Maybe they saw part of the ejection seat and the pilot? Don't they seperate after ejection? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

CNN just reported the pilot recovered safely.... Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Yep, I can see that... here in Minneapolis our schools close when it gets a little cold. I think the magic number for school closing is like 40-50 degrees below zero. The really sad part of this is that we get several school closings each year. Can you say... "Fricken Cold"! Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Nicely said! I agree with Pilotdave... When your ready, go for it. Get some qualified training, good equipment, develope some skills, and shoot some video. One last piece of advice... I hope your not in this for the money??? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -

Although I tend agree with RMURRY, it's not completely about jump #'s. It's about skill level and situation awareness. The fact that you have 97 jumps is a huge red flag. This video is a glaring indication of potential hazards. I'm in no way an expert! So, please show this video to someone at your DZ who is. Seek out the most experienced camera flyers you can. Ask good questions, and learn from them. If they tell you not to jump a camera yet, find out why and listen to them. If they feel you're capable, then I would say be carefull. Continue to seek their input and keep asking good questions. Nice video, good edit, great music, all in all, nice job! Stay with the whole video thing, even if you need to wait a few years and a couple hundred jumps. Our community can always use a good camera flyer. Just don't be in a big hurry to be the next video god. In the meantime, learn the other skills that will help you out. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -

Sorry to rain on the Parade, but... "A" licence, 97 jumps?? Is your profile up to date? If so, please be carefull with the camera. Based on the fact that the second dive shows you clearely going high on a three way, and not able to close the gap, it would appear your skills are still in need of development. Please take this in the spirit intended. I don't have any insite about the circumstanses around you shooting video. But, based on the information I have from this post, you may be in over your head. Please check the SIM (link below) and ask around your DZ for good advice. http://www.uspa.org/SIM/Read/Section6/tabid/169/Default.aspx#983 Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -
I heard an anylist on CNN predict $1.00 a gallon gas prices by spring... Could it be that those of us who still have a job will be able to afford a few skydives next summer? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081113/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/energy_forecast_3 Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

At 52, I jump from airplanes, aggressively ride a ZX11 (see aviator), and still do occasional handstands at the edge of a cliff. I do things like play football with my (very much younger) colleges, love to flirt with beautiful women (wife allows me to look but not touch) and act like a child! Some would say I’m just going through a mid life crisis. Those who know me, realize I’ve been doing this shit since I was a teenager. So, you see, it has absolutely nothing to do with chronological age. It’s about attitude and mindset! I did promise my mom I would be successful when I grow up. And, I plan on keeping that promise someday... You're as old as you decide to be! Don't make excusses and laugh when you look back.

As much as I love to skydive... I'm not convinced it's better than sex! Maybe your not doing it right?? Talk to a good (sexy)instructor and get some professional advice. However, I don't think you'll find any information in the SIM?? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Air Bags deploy based on delta V (change in Velocoty). The computer takes into account several factors and deploys the system only when Delta V reaches a specific point. I have a really good video I show my "Know your Car" students. I'll try to copy the part about how the computer uses sensors to determine the rate of change in velocoty. It all sounds very complicated, but in reality is very simple. If the airbag did not deply, it's because there was not sufficient Delta V. Many times, if you impact another vehicle, crunch zones and so forth work in you favor. Hope noone was hurt! Drive carefully. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Skydive Wissota Saturday after Thanksgiving??
skyjumpenfool replied to skyjumpenfool's topic in Events & Places to Jump
OOOh. I just talked to Proz… He said he’ll bring the mud. I’ll be bringing one of my notorious Blended concoctions to soothe the pains of those in need. Carl E. reminds us that Chip is a club… It’s always nice if we bring food to share. I plan to leave Plymouth around 7:30ish. I‘ll pick up anyone interested and be making a stop in Baldwin. After that??? It’s up to the group. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -

I'm driving over early Saturday morning (after thanksgiving) from the Twin Cities and have room for 4 more. Cessnas are flying... Let's make it a five way, or maybe even a formation load?? Contact me or Skydive Wissota if you can make it. Make sure your rig is in date. http://skydivewissota.org Livieri 612-280-9046 If the weather is crap, we can always find something to do... How about... Who was president during the "Truman" Administration? Otherwise, like earlier stated, read the SIM. And remember, there are no stupid questions. As for all the rude, mean, pretentious jerks who post mean hearted things... Most of us are just killing time here until we can jump again. Don't take us too seriously. When it comes right down to brass tacks, skydivers will go out of their way to help you out. Keep asking questions! More importantly, keep skydiving. See you at 13,500 feet... I’m tossing the Red Flag… I want to see the instant replay before I accept the Troll Ruling! -
Thanks - more ideas for lousy neighbors?
skyjumpenfool replied to dive_craver50's topic in The Bonfire
Kill them with kindness! My wife taught me this one many years ago. Unfortunately, it works. Be sweet as pie and go out of your way to be neighborly. Some day (my neighbor to the north took 12 years) they will apologize for being a Dickhead Asshole Looser. And, will beg for a chance to be a good neighbor. In the long run, it’s worth it. Now, the Dickhead A……. L….. even offers to cut my grass when we go on vacation. My wife and I never fail to have a good laugh at his expense. I agree!! and besides, that's what grandparents are for! Cheap, reliable babysitters. Wait! Let's change that to "NON JUMPER" grandparents. I am getting up there in age, and the idea of babysitting is, well, ... "Oh Shit"... Damn, I didn't think of that... New Post... What do you guys think about grandchildren at the DZ?? I tried to stay in the sport when my kids were young. But this issue along with finances convinced be to take a break. The kids are grown, and I'm back jumping. My situation is different than others. My wife doesn't jump. So, it just was not a family thing... Other sutuations may vary. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Bill hit it right on the head! Too many arm chair parents... You and your lovely wife, however, have a dropzone brat (that's a kid raised on a dropzone). She grew up well supervised with a clear understanding of dropzone do's and dont's. There are several of these GREAT kids on our DZ. What irritates me the most are the whoofo parents that don't see the inherent danger to kids (not to mention the skydivers) And, as Bill has pointed out, "a skunk smells his own ass first". There was a woofo with a camera who was taking pictures of his kids (3-6 years old) hanging on the prop of the 206 that was parked outside the hanger. I told him that the owner of the plane probly wouldn't appreciate this behaivior and that it was one of the top 10 stupid things I've ever seen a parent do. He did not appologize, but instead, yelled at the two boys. Telling them what a stupid thing they were doing. The rest of the day, these two were running all over the place with Dad in tow. Out in the landing area, in front of the Otter, Hanging on this, pulling on that... These were probly really nice kids... but, Dad needed a good swat upside the head! Kids at the DZ... OK Idiot Parents at the DZ... No F@%##& Way Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

My Daughter wants to jump
skyjumpenfool replied to BaronVonBoll's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The only time I ever get nervous in an airplane ride to altitude is when one of my kids is on the plane. That's something you'll have to deal with! Otherwise, when they turn 18, they will notneed your permission. In fact, at age 16 they should have the tools to make most of these decisions by themselves. That is, of course, if you've been a good parent so far. Time to let go and see what happens. Unfortunately, not everything will be good and you'll have to sit back quietely and watch them make some mistakes. Keep us posted...
