1st Main PD Sabre2 or Pulse? Advice please :)
monkycndo replied to justinbaker27's topic in Gear and Rigging
If you go with the used Pulse, make sure that it came new with the current line attachment design or has had the mod done. The line mod gives better flare power. If it has not been done, it requires a reline and changing the attachment points. That will add to the cost of the used canopy. Pulse= On heading openings that are quick, but not hard. Very flat glide to get you back from long spot and short recovery arc to toggle input. Packs smaller and easier to pack due to Optimum fabric bottom skin. Dependable canopy that will get you down safely. Not real sporty. Sabre2= Openings going every which direction. Trimmed for steeper flight than the Pulse. Tapered tail so sportier flight characteristics. Longer recovery arc and a powerful flare. Depending on WL, good entry canopy to learn to swoop. A new canopy of this size in all ZP fabric will be quite the experience to pack. Especially if you are trying to get it into a tight D bag. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. It's really the best kept secret in the US. It's such a good secret, the folks that have lived there their entire lives don't know how good they have it. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Too many variables not defined. Comparing apples to water buffalo. The two jumpers could have been at the DZ the exact same number of days, made the exact same number of jumps per day, met the same number of jumpers and had the same conversations. The only difference being that one went every Saturday banging out 10 jumps a day. The second went every third Saturday. Now if the second jumper went every Saturday and only did about 3 jumps a day for those 3 years, totally different situation. The first example, who knows who will be better. Maybe the uber current jumper. Second example, absolutely the jumper with more time in and around the sport. This question is kind of like a big pot of soup. What is better, soup made in a hurry and eaten right then, or one that has sat for a while and had a chance to have all the flavors meld and come together. Time in sport can do wonders for the "seasoning" of a jumper. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Username: tawny07 - Classifieds Buyer Scam
monkycndo replied to Meso's topic in Security and Scam Alerts
Classic scammer reply. Canned response with no info from original ad. Sent to any and all ads hoping for sucker to fall for it. Will pay by cashier check. It will be phony bank. If you send "item", you will be out the money from cashed check once bank takes money out of your account, and also you lose your gear you just shipped. Terrible use of "engrish" language. If you don't know the buyer, sell through a rigger/escrow or find someone that can vouch for the buyer. This sport is too small not to know someone that knows the other person. 50 donations so far. Dude, you are going about it all wrong. What you need to get is one of those long unicorn mounts that allows you to film your own face during the jump. It satisfies the "LOOK AT ME, I'M SO COOL" factor that all new jumpers desire. A side benefit is the long extension is fantastically snaggerific and the lines from your canopy will catch and hold tight so the helmet will be found when the cut away main is located. The only minor down side is it might snap your neck. But hey, at least the money you spent on the camera/helmet wasn't wasted since it was easy for someone else to find all your gear in just one spot. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. If I have lines/bridle/ball o'nylon wrapped around a GoPro, there is no way in hell I want to stick my hand in the middle of that trash and try and break off the GoPro. Who knows how much of the entanglement will be now wrapped around my wrist and I am even more dirty low. I did not mount a GoPro on my Mamba full face helmet until I came up with a cutaway that I can reach with either hand and the cable is at my chin. Far away from the camera. 50 donations so far. $200 for a 401A or 500A is way over priced. I picked mine up for $75. Since I have a Bernina 217 to replace it, I am about to sell my 500A to another jumper for what I paid. Saw one recently for $50. If you wait, you can find them for under $100. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
