I took AFF and I'm very glad I did. I had excellent Jumpmasters and made some lifelong friends. But the Home DZ is closed and the New DZ had tandem progression. I sincerely think that the students coming off AFP are better flyers once of student status, then I was off AFF. On the DZ's AFP program, you are technically still "On Student Status" until you have 20 or so jumps. Yes, it cost more and takes longer, and the end result is a better skydiver. Jumpers on our DZ who are fresh off "Student Status" are more than ready for 2 - 4 way relative work, SCR's or freefly solo's. AFF , as mentioned, is a more aggressive learning curve. I appreciate the way the AFP program distributes information and slowly paces the learning process. Fly Your Slot !

Not like Im an Expert, but on my two CRW jumps, I was lucky enough to have them dock dead center. I just let go of my toggles and reached behind me to grab two hands full of canopy - then I slid all the way down the lines and put my feet in the front risers, then grabbed my toggles. - I was top man on both jumps so, I got to fly the formation

This is still a hard thing for me. Everytime I think Im getting better at seeing the puzzles - Someone plans something that blows my mind. Try drawing at random from the Dive Pool then putting it together with no help-it's not as simple as you would think. Give you alot of respect for what teams are faced with. Fly Your Slot !

USPA responded that they had to do away with an award to add one, and they added the 3D award. - "But...you did away with three"....long pause, "we will be adding two more later". I have wasted ..oops, I mean submitted my money for all the awards thus far. Im up to the Silver Falcon and they cut it. Guess I'll have to work on the CRW awards for a while.

I was on a 6 way friday with a guy doing a veritcal OVER ME. We dirt dived that the three way base would sink out a little going to this point. It went very well and...funny...I didn't feel a thing. - Soon, Im sure, it will be my turn to go over. - but not on a 6 way. Thanks for all the advice and tips. Can't wait to try it in the air. The Silver Falcon Award is for a 36 way or bigger formation. I can see doing away with the Falcon and Eagle, but the Silver Falcon requires two aircraft and alot of talent on one Drop Zone. Fly Your Slot !

uhhh, I jump at Spaceland.... ...but Im always looking for a way to make it to Kelli's webpage. If that means being an "Ugly Chick" , it's all worth it. I'll be an "Ugly Chick" and I'll drive the 90 miles to Waller - just to see Zen and Slap jump in drag. Fly Your Slot !

I think this will be fun. Hopefully I will be able to recognize the skydivers in REAL CLOTHES. Don't think I have ever worn make-up and high heels to the DZ. Time to KNOCK EM DEAD! Fly Your Slot !

Not confused! Makes good sense. Also the advice about staying flat will help. I was wondering how you would keep level hoping over the burble. Seems like it would be REAL EASY to overamp these. So, do I expect these to be BIG moves or SMALL moves in the air? Fly Your Slot !

Im gonna go try this on a two way drill dive..hopping over in compressed accordians. The best description I can get on the ground is "dearch a little, lead with your torso and let your legs follow, use your hand on the rig if you need to.." I know in skydiving, sometimes it's hard to explain HOW........we just do it-, but does anyone have another description or something to add? Fly Your Slot !

Jess: I jump alot at spaceyland on Fridays. I get out around Noon and can usually get 2 or 3 in before dark. During Daylight Savings, I could sometimes jump more on Fridays than Saturdays. They have Tandems and Students every day. On a Wends or Thursd you may only get two or three loads, but better than nuthin. The week after christmas, Im having House Guest from Minnesota (Skydive Hutchinson) coming to Houston to JUMP! We plan to be at the DZ every jumpable day during their visit, so we should keep the otter flying that week! Fly Your Slot !
