  1. It doesn't matter which way you answer.
  2. I've heard Air Force refer to their barracks as dorms, in the early nineties. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  4. In fairness, Lucky's "opposition" has provided only anecdotal evidence. In other words, neither side has made a valid case supporting their assertions. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  5. Gas jumped from $1.97 to $2.09 two days after the election in Tulsa. It's up in IL and IN too. And Orlando. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  6. Are you saying that God was unaware that Satan would rebel? Or, are you saying that God knew Satan was going to rebel? Ahem! Mr. Steveorino? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  7. Yaaaawn phew aargg fokkiT ! how low does one have to go ... The so-called fossil record doesn’t exist! Bottom line buddy now have one I see. Since you (general reference to creationists, not you specifically) don't understand it, it can't possibly be true. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  8. Well, when I was a kid we had to walk all the way across the room to change channels. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  10. I'm not a creationist so I'm not arguing for a literal reading of Genesis, but you are making assumptions. God can create something (man/angels) with a free will. While created ina perfect state they can rebel. Both Satan and man rebelled against God. Omnipotence doesn't negate free will. It implies God knows what we will choose, not that he dictates it. If they rebel using free will, they are not perfect creations of an eternal entity, thereby contradicting the all powerful assumption. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 11. From physicsweb: You could soon charge your mobile phone by simply leaving it on a desk or tabletop, thanks to physicists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who have come up with a new way to power electronic gadgets without an electrical cable. Marin Soljacic and colleagues have devised a wireless technique that uses an electromagnetic field to transfer energy from a power source to a device several metres away. Math tutoring available. 12. Not really. When I was in high school, all students had to take the ASVAB before they graduated. Many also took the SAT. Maybe so, but 25% will score in the top fourth. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  13. Prove it. See BillVons' post above. He explained it far, far better than I could. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  14. My parents want me to come home, but I don't know if I will. I pretty much despise Christmas and the holiday season, so any other time of year would be preferable. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  15. Sure. They happen all the time. What's the point? Such mutations are the "building blocks" of evolution. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  16. Due to the nature of percentile scores, I find this highly unlikely. I will readily admit the SAT is a more difficult test than the ASVAB, but that will not affect the percentile scores, assuming similar groups take both tests. Math tutoring available. 17. More or less... and that is why there is such diversity among us within a species. However, the information for the Neo-Darwinian kind of change just isn't there. New information would have to be added for one species to (even gradually) change into another. You evidently misunderstood what I wrote. Your assertion has no basis in fact. There is more than one way to cause the mutations required for evolution to take place. They can even be caused by damage from light. Not only are such mutations possible, they are probable. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  18. New information is not necessary for mutation. DNA strands can mutate as they synthesize, such that the base pairs do not line up the same way as they did in previous versions. It may be a new sequence but there's no new information added that wasn't already there before. There is speciation within a kind driven by natural selection, however, the leap hasn't been demonstrated as possible for anything beyond that. If you look at it that way, then the information in our DNA is no different than the information in a single celled organism. It's all just As and Ts, Cs and Gs. What matters is how the information is arranged. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  20. Agreed. It is my opinion that the purpose of the Bible is to point us to Christ as a means to be made whole. (sometimes the Greek word for being made whole, sousa is interpreted as "saved") I also agree here. However, I disagree that the only way to become "whole" is through Christ. (You haven't made this claim, AFIK.) I think different religions accomplish this for different people. One is not better than another. Personally, I prefer the Eastern religions that lack deities. 21. I believe the truthfulness is dependent upon the interpretation. If one interprets it as saying the earth was made in a day, it is absolutely false. If one interprets it to mean the earth has not always existed, I think that is very consistent with what we have evidence to support. Likewise, if we interpret Adam and Eve to be the very first people, it makes the account false. If we interpret it as other creatures existed before man, and man evolved from them ("We created...") then it is more accurate. Etc. Etc. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 22. I agree. I also believe that religion is not an acceptable replacement for science. (I should also add that science, if they ever discover the unified field theory, may also show free will to be illusional.) Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  23. Shrooms cannot be grown using hydroponic methods. Many pick fresh shrooms. In fact, it is often hard to find fields that haven't been picked yet. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  24. It shouldn't be hard to test your hypothesis. Some states (maybe all states) require all high school students to take the ASVAB. Compare the scores of those who enlist and the scores of those who go on to college right out of high school. You might even be able to use a sample that took both the ASVAB and the SAT. 25. I start with two assumptions: 1. God is all knowing and all powerful. 2. God is eternal. Do you disagree with these assumptions? I have held my own in theological discussions in a university classroom setting. I don't have a problem with Christianity or Genesis, but the literal interpretation of the (King James translation) book does not stand up to logic. It's a nice metaphor, but should not be taken literally. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
