NOW, but when this was all started the polls were different. I will agree that the numbers are falling at a terrible rate. But how many voted "Yes" now say "No". That is the problem IMO with polls. They only count the opinion now. I would love to see how many backed the invasion who now vote it is a bad idea.

My point is that the decline in support has been due to the speed of communication. People hearing, seeing, reading about people who dies TODAY...Something that has never been available before. I am not debating the war. But I doubt ANY war EVER fought could remain "popular" with todays ability to communicate. Again, not debating right or wrong. Just pointing out how I doubt ANY war could remain "popular" today.

URBAN is a place, not a race. Maybe that is part of the problem. I don't have the history of people holding such strong racial hatred in my mind. To me all races are equal. That does not mean that all peoples *actions* are equal. I hold people to their actions, not their race. I was not raised any other way.

Hope that the Dem controled Congress has not Amended the 2nd out of existance. If he does leave in two years without declaring Martial Law, what are you going to do?

I disagree. The majority of the population was in favor of the war before it started. I see your point, but disagree. It is the daily reporting of the violence that people have grown sick of. As for number of casulties even the US Civil War lost more in ONE battle than we have lost so far. But that I feel is due to the speed of reporting and the access to it, more than we have ever had before. Even the negative reporting from otehr countries is constant and daily. Take this forum for example...In less than on min we can have people from three of more countries give an opion on a topic. Unheard of even in Gulf War 1.

Being close to being a dictator is like being "kinda" pregnant. I can understand how some may FEEL that way, but that does not make it true. Also, people making crazy claims like that hurts their cause more than it helps. I for one really thank you for your thoughts. Well thought out and well communicated. I however disagree with the notion that we have anything like a dictator in the WH. People may not like him, but he is far from a dictator. I actually am interested to see if the Dem controlled Congress can do anything they have claimed to be trying to do. And I think a balance of power between the two is good. Although I think I would really prefer the Repubs to have the Congress and the Dems to have the WH. Since I think Congress really has more power.

I disagree. I think the tide would have turned either way. Once the news shows the rising body count of ANY war the population will turn. Nam was the first time that almost instant reports were available to the people back home and the information flows even faster now.

The ones that are on welfare and see it as a lifestyle. Pretty simple really unless YOU want to read something into it that is not there.

Then you do not care enough. You trade security for standing up for what your believe. Frankly I think several members of Congress did the same thing.

Will of the people is not a law. But you defended lying under oath..Saying it was just a blow job. But it was still lying under oath and still illegal. And unlike all your other claims it was proven to be true, not just speculation. So either be for the law, or actually state your true opinion which is for it when you feel like it.
