The Birthday Massacre! Great industrial band from Canada. http://www.nothingandnowhere.com/flash4.html

Do you tell your employer that you do skydiving?
nerd137 replied to bastichu's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
When I first got my current job I told my manager I skydive and she couldn't stop asking questions about it. She ended up doing a tandem. -
I have an addictive personality....but I can't say I'm "addicted" (in the medical sense) to skydiving. It's more like an obsession. I definitely got a little OCD in me.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale!!

This is me as my alter-ego "Lexusboy." (I work at Toyota's US headquarters.)

Seriously though, no, it doesn't bother me. Of course, I tend to be a little too open about bodily functions. I think bodily functions are funny...at worst.

[homer] Mmmmm.....vagina. [/homer]

Oh, for fuck's sake. She is dealing with her medical bills. If you think she's an idiot, then just don't donate. Personally, I wouldn't jump without insurance and do not sympathize with her financial debt because she got injured without insurance. But if Joe Blow wants to fork over some money, that's his deal. What do you or I care? I don't get the impression that she's "begging the rest of the world to feel sorry for her poor choices." She got herself in a fucked up situation and she's trying to get out of it. You don't wanna help? Don't. Neither will I. But stop with the shit talking. As for the sensationalism behind the story, that's the fault of the fucking news media...they would turn a damn jaywalking ticket into the crime of the century if it was a slow news night.

For the purposes of my point in this conversation, my teenage behavior is irrelevant. What I'm trying to communicate is that parenting with an iron fist is not, in my experience as a teenager, conducive to a relationship based on love and trust. Instead, it breeds resentment and bitterness. It took a long time for the ice to thaw between me and my dad.
-
I would love to see how well you and your kid relate when she becomes an adult. I didn't speak to my father for many years because of this kind of shit parenting.
-
Gee, that's a fantastic way to generate trust between you and your child. Excellent approach, bravo. Once you reveal that her privacy was a façade, surely she'll promptly become a model teenager again. And the newfound loyalty she's bound to feel toward you will definitely keep her from gravitating even more toward these 'bad people.'

And here I thought you were talking about the Warrant classic.... Nope...completely unrelated song.
-
Huh. I woulda thought that woulda been kinda obvious.

"Cherry Pie" by Underworld. I'm betting I'm the only one in the whole world that finds this song so sexual. (It's name is misleading. It doesn't even have any lyrics.)

I was 15. She was 18. (HA! I think that means she "raped" me!) We did the deed in her mom's Honda Accord in the parking lot behind the local Soup Plantation. That was a good day.

Tell me the truth: you'd get turned on if you saw me smoking a cigarette, wouldn't you? The TRUTH now!
-
HA! I knew I had posted my cigarette/ex-girlfriend analogy here before! http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1353607#1353607

Tell us how you REALLY feel! I smoked about 30 cigarettes a day before I quit about 3 years ago. But I still miss them. So I have one or two a month to stave off the desire to start up full time again. (For the record, I do not consider someone a "smoker" unless it's a daily habit.) I still remember why I started (curiosity/they made me feel yummy) and why I quit (the side-effects were a bitch).

Really? Wow. That sux. Happens to me all the time.

[high pitched girlie voice] Oooh, Skylord! You my hero! [/girlie voice] If I'm there when you're about to cross the line, I'll jump with ya. (I'll even try to stay off your back this time.)
-
It was.

Com'on man, you left yourself WIDE open for criticisim from the outset. You pretty clearly indicated that you have a moral qualm with this thread's treatment of sex; are you really that surprised that you're getting this reaction? Sheesh.
