Here in Manitoba the Province controls distribution of spirits and most of the retailing except in small towns. They have nice stores in the city, way over priced and of course over taxed and all staffed by union personnel with public sector benefits.

We just imported 6 lbs of US made rubber bands for the DZ. Nothing unusual about that. Except for the 25% added tax (called duty). To add insult to injury both GST and PST are added to the bill after the duty is added. Yes, there is a tax on the tax. Canadians will need to be careful about ordering US made parachute gear.
