My statement was that the way the people of New Orleans are so easy going that they reacted in a way that was to let others take care of them. Other places are not like that. And mine and others points are that both are wrong. Criminals still have full auto weapons. You could get one easily if you knew how. Conversion kits are readily available...ect. But I can't own one without a class III license. All the law does is make it hard for me to get one, criminals still get them all the time. And most people know that a full auto weapon is only really good in a few situations. They are fun, but a semi auto is a much better choice if you are looking to do real damage, or are in combat. In the US the standard troops have weapons that have three round burst, and then they rarely use it. So the ban really does nothing but make it hard for me to own one.

I didn't compare the impact, I compared the citizens actions. Do you not see a difference in how the two populations reacted?

People believe that crap all the time. Like all those that want the US to be socialist. But if a Democrat and a Repub came up to me and told me that they had intel that a country had "X". And they had plenty of support then I could believe what they were saying. Saddam did have WMD's evidenced by the fact he used them, hell the US sold them to him. He kicked the inspectors out more than once....yada, yada. So it sure looked to most he had them. While the scope is different, the attitude shown between the two places is also different. In LA the mayor was an idiot and blamed anyone he could. In CO the mayor did something. In LA the people ignored warnings. In CO they paid attention. In LA people expected the Govt to make it all better. In CO PEOPLE helped people. So I agree the email is pretty stupid you must admit that the PEOPLE of LA didn't do much for themselves, looted, bitched, and waited for someone else to make things better in many cases.

I didn't vote since that was not an option. They either believed, or they ignored their thoughts and voted the popular opinion. I can forgive being wrong.
