See what you don't know is that is what GITMO will be used for now. I wouldn't count on it. For the record, I don't really want to see all of the Republicans killed off. While it may sound like a good idea, Republicans are people too, and genocide is generally wrong. I do find it hilarious that people would actually consider a revolution because their boy didn't get elected. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Here's a quick link. http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-158188 From the link: "iReport.com is a user-generated site. I can't vote, as none of your poll options include Republican genocide. I guess I'll have to go without a revolution. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Deficit spending doesn't come from a "tax and spend" philosophy. Deficit spending is a result of spending without taxing. Looking back to Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush, only under Clinton (second term) did the government ever properly tax and spend. In my lifetime, which began during the Nixon administration, Democrat presidents have indeed been better at practicing a tax and spend budgeting than their Republican counterparts, who have preferred to engage in deficit spending. It sure is a good thing such things never happen in private industry! Can you please point to another life annuity that has averaged 7% annual return on investment since inception? Even if steps are not taken to correct for the baby boom's effect on population growth, full benefits can still be paid until ~2041. Thereafter, 3/4 benefits can be paid for another ~40 years. That's not a system I would consider bankrupt or broken. I do believe it would be prudent to adjust for the baby boom sooner, rather than later. The longer we wait, the more painful the solution becomes. Suspending the tax for a year would be ludicrous, fiscal irresponsibility at its finest. I would love to see the calculations supporting that assertion. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Define just. I see nothing unjust about someone with a larger income paying more taxes. Nor does the Constitution. While not my argument, it would not be difficult to support an assertion that differing levels of income do, in fact, correlate with receiving differing levels of service from the government. The sixteenth amendment explicitly provides Congress with the "power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration." There appears to be a lack of continuity in your logic. If no document or group of men people can take away the rights, then why was the Bill Of Rights even necessary? Why is it people have found it necessary to use one or more of the first ten amendments to the Constitution as the basis of a legal defense in civil and criminal courts if there was no danger of the rights being taken away? Why do police often treat people like guilty criminals when those people practice their rights as guaranteed in their federal and state constitutions? Apparently there is risk of those rights being taken away. Your last statement, about the BOR superseding the rest of the Constitution, appears to have no logical basis at all. Did you make this point when W. relied on such strategies during his 2000 campaign? He promised checks from the government, made possible by a fiscally responsible previous administration. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! -

No Captain, I didn't miss that. You may be unaware though that the Bill of Rights supercedes any other part of the Constitution. Thus, while the Constitution does empower Congress to levy taxes , the 5th ammendment prohibits income taxes(confiscation of private property for public use). Blues, Cliff Perhaps you'd be well served by rereading the Constitution. From amendment five: … nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. Citizens receive just compensation for their income taxes in the form of benefits provided with those tax monies. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Apparently in your haste to whine you missed this part of the Constitution: Section 8 - Powers of Congress The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States; Apparently in your haste to whine.... Or, perhaps in your own haste, you neglected to read the sixteenth amendment: The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration. It can be that. It can also produce a very nice income for some who passed with flying colors and went on to take a few more maths courses. A successful gambler doesn't believe in luck; he believes in probability and the importance of making bets with positive net expected value. Online poker is especially appealing, as it allows players to play at multiple tables simultaneously. Instead of making $25 an hour on one table, they'll make $10 each per hour on six or ten or more tables. Online sports betting is nice because bettors can shop for the best lines, occasionally even finding arbitrage opportunities. It's not even about the underlying sports for many bettors, it's about implementing good betting strategies to get the best value for their money, getting the best return on their investment. Personally, I'd like to see the decriminalization of all gambling, not just online gambling. There's no reason to make anyone miss out on a perfectly good (extreme) short term investment opportunity as it presents itself. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

It erroneously implies that min(f(x)) occurs at x=0. (In this case, f(x) = amount of money left in citizens' pockets after obligations and expenses are paid, including taxes, as a function of x, which is the tax rate.) Supporting such a conclusion requires a rigorous proof. Anytime taxes allow citizens to obtain a price discount on something with near universal demand by utilizing buying power obtained by purchasing a good or service as a collective, instead of as individuals, then paying taxes for that good or service results in more money in citizens' pockets. As a recovering audiophile, I agree that a nice home theater system or the big screen can enhance the viewing experience. However, if a movie needs the big screen or nice home theater system to be great, it usually isn't really a great movie. I thought The Dark Knight was a good, not great movie. I didn't think it lived up to the hype, but it wasn't bad. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Nor should they have been offered the loans. It takes at least two parties to enter into that contract. Both parties demonstrated poor judgement. I'm confident there are many people who fit that description. In the sense that people are not going to take on long new long term financial obligations, no, the tax cuts are not intended to do that. It is designed to be spent as received, spent in the short term. Exactly. That's why this proposal is a better idea. It avoids people doing that as much. They won't notice the extra money, they'll just spend it. No, they will increase their spending, because they don't notice the extra money. So they continue spending all they have from one pay period to the next. When people are living from paycheck to paycheck, their spending is based on how much is left until the next check, not a fixed budgeted amount. They're often used to seeing small variations in the amount coming in due to variance of the number of hours worked. Even people that work 40 hours weekly don't usually work exactly 40 hours. They'll go on spending everything from paycheck to paycheck, just like always. They won't change their spending habits at all. Perhaps. Perhaps not. Its chances are greater than the lump sum method. It's not supposed to entice long term spending. The biggest chance it has of working is due to it being too small to be noticed, thus not changing spending habit from ~100% of income. The less likely that the extra money be noticed, the more likely it is to be spent immediately. The higher proportion that it is spent immediately, the more bang for the buck in terms of economic growth. The increased duration, as opposed to a single check, increases the chances of the growth being a trend instead of a short term spike. So, just to be clear, your argument is that an unnoticeably small increase in cash for the average American is the best answer for stimulating the economy? People will accidentally spend more because they have $8 a week extra? I never said it was best for the economy. I said it was better than a single large check. Math tutoring available. If you believe that, then you really don't understand what the necessary information would be. Insurance companies pay actuaries to determine the proper premium for a unit of benefit of a particular policy specifically to be able profit as much from one type of policy as another. I never claimed that every type of life insurance is equally well suited for any given family. Different families have different needs. They buy life insurance for different reasons. However, with respect to pricing, you get what you pay for, regardless of which type you choose (exception being if a healthy person renews a term life policy without changing companies, they can generally expect to pay more than they would pay had they switched). One type of policy is not an inherently better financial investment than another, even if the payment and benefit structure of one type may be better suited than another for a particular family. That's why there's different types of life insurance to begin with. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
