  1. It's not supposed to entice long term spending. The biggest chance it has of working is due to it being too small to be noticed, thus not changing spending habit from ~100% of income. The less likely that the extra money be noticed, the more likely it is to be spent immediately. The higher proportion that it is spent immediately, the more bang for the buck in terms of economic growth. The increased duration, as opposed to a single check, increases the chances of the growth being a trend instead of a short term spike. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 2. The video oversimplified the tactics used by the banks and mortgage brokers to persuade the (resident) borrowers to take out ARM mortgages so the banks would have something to sell to the investors. The payment structure of some of the loans also made it attractive to individual investors to treat houses as short term investments, since the low/no down payment and/or relatively small initial payments allowed them to buy more leverage with their money. That contributed to an increasing house supply, exacerbating the trend of decreasing market value of houses. Overall, I thought the video was pretty good. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! Racer

The majority of professional skydivers I have known have jumped one of two kinds of rigs, Racers and free sponsored rigs. Racers are very comfortable and are aesthetically the best looking rigs out there, IMO. They also have the best reserve pin protection in the industry. There are only three rigs that I would pay for. Racer is one of them. Having said that, you would be hard pressed to buy a bad rig today (or from the past few years). Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  4. HE grenades are one of few instruments of destruction that Hollywood tends to represent as much less powerful than they actually are. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  5. There are some funny parts. I just dont see the humor in it like my wife does. She's damn near rolling on the floor laughing. All I can do is try. It's intelligent humor, not the brainless stuff so common in American movies. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  6. But it does mean something about the open minded approach these people employed to assemble truth regarding physical and spiritual reality. In light of that, their embracing God's message means a lot to anyone who still has an open mind to the Truth. ... Personally, I tend to agree with Albert E., who didn't believe in a personal god. I would consider him open minded. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  7. Had they worked, then why is there still need for more stimulus? If the current tax cuts prove to be helpful, it will likely be due to the fact that the money is spent continually instead of in a single shot. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  8. Having trouble reading? There would be no useful benefit until after I paid ~$3900 out of pocket. $20,000 > $3900 $200,000 > $3900 $2,000,000 > $3900 Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  9. $2500 deductible, no co-pays for office visits or RX after deductible. It's not disingenuous at all. That's what my out of pocket costs would be before I received any useful benefit from the insurance. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  10. The contracts won't have the relevant information to support your assertion. If you want to support your claim, you'll need to break out some life tables and brush up on your calculus. (My experience has been that drinking and calculating probabilities and present values don't always go well together if one wants to do either properly.) Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 11. No. There are other important jobs that do far more to benefit society (e.g. teachers, firemen). Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  12. Can you elaborate, please? I don't understand how Hick's law would be applicable unless one had to locate the target out of a group. What am I missing? Anyone? Anyone? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  13. That would include the overwhelming majority of people. Doctors, for example, give back to society. On the other hand, it could be argued that garbage collectors are more important to the health of society than even doctors. What about teachers? Grocery or clothing store employees? Auto mechanics? Over the road truck drivers? Any of the above jobs are just as important to the well being of the country as soldiers, some far more so (e.g. teachers). The list goes on and on. To answer the question, No, absolutely not. If anything, the right to vote is already overly restricted, IMO. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  14. The spending need not be long term to stimulate the economy. To stimulate the economy, the money only needs to be spent. If a tax cut is to provide maximum benefit to the economy, it needs to be given to those who can't afford to (or just won't) save it. $13 per week is a substantial amount of money for that purpose, when one takes into account how many people will be spending an extra $13 per week. Trickle down economics doesn't work. Money flows toward wealth, not away from it. If the economy is going to be successfully rejuvenated via tax cut stimulus, that stimulus has to target the people at the bottom first and foremost. If that group spends more, businesses make more money, resulting in more profits and employees working more (or new jobs being created), which in turn leads to more spending in the economy, creating a positive feedback loop. 15. I do it all the time. That's often where the goods I want to purchase are located. It's also worth noting that there is a difference between stupidity and gullibility. Many intelligent people are gullible. Many stupid people are not so easily fooled (or convinced, when no one is actually trying to fool them). Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 17. Do you have a source for this? I've heard differently in the past, but have never attempted to verify the accuracy of the claim. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  18. Pretty much all of the recreational ones (e.g. cannabis, cocaine, LSD, heroin, DMT, psylisybin, MDMA, amphetamine, methamphetamine, etc.) should be legal. I agree with previous posters that the drug war is more dangerous than the drugs. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  19. The Redline arrived a couple weeks ago. Sixty seconds into the first ride I realized that walking 2-5 miles daily is not the same as being in shape! . I'm loving the bike. I replaced the stock WTB Exiwolf tires with a pair of Schwalbe Marathons, which made a huge difference (as expected). The 29 inch wheels are great. I don't think I'd enjoy riding something with those puny little 26 inch wheels now. I was a little bit worried that I wouldn't like the rigid fork, but it hasn't been an issue. The single speed is great, although the stock gear ratio (32:16) is too low for the street. I've got a 12 tooth cog and a 14 tooth cog to try, but I haven't swapped them yet, since I don't have the necessary tool to do so. It's surprisingly refreshing to not have to deal with trying to stay in the optimal gear. I might convert it to fixed gear in the future, but I currently lack clipless pedals, so that will have to wait. I'm looking for 2-3 decent flashlight mounts (good flashlights offer more light per buck than bike specific lights, plus they are useful for other things here in hurricane alley). I've examined a few, and tried a couple, but I haven't found anything that works well yet. I've got some parts ordered to fabricate a couple, with a little help from a machine shop. Still, it would be nice to find something suitable off the shelf. Best of all, I've learned that Orlando and the surrounding area have many miles of interconnected biking/hiking trails, both paved (motor vehicles prohibited) and unpaved. There's even a few miles of single track on campus (riding in sand sucks, though). That's got to be the best thing I've found out about Orlando since I moved here. It's nice to be pedaling again. 22. Can you elaborate, please? I don't understand how Hick's law would be applicable unless one had to locate the target out of a group. What am I missing? Tangentially, Fitts' law predicts that one can aim at and shoot a tall, fat person faster than one can aim at and shoot a short skinny person (in case you were wondering). Math tutoring available. 23. I would suggest you take some classes on life insurance underwriting and pricing before making such statements. There is nothing inherently better about one type of life insurance compared to another. Different people have different needs, but the expected return per dollar paid in premium is roughly equal among all of them. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
