That's the easy part. I understand housing is pretty expensive and in short supply.

It seems to be a misuse of the very vulnerable refugees. It is also a brilliant ploy. There is nothing wrong with the rest of the nation bearing a larger share of the load. When it is a far away problem and is abstract it is easier to let others deal with it. If Abbott and De Santis put a little more effort into choosing and getting informed consent from their victims it would be hard to find anything wrong in it.

Well, it’s because it’s difficult to prove a negative. And it’s hard to think of anything more negative than the entity that people worship as God.

I'm sure Trump would make a shitty Prince of the Realm. And Harry would be a fabulous POTUS. But neither is possible.

And with no goal end game or purpose. Stop the conspiracy I want to get off. -
Side tracked. Being here is silly.

Sitting on BoDs to be window dressing? His Wiki entry about his current career is less than impessive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Harry,_Duke_of_Sussex#Civilian_career_and_investments There is nothing wrong with inheriting large amounts of capital and prestige, but it's not an accomplishment gained through effort.
-
???? Not sure what exactly you are talking about. Harry doesn't have any job at all other than house husband as far as I can tell. He's got the same occupation as brenthutch. Maybe he can join us an an "anti-troll".

There once was a "Contract with America". Didn't really work out well, but the message sold very well.

In Canada we are probably stuck with the monarchy for the foreseeable future. Moving away from it would need a change to the constitution and Canada is a pretty fragile coalition between Quebec and the rest of us. It's best to let sleeping dogs lie sometimes.
-
Well....the trouble with the monarchy is completely different from the problem with a populist politician. Institutional nepotism in choosing a Head of State is offensive to many people. Other people love the "tradition". For some unfathomable reason.
-
Like Phil said, a false equivalency. I should not have commented.
-
Why? Harry and the Dotard would both seem equally unprepared and unqualified. The monarchy is kind of quaint and relatively harmless. But completely useless except as a tourist attraction. Rather like a circus to distract the population.

About the same as his chance of becoming a feminine hygiene product.

Tall in the saddle, that’s Joe!

In the other half the people will just have to elect politicians who they can agree with I guess.

Not an EV at all. It is diesel electric and only has two hours of battery endurance. The pumper in WI uses a Cummins diesel to run it's pump. I can see why the veterans are doubtful. I guess most of the miles put on these machines are not actually to fires where all the power is needed, so maybe there is a place for this system. In general trucks are not going to work well on batteries at this time in history. A fire truck that spends a lot of time in a station house being charged and cleaned may be an exception.

I'm pretty sure that renewable energy is cheaper than natural gas. And the spread is only going to increase.

Maybe this....? https://osf.io/jrw26/ But more likely this, which is not actually recent, but 10 years old. https://www.businessinsider.com/study-watching-fox-news-makes-you-less-informed-than-watching-no-news-at-all-2012-5 Although the major point of this study is that Americans are ill informed in general.

Yes, they are now and will continue to be a niche brand in the overall automobile market. But that doesn't mean EVs won't be dominant soon.
-
All electric? Even the pumps?
-
The explanation of that price is here. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2022/08/30/fact-check-dealer-gave-30-000-estimate-replace-volt-battery-electric-car-hybrid/7935230001/ Basically that battery is a hard to source obsolete part. Most EV batteries are far cheaper. The whole thing is a just an FB/social media slam.

Edit, billvon beat me.

Dude, I'm sure your children are beautiful. But did you get their blood tested for purity of DNA? You never know.......
