  1. That's great. So you are advocating the mental screening of every person in the US? Simple fact of the matter is, some people come unhinged slowly over time, some people snap in the face of severe trauma and some people spend there life teetering on the edge of sanity. Today they are good, tomorrow, not so much. And they may be harder to diagnose. You may not like the system set up the way it is, but it's probably as good as it's gonna get. Once you introduce the human factor into the equation all bets are off because we are so damn complicated and unpredictable. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 2. Come to Jesus and be saved!!!! The end is coming soon!!! Repent!!!! Sense we are pushing beliefs on each other. There has been four warm periods in the last 700 years, 4 Ice ages in the history of the earth, and Mann's hockey stick graph can only be replicated by falsifying the numbers. Glaciers are coming back, the polar bear population is increasing and plants need CO2 to convert to Oxygen to live. It was called "global warming" when we thought the climate was getting warmer, now it's "climate change" now that we are in a cooling period. Do humans effect the environment? Probably. Does anybody know how? Fuck no. Are liberals willing to destroy everyone's lively hood based on what they "Believe"? Fuck ya. You can put a jar in the sun and say it's global warming, but small scale tests sometimes don't pan out when you go full size. Have you ever tried to fly a 30 foot paper airplane? Until we know what all the causes and effects are, let's ease back a little shall we? Or until then.... Repent ye sinners!!! The Devil is coming to get ye!!!! Come to Jesus or burn the the eternal pits of hell!!!! "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 3. Readin am fun da mental What am name of thread ???? and then think about what you put in that post???? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Think deep thoughts before post I have thought long and hard enough to know that two wrongs don't make a right. What exactly are you trying to say? I guess it makes sense in your mind..... The hypocrisy on the left sometimes knows no bounds. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 4. Too bad the industry guy he chose is going to drive the economy further into the toilet. Do you really know Immelt's history? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything

  6. What's that thing you are always accusing the right of? I just can't think of it...... I think it's called, oh, I don't know, hypocrisy? I forgot, that word only applies to the right...... 7. Obama recently names Jeffrey Immelt, CEO of GE who also owns NBC/MSNBC, as his new economic advisor. Unless you have been living under a rock, there is no need to go into what big cheerleaders those news stations have been for Obama. Also worth mentioning, GE has really been pushing the job killing CO2 cap and trade bill, another liberal holy grail. To really get a grip on how in bed Immelt is with Obama, you have to read the story atached. So much for cleaning up Washington. What did he say about lobbyists? I forget....... http://www.npr.org/2011/01/21/133106946/obama-names-ge-ceo-immelt-as-economic-adviser "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 8. almost. well that right there is enough to repeal concealed carry in all 50 states... this place really needs a sarcasm tag. I hadn't read that account Bill... have a link handy? Probably not the exact web site bill got the story from, but it does cover the story. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/01/armed-bystander-shot-hero-disarmed-az-shooter/ From your story: Obviously an objective reporter with no axe to grind. I walked by a guy with a gun the other day and he didn't shoot me. Are we going to call that one a near miss too? I feel lucky to be alive. The man was a responsible gun owner. He didn't go in guns-a-blazin'. Calling this a near miss is like crossing the street in a cross walk with traffic stopped and then running the story "I almost got ran over today." Maddow's take would have been "it's statistically proven that most Americans think red lights mean "go". "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 9. It would be fear mongering if the law wasn't in the works of a very liberal California legislature. Since it is, then I guess it's just reality. When i used to shoot professionally, I used to load my own. Anyone know if this law is going to effect, say, just the ordering of just the lead on line? 10. A free market will find a way. With the banks not giving loans to small businesses, and the loans they do give coming with high rates, penalties, and closing costs, Peer to Peer Lending is getting more popular it seems. I did a google search and found lots of Peer to Peer lending groups. I'm just happy to see the banks have some competition. I hope more people turn to these and maybe even start coming up with ways to work the payday lenders out of business. I just heard of Peer to peer lending. Does anyone have any experience with it? This is where I just saw it: http://video.foxnews.com/v/4498732/peer-to-peer-lending Like I said, I think It's a good thing. The banks need a little competition.
