I am currently still in the Navy. I am 6' 0" and 220. The height weight scale says I'm supposed to be 201. How is that you ask? They take measurements around the neck and waist every 6 months to get a body fat percentage to make I'm not "fat". Have you ever seen the guys that play for the Army/Navy football teams? They do the same thing for them. The question is, is he fat or muscular? Talk to a recruiter about the other options for height/weight. So basically they arrested him for pot, not obeying the police officer, and trespassing. Question 1: Trespassing on what? The Bridge? Was it because he wasn't in his car? Question 2: Did he have a prescription for the marijuana? There really is no excuse for getting busted in Ca for possession of marijuana any more. Question 3: If he had done what the policeman asked, would he still have been charged? Anyone who has dealt with the police in Ca knows the answer to that. The question was rhetorical. I would have jumped too. Everyone wonders why the police have such a bad name. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. From some of there current rulings, there are some wack jobs on the supreme court also. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything

I agree with you statement about there rulings are not always popular. But what constitutes "behaving"? And what is the process for judges that don't "behave" on the bench? My problem is in the court room judges have absolute power. I'm fine with that. Being in the navy, a captain has absolute power over his ship. The problem comes when the judges abuse their power and rule in contrast to the rule of law, justice, or even common sense. The ship's captain will eventually be held accountable for his actions, a life time appointed judge won't. I strongly believe they should be. There are some bad ones out there. I 100% agree. We need to get rid of the 9th circuit judges. I got a problem with judges to begin with, but wack job life time appointed judges need to go. How do you get rid of a problem like that? This is great. From your post: So how would you describe this? And the saga continues.... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything

[sarcasm] Now that I have seen the video I have seen the error in my ways. I now know that everything you have ever said is right, to include that what is missing from my life is a large veiny leather studded cock shaped sex toy.[/sarcasm] Or would doing that make me gullible/close-minded? Your analogy is a little off. It's like saying: -Criminals carry guns -Cops carry guns, so why aren't they criminals? It's more like: -People who target civilian populations are terrorists. -People who target terrorists to protect the civilian populations are not. You are confusing actions with outcomes. Here is the story: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-20024321-504083.html There have been numerous people going through in bikinis and what not. I got a feeling this is going to become a popular form of protest for the TSA. Side note: She does look good for 52. I wander what kind of surgeon she was, plastic maybe? I still say a good bench mark for if the military is ready for LGBT troops is when it will be socially acceptable to have Coed showers. I say as a social experiment we should coed the showers tomorrow. If I'm going to be eye candy, I want some to look at myself. If a gay couple can shower together, why can't I bring in my girlfriend? Feds: Car-bomb plot busted at Portland tree lighting

Love the article. Here is some of my favorite quotes: A point I have been trying to make in another thread. I wonder what airport security looks like. And do you think they learned their lesson? Talk about towing the party line. At this point I would like to suggest to readers to go back and re-read the first quote I pulled from the article. Pretty funny stuff. The tea party is one one of the few organizations that have actually tried to pursue and drive racist from its ranks. Meanwhile the left is constantly playing the race card and defending the black panthers rights to intimidate voters. The lefts favorite chant? "Black people can't be racist." Way to tow the party line like a good mindless drone. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Yes, and getting rid of the wire taps, threatening to prosecute CIA agents for doing there job, and implementing the pat downs and body scanners are Obama's doing. To me these are all things to stop being proactive on the war on terrorism and going to a reactive stance. Instead of actively searching out these guys, we'll just wait for the next guy to try to commit a terrorist act. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. First off, Clinton ignored the attacks on the U.S. Terrorists have been at war with the U.S. for a while. Or have you forgot the USS Cole, the bombing of U.S. personnel in Bahrain, WTC attack number one, and a few others I know I am missing right now? Bush, after 9/11 had a lot fewer attacks on U.S. soil in 8 years than Obama has had in 2. That is including 9/11. Why do you think that is? I partly believe it's because of the CIA feeding info to HLS. What have all of our "Home Grown Terrorists" have in common? Why you are correct if you said they were in contact with a radical Imam over seas. Do you think we may have been able to identify them earlier if some of Bush's plans were still in effect? I would have to say yes. The only way your phone would have been wire tapped under Bush is if you called Pakistan and mentioned a key word like "bomb" for example. Your line would have flagged. To me this is a lot less intrusive than what is going on today, and a lot more effective. Whats going on under the current administration is the equivalent of placing an ambulance at the bottom of the cliff rather than a fence at the top. We should be identifying these guys before they get to the airport. When the next guy to try to bomb a plane has a bunch of explosives shoved up his ass, what is going to happen to our searches next? Do you really think it is appropriate to do a body cavity search on a 3 year old? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. $200 is a pretty good deal. How many laps did you get? I pay about $200 for four hours of open lapping at my local race track (not nearly as nice as the Dubai track) and I have to supply my own car. I did spend $1700 this year for a full day in a Formula Renault car. Tons of fun, but I think I am done driving Formula cars (too expensive) and will stick to driving road cars on the track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuNclPBcyPs It was one hour for $200. I got one hour in a Ferrari and one hour in a Lambo. I don't know if they offer the same deals any more. Fast cars to the general public is probably expensive. This was several years ago. But Arabs have all the money. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything

Anyone in an area that has one? Mostly I would like to know if it lives up to the hype. Verizon is starting to roll out it's 4G Network. My contract is coming up. Verizon is one of the most expensive providers out there. I may consider staying with them if 4G will give me some advantages that I don't currently have, like dropping my internet provider and just tethering my laptop to my phone. Does it's performance compare to a Cable modem? Or at least DSL or somewhere in between? Also, can you surf the internet and make calls at the same time? Inquiring minds want to know.... While spending some time in Dubai I got to hang out here for a while: http://www.dubaiautodrome.com/ For about $200 US I got to drive a Ferrari and a Lamborghini around the track for a while. They got the prices up on the web site. A UAE Durham usually hangs at about 3.5 per dollar. Definitely worth the time if you are that way. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. With all of the hype about the TSA, who do you think it was ran better under? Under Bush and his various heads of homeland security, he tried to come up with a "no fly" list, wire taps, and other things to get to know who was getting on the plane, and hopefully stop them. Under Obama and Janet Napalatano, you have body scanners and body cavity searches (or at least they will be coming soon). He has slowly started dismantling the CIA, and taken apart many of Bush's security measures. So, who had it right? Question for the left: Why were the wire taps illegal, but someone sexually assaulting you OK? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. there were no fraudulent votes. thus there can be no 'source' that shows there were fraudulent votes. if you find a source then you can get back to the thread with more than your opinion

"... the stupidity is breathtaking.".... Lovely quote, eh? LOL < I was going to quote that! I like the "you know why we are doing this." Answer is common sense has been removed from the equation. If they would have allowed him to go through without the extra attention and someone would have asked why, he would have been fired for "profiling." Or as the left would call it, "reverse profiling." Re-read the story. They started following him around when they learned that he had contact with an "unindicted associate" in Pakistan's Northwest Frontier region. Probably the reason you won't see the whole story is because they don't want to give away sources. It would suck to have a good source in Pakistan get his head cut off for cooperating with the U.S. to find terrorists. To me, this is just another reason why we should be profiling instead of searching 3 year old blond haired, blue eyed girls from Minnesota or silver haired grandma's from Iowa. It wasn't a pat down that stopped the terrorists attack. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss."
