fun. On the other hand tucking my arms in leaves the toggles on top of my chest, which doesnt create much of a flare, more a 1/4 to half brake approach. I decided to practice said PLF. About a 5m run up sprinting and jumpin off a 1m step. On grass this was still rather painful, and washing off foward speed was a problem. I rolled pretty hard on my hips and my legs went round into the ground with an almighty thump. Also taught me to keep elbow well tucked in. Seeing as this is only running pace and i could only manage 4 practice downwind plf's, how do you wash off that speed in a 45mph downwind landing? Bill could you elaborate on how you keep your legs out in front of you, when you spoke about the downwind plf? I cant seem to figure this out because I think it would just look like a slide but resting on your side? or have I got it all wrong? "In one way or the other, I'm a bad brother. I am looking to finish AFF in January but currently am trying to make the state rowing team. I know that under a 280 sq ft canopy I come in softly(as long as i dont do funky down wind landings or stupid shit), but I'm also aware that people can break themselves under canopy whether it me a manta 280 or a vx89. I'm also aware that as a newbie I will fuck up alot and may be liable to root my flares up...I will wear shoes with ankle support, (without hook thingys to catch lines and kill me) but am i relatively safe or just looking for trouble? Howdy all I did my aff1 at the worst reviewed DZ in australia. The West Australian Skydiving Academy. Now while jumping on the bandwagon may not be the best thing to do all the time, it seems it may be warranted. I enjoyed it very much at the time, never gave a shit about facilities etc. I had instructors who were great blokes and nice camerawoman. I would like to finish off AFF(will be rich after working on wheat bins) and think Skydive Express would be the place to go. Seems to be the better place with facilities and more people. And which one is best when you have to put 200 odd jumps on it? There seem to be alot of ravens about with few jumps on(ex reserves), most cruiselites have got a fair few jumps on and have prolly seen better days? Any thoughts on a raven as a skydiving main?
