  1. I think any jumper that wants to stick a camera on their head should have to watch your video of when a camera jump goes bad. They might just wait for a while longer. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  2. I think the question by the OP is a good one because someone wants to know about their gear. That is so refreshing in this day and age of getting an A license and using packers from there on. Lee, with an answer like yours, we now might have one less jumper in the sport. Yes, there have been problems with slippage. Answer me this. How many jumpers do you know of that have died/been injured due to friction adapter/harness failure? To the OP, keep on asking questions. The more you know about your gear, the more you will trust it. And, you will know when to take it to your rigger and say, "This doesn't look right." 50 donations so far. Give it a try. 3. Yup, for the cost of a regular jump ticket. They normally do one or two loads a day out of the 3 during the boogie. Pretty cool that in a single day, you can do a balloon jump as load one, jump an Otter, do a gainer out of the back of the skyvan, a high altitude load and a sunset load out of the DC3. Have you booked a ticket to PHX yet? 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  4. I make my closing loops. Loop is big enough so I don't have to fight to get the pull up cord through it, maybe 1/2" to 3/4". 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  5. If you want to stay east coast, both have nice boogies. If you want to head west, I will be organizing WS at the Eloy Holiday Boogie. Otters, DC3, Skyvan tailgate, balloon and free beer. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  6. I don't remember if they were the Chillblocker or Ultragrip. I had a pair, but gave them to a buddy that was having problems with his hands getting cold during work jumps. He loved them. If I remember correctly, they run a bit on the large size. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  7. Donald, that is one nice looking helmet... and it offers protection? Very cool. Interested to see how it handles the higher wind velocities of WS versus skateboarding. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  8. Take a look at Sealskinz. They have a variety of warmths. Some have textured dots for good grip. A bunch of TIs use them here during the winter months. They are available at REI and from Amazon. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

  11. So, 10 years ago this day, took a Friday off from work and paid to sit in a classroom all by myself getting lectured to. And little did I know then how much it would change my life. 1900+ jumps later, have 44 hours of freefall time, been to few foreign countries, found a special place in Montana called LP, met lots of new friends (and quite a few assholes... WHAT?!!!!), lost some of those friends, learned that the smell of pie isn't always a good thing, got some heavy metal implanted, participated in a Guinness WR, and met a very special woman. I can go on and on. Thanks Raff and AdamT for the training for that first jump. And yes, I'll be bringing a case of beer to the DZ for my first 10 years in sport. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. 12. Look at a flock of wingsuiters when they land. You will find a whole bunch of Sabres. I currently own 3. Have somewhere near 1000 jumps on a Sabre from 190 down to 135. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

  16. The double plate has a quick release built in. This allows one to either use the standard video camera top mounted by itself or mounted with the Gopro bracket. The Gopro can also be used by itself. Provides versatility. I made a bracket, but the Sony box is hard connected to the plate. Hell of a lot cheaper, but if I want to use the Sony cam by itself, stil have e bracket hanging out front. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  17. I agree, finding a 217 or 138 is not as easy as buying something new from a retailer. I tend to check Craig's list a fair bit and have found four 217s and a 138, all for a good bit under $650. Three of the 217s have the cam drive as well. So they are out there. Just takes persistence to find them. I bought the 138 from a clothing company in Canada, with shipping, was still less then $650. Don't get me wrong, the 20U is a rock solid machine. Great to learn on and cheaper. I just found it took a bit of adjusting more often to get it to sew nicely when changing between different materials. Or even straight to zig zag for that matter. Price for a used Japanese machine should be in the $350 range. I sold mine to a home rigger and he uses the hell out of it. But if you go into a full loft or gear manufacturer, you will see a whole lot more of the Pfaff or Bernina. One place where the 20U has an edge, parts prices. So much cheaper. 50 donations so far. 18. If it is white/cream color, stay away from it. The Chinese models have lots of reviews of poor quality.Take the time to find a Japanese made 20U. For $650, I would also suggest looking for a Pfaff 138 or Bernina 217. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  19. I don't like any metal/plastic clips between my legs. I show my WS students how to use a closing loop and length of bungee. It is very simple to install and just as easy to disconnect when jumping your WS. The info is included as part of my course. If you have not taken your FFC through me, the system costs a bazillian dollars. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

  23. A word on wingloading. A good rule of thumb is stay under/at 1:1 WL till 100 jumps, then add .1 for each 100 there after. I would not advise going to 1.22 Wl at 80 jumps. I have somewhere near 1000 jumps on the original Sabre loaded from 1.18 to 1.6. The Sa2 will turn faster. Do yourself a favor, jump the shit out of the Sabre 170 before you downsize. The Sa2 will have a nicer flare, but it will turn you into the ground if you don't know what you are doing. Trust me, broken ankles suck. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. 24. I have both servo and clutch motors on my machines. There are two common RPMs for clutch motors, around 1725+/- and 3450 +/-. If you go clutch, go 1725 RPM. The small pulley will be 2"/50mm. If you have a hard time controlling how hard you push the treadle and go full speed, add a piece of bungee from the table to the top of the treadle. This will give move feedback that you have to push through. I have also heard of putting a NERF football under the treadle so you have to push harder for full speed. It doesn't take too long to learn how to feather the treadle for slow speed. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
