And he has no political power. He can't even vote.

EVs are cheating. It's not fair to have such an inherently efficient motor.
-
In a parliamentary system most likely the sitting MPs of the party in power would choose an interim leader. One who would promise not to run for the more permanent posistion. Being the deputy chosen by the previous and in this case deceased leader would not be a major factor.

The greens? You mean the majority of the population that accepts the concept that CO2 is increasing and warming the planet, those greens? A warmer atmosphere is a more energetic atmosphere. It is not a giant leap to more energetic storms.

The rise and fall of the empire has been epic. But it still has a way to go before it becomes just another shithole country. Like Russia.
-
Improvement? Hell no. If you are going to have someone that far out in charge it's better that it should be an easily seen through and ineffective buffon like the dotard.

You would think he is aware that he would not survive that. But he may not care anymore.

Italy had Berlusconi for many years. Somehow they survived that and they will somehow survive this. Oops, he is back as a Senator now!
-
I guess it depends on the period. But taking on debt and lowering taxes seems to be a tactic used to hobble spending policy.

You are probably correct. Truss wants more immigration for instance. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/liz-truss-immigration-rules-relax-shortage-occupation-brexit-b1027904.html She would seen to be a classic fiscal conservative more than anything else.

Good Lord, that's some might fine peyote.

All true. In Winnipeg housing is much more available and cheaper. And yes, even professional mothers have a career end with no pension plan. It won't be pretty.

That's why you need to have 4 or 5 kids to be a pro. And then you get subsidized housing as well. And GST rebates. Then maybe a side hustle as well. No one is doing well on this, and you need to have your wits about you to access the programs.

It's complicated and how much can depend on where you live, but yes. There are several different programs at the federal and provincial level. All people with children get some level of support if they are working or not. After a certain income level it decreases. And it is taxable so it can be clawed back. Much like the refundable tax credit system that is now cancelled in the US. Like universal healthcare it is one of those things most western nations do that somehow the US can't afford.

If you have dependent children we will send you money to shelter and feed them. I remember the Clinton era reforms, but not the details.

My wife has a niece who is a professional welfare queen. 5 kids, an unknown number of fathers, and no job for decades. Snow white as hell and a personality best described as bitchy. She is the black sheep of the family for sure. I'm guessing her kids are not going to do well in life either. She is not likely to age well.

Dog fighting and the kneeling thing are both things that push highly emotional buttons. Brett's sin is just typical influence peddling. Boring by comparison. But one thing is for sure. Favre's career is over now. It's pretty hard to measure the effect of race on the coverage and outrage. There were a few athletes of various shades who recently were shamed for being anti-vaxxers. Was there a colour line in the coverage of that?

Must appease the NDP to stay in power. I know, let's hand out temporary rent subsidies!

Riggers often pro-pack on the floor. Which is just a technique of pro-packing. It can look like side packing to a non-rigger. It is also how BASE canopies are usually packed. The classic side pack that is often improperly called a flat pack is not done with reserves anymore.

I'm wondering if because it is a civil matter in a civil court the penalties for not following court orders are less stringent. Mostly financial. The judge did impose sanctions and limits to his arguments because of his lack of cooperation. -
Historically the Russians have had very harsh ways of dealing with conscripts who won't fight.

One more reason why bigger is always better for reserve canopies. -
The POTUS, any POTUS is never in agreement with higher interest rates. Never have been and never will be. That is why the Federal Bank needs to be insulated as much as possible from the politicians.

Out of curiosity, what are some of the things the Ds stand for that you don't care for? My biggest problem with the left in Canada is their tendency to go too far in spending programs. Although I consider myself a liberal I worry about the level of debt the nation is taking on.

Ask Steve Bannon. Actually I believe he will do time for contempt of congress, not court. He is scheduled to be sentenced Oct.21. Most rich people have good lawyers who will advise them when they are getting close to the edge and make sure they don't step over it.
