  1. Eskimos have several different words for what we call "snow." To us, they all mean "snow", but to them, each is different from the others, representing a different kind of snow. Because their culture is affected by their geographic locale and its inherent climate, the extra thought their culture has put into snow shows up in their language. We don't need several words for snow because our culture is more concerned with when and how much as opposed to what kind. Of course this is but a single example of how culture can manifest in language. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  2. That was exactly the problem with the Articles of Confederation. Sooner or later, a similar solution will be implemented with respect to international government. As the world gets smaller and smaller and smaller . . . Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  4. Fox lost all credibility in my mind when they went to court and essentially won the right to distort truth to the point of lying. And I never put much stock in CBS, either. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  7. Accused is different than convicted. fancy lawyer tricks. Creative, but not illegal. Well, you got me there. War is murder. How many peoples' blood do you think is on Kerry's hands vs. Shrub's, seeing how Shrub started the unjust war that Iraq is currently misfortunate enough to be experiencing. Not murder, but irresponsible. Especially when one can easily afford a cab. Not a good quality in a leader. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  8. I don't see the UN as a car thief. What organization would you suggest take its place? I'm all for scrapping the UN if we can come up with a replacement that is more representative of the world, and does not give any country veto power. That's where the real fraud is in the UN. 10. Evolution is the only one of the two that has not been disproven. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  11. To call evolution a theory would imply that it can be used to mathematically predict future "evolutions." We don't know that much yet. Its still a hypothesis, and only that by a stretch of the imagination, as we cannot easily experiment, but only observe a time frame much larger than the lifespan of the observers. So, no, it is not a theory. Nor is it a fact. And it's probably wrong. Everything else science has ever shown us has been later proven wrong. Hell, even Newton was wrong. Once we thought the earth was flat. We were wrong. Then we thought the earth was spherical. That, too, was wrong. But it wasn't nearly as wrong or inaccurate as the idea of a geocentric universe that it replaced. That's how science works, it continually replaces one inaccurate explanation with another slightly less inaccurate explanation. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  12. It is the most scientifically sound and closest to accurate explanation for the origin of the species. You are right. Science does not offer fact, they offer explanations, each new one conforming to observation ever more closely. Creationism (The story of Adam and Eve has been highly perverted since it left the hands of Rabbis.) in its Western Christaian context, is easily discredited. Feathered dinasaurs. 13. True. Logically, if people don't like the direction our cultural communications are going, they can write their Congressmen, and ask for English to be declared the national language. But last I checked, this isn't England, so I don't know how far they will get. Children use a different part of their brain to learn additional languages, compared to adults. Young kids can often learn new languages as quickly as they learned their native tongue. It is not so easy for adults. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  14. Something I learned by the time I was sixteen was: You always get fucked in the drive-thru. Go inside, you'll get better service. It's not usually a language thing. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  15. What influences would those be? Nike? Coke? Maybe the Marlboro Man? Mickey Mouse? McDonalds? Sony? Levi's? General Motors? Exxon? Television? Because we didn't adopt their Earth friendly lifestyles. Or their productive use of elders in society. Or their attitude of cooperation. How have they influenced us? Math tutoring available. 16. Yes. Until a better system comes along, the UN must be trusted. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  17. Considering we have a convicted criminal in the whitehouse who can never seem to get his story straight, integrity in the UN is the least of my worries. Besides, the micro-percentage is insignificant in comparison to the dues for which the US are in arrears. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  22. Yeah, but here I am in Florida, where high school seniors struggle to pass a test that is written at about the eighth grade level, internationally. So we are not giving kids a decent K-12 education either. That needs to be fixxed as well; you are correct. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
