Can we use our old F-111's for this? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Where are you located? I'm betting there's a Crew Dawg nearby that would be glad to stop in and do some coaching. Edited to add... Another technique that you can try is to do Center Docks, and walk your way out to the outside line. This will give you experience flying a stairstep before you do offset docks. Once in the stairstep, the low man should keep an eye on where his canopy is flying in relation to the upper mans leg. If it starts to creap up (go light) a little ouside front riser will compensate. Once you're comfortable flying a stairstep, doing an offset dock will be less scarry. Welcome to the dark side. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

I truly do not have a horse in this race. I'm just a Newb with an attitude. But this I can tell you.... I talked to two separate DZO's in the last week about this. Neither has signed up for Pro's service. Both said basically the same thing... it went something like this, "it's too expensive! If it were cheaper, we'd be all over it." More importantly, they were upset because they felt like they would be losing customers to a "misleading" (I believe that's the term they used) website/marketing approach. It just seems to me that Pro has an opportunity to capture a market and keep it. If they get greedy, competitors will pop up and under cut them. If they resort to dishonest business practices.... Slyride II lawsuit - The Sequel. Be smart! You may not get rich quick, but life is a marathon. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

How about fair/honest trade regulations over the internet? Yah... I know that's never going to happen. Here's a suggestion. How about making it affordable for every DZO so they WANT to participate instead of feeling like they HAVE TO participate. ProSkydiving... Why not just charge a minimum fee and make it so cheap that it would be stupid not to participate. I would think that if you got 90% of the DZ's in the US, you could still make lots of money and have everyones support. Win, Win!!! You're on the right track... just don't get greedy. Also, if you get established and are priced right, other businesses may not bother to compete against you. Be smart and honest all at the same time. There's a novel approach. I don't remember the name, but I live here in Minneapolis and I was jumping in those days. Come on out to Skydive Twin Cities. There are some old timers here that may have crossed paths with her. Can you give us a little more background?? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -
What is the best thing to do when you are low?

Wow... a large group with mad skilz? Cool! Seriously though, if you're ever in the area, I'd be happy to do some crw with you. We start out slow and work from there. The great thing about CRW is that there's always more to learn. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -

I have nothing against Golf. It's just not high on my list of things to do. As a matter of fact, it's right below kissing fire hydrants and sniffing differential lube. Just not my cup of tea.

Well said!! But, I'm not sure this is a new thing. I can remember hearing this same conversation about us "kids" back in the 50's and 60's. In truth, I think we've just migrated from being the "punk kids" to become the "Old Farts". To the OP... You're not being blasted for your question; rather, you're being attacked for the tone and condescending manner in which you ask the question. Also, don’t be so quick to confuse feeble attempts at sarcasm as criticism. Oh! And, the whole lighten up cupcake/princess thing….. Funny Shit! I'd venture to guess that Woods is not happy with this add, but Nike, by right of contract, decided it was a good idea. What's the old saying... "There's no such thing as bad publicity!" Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

An alternative would be to go talk to the folks involved. It may be, remember, that you are not correct in your assumptions. It’s possible there’s information you’re not privy to. The best way to find out is to talk to the Horse… of Course. If your right, get it on video! It'd be a great thread. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

I've been using the TV settings at 200 ISO under good lighting. Works fine! see attached. I know Scary was playing with the manual settings to see if he could get off more shots, but I've found I can click enough pics for my needs. Keep in mind these attached pics are reduced size in ordet to be uploaded. I think I sent you the originals. I've croped and enlarged these and they look great. USPA and PIA Issue Joint Skydiver Advisory

Additionally, (and especially in these forums) there’s the likeliness that "vested" individuals will skew the information to their liking. Come on, we’ve all seen it. In turn, semi-woofos like me will take said “skewed” ramblings as fact and proliferate it into legend. I agree raw data would be nice, but I’d rather see verified information from reliable sources. I will admit, however, I’d of like to have seen this information before I just bought a new rig?? Mark… should I be worried? I ask this because he’s a knowledgeable rigger who has good information, knows my gear, and I trust him. Based on this advisory, each of us should be asking our riggers the same thing. Should I be worried? As always, IMHO -
Let's see if I have the facts... You're returning to the sport, 7 jumps, You've been having landing problems, Next jump is on new gear, And all this you want to attack with a leg that is 90%... The human body is a marvelous thing! Give it time and it will heal. My suggestion (and I speak from experience on this one) would be to wait until the leg is 110%. IMHO Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

"Time-In-Sport" as criterion for instructional ratings?
skyjumpenfool replied to GLIDEANGLE's topic in Instructors
wouldn't you really rather contact someone you know and trust at the candidates home DZ and ask a bunch of questions from your friend about the candidate instead? I think referrals go a long way in making this whole topic a moot point. You get the stories first and THEN call to verify. Ya gotta let 'em roll out enough rope to start with. I like how you think That line of thinking alone is an advantage to those with "time in the sport"... everybody knows old farts embellish a story better than pups. Talk about long ropes!
