  1. You found out before marrage, and more important, before you had kids!! I know it's tough right now, but, when a little time has passed you'll agree it's like seeing your reserve inflate at 500 ft... Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  2. Well! I personally am a little pissed off at this poster. Nowhere in his post did he mention Big Way CRW?? So, you think your too good for the Crew Dogs? What's up with that?? monkycndo... I want to buy 3 full bingo cards! And, I got 50 bucks that says if this guy lives long enough, he ends up a crew dog>>> Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  3. I can't believe no ones gotten this right yet... Correct answer; TIP THE RIGGER! Let's go make a jump. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  4. Nice Pick! Very clean lines. Great color. I'm ready... lets go riding! Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

  7. Been riding these damn things for almost 40 years... You have great brakes if you know how to use them. My first thought was, why did it take her so long to innitiate her stop? But, having been there, I envisioned here with one eye on the rear views trying to decide wether to hit someone sliding in front of you, or, being slammed into from behind by some lead chunck of Detroit Iron that takes nearly 3 times the distance to come to a stop as your litre bike. She did what she could! ...And, survived. That's better than most. Nicely done, and very fricking lucky! I bet she'd make a great skydiver?? 8. Last group of pics... Thanks Joe and Paula for the great time. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  9. ... or, maybe because no one (like johnrich) bothered to look for the owner. It all goes back to the OP's original question... It's not my job? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  10. Yes, It's a POS bike! But that's not the point. To some poor schlepp kid, it was the end of his life as he knew it the day it was stolen. So, anything you can do to find the kid that owns it is way more important than the quality or cost of the bike. Pay it forward brother! 11. I'd like to elevate this conversation into an all out bitch session (if I may?)... That's the problem in this world today! "It's not my job"! People today are not afraid of hard work. In fact, most will lay down right next to it and go to sleep. "It's not my job!" That attitude is why were in a recession. Everybody's "entitled" to more. But, how dare you ask me to work hard to get it. God forbid I should be forced to carry my load! “It’s not my job!”….. Bull Droppings! It’s everyone’s job! Stop bitching and complaining and get to work. No more freebees. With all the people out of work today, start replacing the lazy with the hungry. It won’t take long for Mother Nature to step in and thin out the herd. If you’re not willing to do the work, there’s someone else (with kids to feed) who is!!! 12. I can't believe no one's gotten this right yet. The first and still number 1 Cartoon Vixen........ Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  13. Quote... "Sometimes on windy days, tandem masters get Sand in their Vagina" That explains a lot! Again, I love being a lifelong student of this sport. Just when I get to thinking I know it all, the torch is relit?? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  14. Cool! And, I'd like to be there with my video camera when you start to ride. That type of footage is priceless. Califoria is a long ride from here, but it might be worth it. Nice idea Squek! Alway good to know who your true friends are. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  15. Well, then how safe was the ice? It's been below 0 here for a couple of months now. The ice is probly close to 3ft. thick. It'll take a couple months of above average weather to melt the ice. We have plowed two lane hiways on our lakes in the winter. We can usually drive our cars on the lakes well into March. As for more pics... Poker game at my house this Saturday, Stop by and I'll put all the pics on a disc for you. PM for address. Below... #1 lots of great woofos getting a positive look at our sport. #2 Really cool 2WD Motorcyle with studed tires. #3 Joe sliding in another tandem student. # 4 The infamous "Super Dave" takes on a snow bank. 16. The motorcycle helmets you’re thinking of were probably the "soft shell" style that were popular a few years back. The idea was, if the shell was made from a soft compound, it would absorb some of the shock from impact. Most finishes are solvent based and give off gasses as they cure. Some of this "off gassing" occurs long after the finish is dry. Certain soft shell compounds deteriorated as a result of this off gassing. Carbon fiber is like fiberglass in that it uses either Polyester or Acrylic resign to bond a "fiber" based cloth or matt. The shiny surface of a carbon fiber helmet is usually gel coat (clear or colored). It's sprayed into the mold first; before the fiber is laid up and is what you see when the part is removed from the mold. Gel Coat can be sanded and polished to a high finish. Also, gel coats can be painted with any of a number of finishes as long as it is prepped correctly. They are not (normally) affected by off gassing. Anybody with any "auto painting" experience can help you out. Imron or other catalyzed polymers can be used, as stated above. However, just applying a quality clear coat will do the trick for a lot less $$$. One last thing, these types of finishes can be expensive and require highly skilled professionals to get the job done right. Any catalyzed polymers give off dangerous gasses and require specialized safety equipment. If you want to do the job yourself, some auto paint suppliers will mix paint and put it into spray cans for you. Or, use the stock, off the shelf, paint that they also sell. 18. What do you get when you cross several diehard jumpers, a helicopter, and a frozen Minnesota lake?? Yes, this is where Grumpy Old Men was filmed! A very healthy group of skydivers came from all around to participate in this year's Frozen Helicopter Boogie held near Center City, MN. And no, the dog pictured (Smidge) did not jump today. However, she does have several skydives and is expected to apply for her A licence latter this year. Post your helicopter boogie photos below... 19. I was just about to jump in with a "Ditto at my home DZ" when I noticed... Don? Is that you? Yep, seems like every load theres something going on. We even did a few (really cool) hybrid jumps last year. Mix it up and enjoy! Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  20. We've never met, but just the name "SKYMAMA" intimidates the hell out of me! Anyway, a little intimidation is not always a bad thing... Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  21. Exellent! Now, can you teach me to spell?? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  22. Hey, don't go overboard on the safety stuff, you gotta have a little fun.... Here in Minneapolis, we're near Brainerd International Speedway were you can go out on various "Track Days" and get some road course training. Also, there is the Dakota County track where you can pay a small fee and get road course training. This is really good stuff to hone your skills after you get up and running. I'm sure, if you check around, your area has similar opportunites. Check them out and have some fun. Just don't be in too big a hurry to learn wheelies, stoppies and shit... http://www.ar-web.de/motorrad/bike/galerie/galvideo.htm http://www.ar-web.de/motorrad/bike/galerie/galvideo.htm Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  23. You've gone through all the trouble of pulling them out. See what it costs fot new bearings! You've done the hard work already. if you're in doubt about the condition, just put new ones in. Some are sealed bearings (not all) that don't need service. Ask yourself, "do I want to take this apart again any time soon"?? You might want to check out some of the aftermarket stuff available. They tend to be cheaper than factory parts and the quality is usually good. I'm in the process of pulling my head bearings out of my ZX11 and I found that Dennis Kirk sold bearings at half the cost of OEM. If you check out the magazine adds, Dennis Kirk will match their price. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  24. Absolutely! There's a lot of great smaller bikes out there. Every manufacturer builds one. Just don't start out with 180HP straped between your legs... I love the new 250 Ninja!! Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  25. This response is going to sound like it came right from the SIM>>> If this is your first sport bike, any 600 class bike is like a newb jumpen a velocoty 98. That's a lot of bike to learn on. What I would reccomend, is to pick up a nice Kawasaki 500. There cheap, docile, and handle well. If you have a mild crash, one that doesn't hurt you, it'll be cheaper to fix. Spend a season on that, then downsize..... or in this case, upsize. If you're really looking for advice, learn on a dirt bike, then go into a 250 cc sport bike, then the 500, and so on... If you're ever up north, let's ride! Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
