  1. The true desired outcome of all these policies is to force smaller government with less services. It is like a holy mission.
  2. Probably because you shamelessly name dropped and referred publically to the meeting that you now are insisting on privacy over. The only "details" he asked about was where the subject at hand came up.
  3. I think you have vastly over estimated the power of the office of POTUS.
  4. The America Taliban branch of the GOP is coming out and showing it's true colours now that it feels all powerful and emboldened. A new meaning to the chant "lock her up, lock her up, lock her up". https://www.cnn.com/2022/09/20/politics/abortion-bans-murder-charges-invs/index.html
  5. It's like buying a house beside an airport and then complaining about the noise. Those Texans just want to be able to visit Boy's Town in Nuevo Laredo for a good time, or whenever the power fails, and then shower the filth off when they get home.
  6. Would you like to be tricked and used by politicians? Probably not.
  7. The far right wants to limit immigration to white people. Preferably ones that can speak 'Murican. You know, from non-shithole countries.
  8. You should read that political screed again if you found any reference to 4.4 million asylum seekers in Texas. Although it has a number of alarmist projections that seek to justify a wall on the border all of the numbers I could find refer to "contacts with illegal crossers on the SW border". Which is far bigger than even Texas. Like I said, in all of the world there were 4.6 million asylum seekers last year. I agree that there is a problem and has been for a long time, and that it seems likely to get worse as the world economy deteriorates in the near future. But spreading hyperbole is not going to help it.
  9. Are you sure the correct number is not 44,000?
  10. It's funny how this is an issue Texas and Florida can't deal with but California somehow muddles through. That said some national burden sharing is called for at this time. Where did you get that number from? All I can find is a figure from the UN of 4.6 million asylum seekers in the world for all of 2021.
  11. And that's the issue. You are just brushing off the effect on the poor people who are in such a bad situation that they are seeking asylum. You appear to have not even a hint of compassion which is very easy for anyone if they do not have actual first hand experience with those. And then when anyone comments you again brush it off with a bullshit comment about "panties in a bunch". Relocating the refugees to other places in the country to spread the burden around is not wrong. Rounding them up and lying to them then arranging for them to be greeted by FOX at their dumping off point is very wrong.
  12. They need the support of Airdivr and friends. Not just support but motivation to actually go and vote. One more vote for cruelty. These are the same people that would support camps for Japanese Americans during the war. It's easy to forget that they are real people and not just refugees.
  13. It changed in the 60's when Nixon used the southern strategy to take advantage of the resentment caused by the struggle for civil rights. There is no reason to think that another change in alignment can't come. Actually with the demographic shifts coming it is pretty much assured that changes will happen.
  14. And speak funny while being brown.

In the end that is all that matters in a Senator. Will they vote the party line consistently? Same goes for both sides.

Ron is on a team. He sees his team the same as he saw his unit in the military during his glory days. His thinking revolves around justifying and supporting his team. It is how he has arranged his life and it is the only way he can cope or make sense of the world he is temporarily living in. And he needs enemies just as much. Fear and loathing in GA.

The “enemy”? Do you mean Satan?
  18. I always thought “Brett Favre” was a brand of shampoo. A bit of a sissy name.
  19. The MAGA crowd is energized as always. Many of the rest are disheartened to say the least. The mid-terms will be an important bellwether and will determine how much power Trump has to lead the GOP.
  20. Information is power. And it now seems that misinformation is also power. Who knew? I mean besides Goebbels and the like.
  21. And no doubt an "old stock Canadian" who inherited it. I wonder what he will leave for the next generation?
  22. Nutcase like that didn't just come up with those ideas. Somewhere in a deep dark corner of the network that has revolutionized our society there are people spreading this stuff. Sharing their paranoia with each other for fun and some for profit. As he shares his insight with you he is like a Jehovah Witness trying to draw you in. I would assume that you didn't bother wasting any time trying to enlighten him. It would be pointless. BTW, Justin is controlled by Satan, in case you didn't know.
  23. Maybe they can send some to us in Canada. The MAGA crowd would eat that up.
