You are mostly correct Pete! Taken at the Oshkosh Air Show. This is the Freedom Fliers Demo team that did the airshow for a few years before the Liberty Team took over. Those were great demos. Randy Iverson owned the Beech 18 that flew us around the upper midwest doing airshows, state fairs, ect. Sitting in front pilot/jumper Jim Hankock Kneeling left to right… Pete (the pup) Anderson, Mark Hernick, Gary Hoffman, T-Bone Meyer, Randy Iverson, Russell Willis Standing Greg Pillan, Don (Sweede) Gillsheimer, Mark Braun, Ted (Sax) Saxarude, Mike Livieri, Stan Cronister, with Mike Hayden sitting on the wing. This picture was posted on facebook by Cheryl McMains. Thanks Cheryl!! I'll try to find more. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

This laptop doesn't have a USB. But, my lab at school has 34 brand new machines that do. I'll just have the kids re-capture on Monday. They love doing anything with Skydiving footage. They learn, I reap the bennifit. Now it's just a question of wether to completely re-edit, or try to drop in the new clips?? Anyway, thanks for all the help!! = : } Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

I once did a handstand on the roof of a car going down I-94 at 60mph!!!! Hell, I've got no business preaching safety to anyone. But, I have reservations about the art and practice of swooping. Not because I want it banned or because I think it's unsafe. But, for one simple and clear reason... Too many of my friends have died doing it!! OK. Here are two pics I just took real quick... One of the cord I was using One of the computer using Vegas in capture mode and the TRV-19 that was in playback mode. As you can see, Vegas is capturing this clip using a USB port???? This laptop does not have a fire wire port. The clip will capture, but, very low quality. As experienced in my project. Keep the feedback coming!! I'm learning tons. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Here you go... Bonehead Mindwarp Sony TRV-18 Cannon G-10, Nikon D-40, or Nikon 2020 35mm Finley ring sight w/ custom mount. Skytronic FX audible Cam Eye II The rest is custom built, carbon fiber and aluminum mounts. The still camera just slides in and out when the Video Camera is removed by undoing one Velcro strap. Shown with G-10, but, I also use a Nikon D-40 or a Nikon 2020 35mm. It takes me about 15 seconds to swap out cameras. I often shoot just video and it is designed to do that as well. When I do, there is very little sign of any still camera mounts, just a small slot in the Carbon Fiber video cover. My goal was to make it snag proof. I've decided there is no such animal. But, like you guys all know, we keep on trying. I love the G-10 and I'm currently designing a new setup with it, and one of those small new video cams. My goal is to cut the weight and size by at least 1/3. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

I have several cameras available to them. I think they used one of the other (Cannon) cams.... However, it is indeed possible (in a round about sorta way) Pinnical Studio comes with a USB converter box that we have used. But, not in this case. Yep. I figued that out about 15 minutes ago. So, back to the drawing board. This kept me guessing until I opened the clips in the media folder. If this was a rendering problem, those clips should have been good. They were not. I had my students do the captures. I think they used the usb instead of the fire wire. (Although they swear up and down they used fire wire) I'm going to recapture this weekend and completely redo the project. Bummer. But, I'm learning Vegas as a result and it was a good experience for my students. Thanks everyone for the help. I learned alot. and.... (in my best Swartzanator voice) I'll be back"! ______________________________________________ Licences???? Oh damn. I really thought this was going to be a great thread!! You said that you were going to be "a very bad girl"! Who cares about the passport?? Now, about that bad stuff?? ..... >>>>>>>>>>> Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Well, I'm baffled. (of course that doesn't take much). I'm going to attach a screen shot of one of the clips from the Media file for you to see. I think the problem is either in the video capture or the camera?? Altough when viewed on the camera or from camera to TV the quality is vrey good. This is from a captured clip, notice the quality around the subject. This is before the rendered file.

Lighten up Chuck! I said the DZ put an end to this last summer! Here in the great north, month 05 is considered spring. Hell, we have snow on the ground till July! Sorry if I misspoke. And, I’m in no way trying to make excuses for, nor do I condone Tandem CRW. The point here is; this activity was stopped!!!!!!! To clarify, I don't remember the exact date, but it was (as stated above) long before your post. I have no knowledge of your private phone conversations or PM's. (thank god) I never said (or didn't mean to say) I was any kind of expert. I just wanted to applaud this DZ's decision to correct this situation. Now you’re saying my rating should be pulled??? For what, defending a good safety decision on the part of a DZ? I don't know what led them to make this decision, I only know they did! Whether you believe it or not, THEY DID! Am I typing too fast for you? I was NOT involved with this. As a camera flyer, I do not do CRW. I even hesitate to do docks when flying CRW camera. I'm in no way condoning the idea that CRW with Tandems is safe!!! Please stop reading into my posts. I am, however, in agreement with this DZ's decision to end this behavior!! 100% I’m simply trying to point out the positive side of this situation! ... This activity has ended! What is it that you're not happy with here??? You apparently have a hard on for this DZ and now, even for me? Let's end the personal attacks and look at the situation. A bad policy was corrected by a DZ and student safety was improved! This is a good thing! THAT'S WHAT I'M DEFENDING AND APPLADING!

I can’t stay quiet any longer! And please excuse my writing skills in advance. Next time, before you start calling for heads and bashing people, get all the facts first…… The DZO’s, S&TA, and Instructors at the above mentioned DZ put a stop to these practices long ago. Well before this thread was even started. From my limited knowledge of this, they decided that even though they had a couple of the best damn camera fliers alive (mad skills doesn't even cover it), and even though they had a great safety record, they believed this activity to be dangerous. So, they put a stop to it!! None of these practices were allowed at this DZ last summer. A great decision by the DZO’s, Instructors and all involved. Proof that these are smart, talented, safety minded folks who run a GREAT DZ!! In fact, I’m proud to say, it’s my home DZ.

Once again, I'm learning a new program. This time, it's Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum Edition. I've captured a bunch of clips from my Sony TRV-18. I’ve edited, applied transitions, titled, etc. I then created a DVD using Sony Architect. I played it back on a TV, a Projector, and on several computers. The quality is horrible! (And I'm not just talking about my sucky video flying skills.) The video shudders and flickers. There is considerable video "Noise" for lack of a better term. There is some ghosting or shadows around objects. And, there seems to be little skips or missing frames. My questions for ponder are... What might I be doing incorrect. I've seen good video using these technologies. Am I capturing wrong? Using incorrect settings or formats? Do I need to create the video file differently? Any suggestions how to clean up the video quality are appreciated. thanks.... Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Any back end afficionados out there?
skyjumpenfool replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in The Bonfire
Although I'm only allowed to appreciate from afar these days, I'd say that is, indeed, very nice. But a few more pics from a couple different angles would be appreciated. And, Skymama, that is just wrong! Sorry. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -
How do you pick out your handle? Well, where can I start...... Hmmmmm???? Let me think...... Daaahh! Some handles just speak for themselves. = : } Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Earlier this summer, I watched another skydiver do a hop n pop and land in the middle of a large corn field to locate a friends main canopy. This is not a smart thing to do, but, skydivers tend to look out for each other. It's why we love this sport. So, take a walk in a cornfield... what goes around, comes around. "Jumper" or "Skydiver" ?
skyjumpenfool replied to airtwardo's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Agree with Mike... Jumping can mean anything from bungee jumping, to cliff jumping. Woofos need more information, thus I tend to use diferent words. And, for skydivers, I find it's always best to use "smaller" words... hee hee hee... Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
