I have been looking for a smoke bracket and have decided to finally make one myself. Still needs some polishing. If I am confident on the design, I will put it on the market. Here is what I wanted: Mount would be comfortable to wear on the ground and in the air. No metal under the shoe that can reduce traction at an exit point, out of a plane, or landing. Can mount multiple smoke canisters on one bracket. Mount would allow for angling smoke away from wingsuit to minimize staining suit. Easy reach to cut away and the cut away system can be operated when a WS bootie is still zipped up covering the shoe. If cut away, all parts of the bracket will easily extract and not have to pull out from along the leg/ possibly get stuck on unzipped WS. If used for a demo and had smoke canister burn through, lanyard to keep cutaway smoke from falling onto public below. If cut away bracket became entangled during deployment, lanyard would self release. Getting closer and hope to have it ready for testing soon. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. Pilots are know to pack larger compared to canopies of similar size. You could go to a ZPX Pilot, a Pulse or a 7 cell that should fit much more easily into your container. Down sizing because you bought a container that doesn't hold your current main is a less than intelligent reason to go smaller. Your current WL of 1.2:1 at 180# is aggressive to begin with at 85 jumps. Going to a 150 would put you at 1.36:1 That is way outside of any recommendations. A tight main also makes your reserve fit tighter as well. A proper fit on the reserve makes it deploy as designed. So that tight main you have been forcing into your "buy one container for future downsizing" has been adding unnecessary risk in case you had to use your reserve. Many folks have down sized too early and got away with it. But those that haven't have had to pay a heavy price. Question. A Pulse is an option. Be aware that they pack smaller than similar sized canopies so make sure your container will hold a smaller pack volume. Also, I have been told that the flare power starts to decrease as you approach a WL of 1.4:1. Due to this, you might want to upsize to a 190. Another canopy to look at is a Storm by PD. Is is a 7 cell that opens quick but soft. It is trimmed a bit steeper than a Sabre2. It is a favorite of WS fliers because of it's dependable openings that don't snivel forever. 50 donations so far.