  11. Which was actually my point, as much as you want to morph it into something else. Then go after her over policy. But jumping the other side's shit just for the sake of the bash is pretty childish. It's not just for the sake of bashing. Did you here her comment on you tube? She is clueless. It's the icing on the cake. The comments on her idiocracy will end when the Dems in the house quit electing her to leadership positions. While she is still having the country serve her (as opposed to her serving the country) she will still be a target. When she goes, she will soon be forgotten, as opposed to Bush, who the Dems can't seem to let go of. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 12. I've been wondering that, too. My tentative conclusion is that he had a psychotic, delusional obsession with her, not dissimilar to the psychotic, delusional obsession Hinckley had with Jodi Foster, or the psychotic, delusional obsession Mark Chapman had with John Lennon. Thus, I really don't think Loughner's crime was truly politically motivated, except in the psychotic, delusional synapses of his own mind. Mental illness and psychotic paranoia were the true causes of his crime, and random chance just happened to direct the focal point of that psychosis into a seemingly-political form. I invite any shrinks or therapists reading this to opine on whether they think I'm on the right track. Not to rain on your parade, but I think you are thinking to far into it. He was a 21(?) year old boy who was lost in his own state of delusion. When the dust settles, I'm pretty sure the stated reason Giffords was picked will simply be that she was geographically the closest Government official to his location. 13. I have to agree with Scruffy. This president has lead the polarization of the country. He stood up and said what needed to be said at the memorial, but tomorrow he goes back to Washington. We'll see what he does next. Actions speak louder than words. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 14. This bothers me just as much if not more than the westboro baptist fucks. Freedom of speech is not to be fucked with IMO. It's against the law to yell "fire" in a crowded theater, and it should be against the law to use unrelated funerals to make political protests. There are exceptions for lots of freedoms, and I'm okay with carving out another exception to preserve the peace and dignity of funerals. Those Westboro bastards still have plenty of other places they can practice free speech. I agree. Common sense says that my rights end where your rights begin. If the Westboro nut cases are visible or disrupt the family on their day of morning, there should be serious consequences. They have the right to protest, but the families of those who have passed have the right to bury their fallen loved ones in piece. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 15. The Video's were shot back in 2006 if I'm quoting correctly. Why didn't he get charged back then? Why are they bringing it up now conveniently after DADT was repealed? The timing of it all is suspect. Somebody might be wanting to make a statement. Just wish they could have picked a shit-bag officer to do it to. And for the record, water conservation IS a big deal on board ship. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 16. As far as I can tell, he was either fired for not being politically correct, or he is the first victim of the DADT policy being repealed. Everyone that I know that served under him said he was one of the few good Officers that actually cared about those he commanded. The Story with a few videos: WARNING!! Videos are unedited!!! http://www.navytimes.com/news/2011/01/navy-enterprise-videos-skipper-fired-010411w/ God forbid anyone in the military having a sense of humor. 17. I understand that a President can't know everything about everything. He will need help from time to time to make informed decisions. That said, this president has delegated all of his authority to his record number of Czars so he can go on his eternal campaign. He has shown time and time again he has no clue as to what is in the monstrous bills he has signed, or the effect those bills will have on this country. There needs to be limits set on numbers and authority of the Czars and some kind of vetting process. The President needs to have some clue as to what is going on in his administration. 18. One of my friends that I have in this area is a doctor. He makes probably close to $200,000 a year. Now lets take a closer look- $100,000 goes to medical malpractice right off the top. Then he has to pay for his 8 years of college. I think in the grand scheme if things, I take home more money than he does. And he works close to 80 hours a week to boot. Kind of makes me wonder why anyone would want to be a doctor. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 19. It's not laziness, it's that the government has become to complex for the average American that has a job and a family to follow. And even the few that do try to follow end up arguing with those that are believing the lies spewed by the media. Please re-read post 6 of this thread. To further make my point, go to any thread in this forum about health care or the mortgage melt down. Even those that profess as to know what is going on can't agree on anything. Everyone knows they want change. No body has a clue as to what kind of change is needed. Stossel thinks that a smaller government that is easier to keep an eye on would be a good start. I tend to agree. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  20. Doesn't that make it more imperative that the 3rd guy not be a crybaby? Only if you are worried that guys #1 and #2 are going to fall off the scene. When was the last time both the Pres and VP both disappeared? You know something your not sharing? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 21. Through your elected representative. That's how the system is supposed to work. You seriously thought that was a good point? Yes, yes it is a good point. Our elected officials tell us what the lobbyists want us to hear. The media, which is supposed to be the watch dogs are becoming more and more biased. The only way to know the truth about what is going on now a days is to research things your self. Your counter argument would be valid if the system actually worked. 22. California's term limit law says he can't have served 2 terms after Nov 6, 1990. Since his terms of office were before that date, his term limit clock essentially said zero when he was elected. 23. Spoken like a guy that either likes to have his junk touched by a strange guy, or, has a job that doesn't require travel. Some jobs have long distances and short time lines. Don't think that for some people a car, train, or bus is an option. Or are you just indifferent to anything that doesn't effect you? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 24. So the TSA isn't treading on peoples rights? I got news for you. Sometimes my job requires me to be 3,000 miles away and back again by the following week. Driving, even though right now I would be willing to do it, is not always an option. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 25. Of course you would think that Stossel appeals to idiots. He is for less government. If you don't want to watch the hole thing, that is fine, but he makes a good point in the last 2 minutes: We as Americans have lives. We don't have the time or the resources to keep an eye on everything the government does. 3.5trillion dollar budgets, 2,000 page bills, and some 10,000 programs. Each program with an army of lobbyist that know exactly when that program is do to come up on the house or senate floor. Do you know everything the government does? How can you keep an eye on them or hold them accountable? There is so much legal jargon in everything they do that if 2 people read the same passage, they would get 2 completely different ideas about what it's supposed to mean. Why do you think there is so much confusion about the health care bill? Seriously, how is the average guy who works and takes care of a family supposed to know what is going on? It's why the news has resorted to 30 second sound bites. It's all most working Americans have time for. The Government, ran by lobbyists, tries to give the appearance of a fair playing field without loosing their advantage. This really tends to fuck things up. The rules, like I said earlier create unintended consequences. And more to the point for you, all great countries though out history that have fell, came apart from the inside. I just want to know where all this blubbering was during the Reign of King George the Incompetent????? The rumbling started under "King George" and continued to grow stronger when "Prince Harry" and "Palosi Galore". It's now called the Tea Party Movement. Too bad your ilk are to busy labeling it "Racist, anti- womens rights, toe-tappen', extremists homophobes" to know what they really stand for.
