  1. I knew people who lost their lives. On the other hand my wife made a good amount of extra money working overtime in ICU. And trucking was good.
  2. The outrage from the right side of the spectrum has already started. They can not believe that their team had failed once more. Predictions of the collapse of society are flying everywhere.
  3. Some Americans may be aware that today is Election day in Canada. Of course the Dotard just could not resist a tweet... “Elect the man who has the strength and wisdom to cut your taxes in half, increase your military power, for free, to the highest level in the World, have your Car, Steel, Aluminum, Lumber, Energy, and all other businesses, QUADRUPLE in size, WITH ZERO TARIFFS OR TAXES, if Canada becomes the cherished 51st. State of the United States of America,” Trump wrote Monday. To which I quote Burton Cummings. "Coloured lights can hypnotize, sparkle someone else's eyes. Now woman, stay away. American woman, listen what I say."
  4. If you worked in one of the over run hospital ICUs who managed to save many lives at the absolute edge of their capacity during the peak, with all elective surgeries cancelled and all available resources being used you may think the lockdown and "bending the curve" was worth it. In the perfect 20/20 vision of hindsight it may have gone on longer than needed in some places.
  5. I just packed one into an older Javelin this week. I pack it every year. Yellow and not labelled FCI, old enough to be Glidepath. My customer weighs about 180 and he had a ride on it last year. Uneventful landing. Some people seem to think that PDRs are the oldest reserves that work. They are wrong.
  6. There is nothing new here except of course the banner it is being published under. The reins have been taken over by conspiracy believers. But how is that worse than theology believers? Where is RonD when I need him to explain?
  7. Kerry was no good because of inadequacy as a swift boat commander. Hilary was no good because she is a harridan. Kamala has a funny name and a weird laugh. The machine has no problem identifying the D deficiencies and exploiting them to the point that a dotard is certainly a better choice.
  8. Of course they are. The problem is not the people. It turns out there is a flaw in the system. Namely the basics of the Constitution. When it was set up and the power was divided up in a way that all the states could agree on the union was not the mighty powerhouse it is today. Instead of the power going to the people directly it went to the people through the individual states. This ended up concentrating power in the hands of a man called Trump instead of one called Washington as originally envisioned. With no practical way to remove him. I can see no easy solution at this time. One day, but not soon, there is going to be a second revolution and the nation will become more democratic. Either that or it will break up.
  9. The future is looking a little cloudy for the USA. The national debt is too high and that combined with the madness and wavering in policy is beginning to cause a lessening of confidence in the safety of the dollar. Good leadership and a little willingness to prioritize the things that matter are obviously not in the short term plan and probably not in the longer term either. Hopefully things at least stabilize after the fever breaks when the clown show finally ends. Most likely this marks the end of an era but what the new era brings is a very open question.
  10. I was going to jump in, but then I remembered this is not SC.
  11. It is not the same. Just as wearing a fig leaf is not the same as being naked. But it may as well be.
  12. It's caused by the same thing that causes wokism and TDS.
  13. I find it somewhat telling that even you acknowledge that an ICE enforcement team justifies more hysteria than one responding to a possible active shooter.

    Trump

Maybe he is a genius. A genius at fraud.
  15. That's nice but it still has a lot of room to drop further. It is currently still up 40% from this date last year.
  16. Unlike other corrections this one is caused by something that will affect the economy and not just markets. So it will not be just a short term decline and there will be real effects for everyone. MAGA.
  17. Yes, that seems to be the pricing strategy. Meaning as the cost increases the profit margin must go down as will the stock price.
  18. This is the main reason for CRM training. Overcoming cultural biases and authoritarianism.
  19. Exactly. Trump will be POTUS for 4 years. There may be some changes to production for some products but the price of building factories combined with a labour shortage in the US makes it very unlikely those kind of investments are going to happen. Instead the new taxes on imports will drive inflation. The damage will come fairly quickly and at a significant level.

    Kim was right. Dotard.

    Trump

Although the gesture in the Senate is largely futile I see it as somewhat heartening to see that this is one of the few issues seen as worth risking the wrath of the head MAGAt over.
  22. Cory Booker is making a big play right now. Is he looking to replace Schumer or something larger?
  23. He actually has good reason for this kind of talk even if he has no intention of going through with it. A second term POTUS becomes a lame duck after the mid-terms. One who can find a way to keep 'em guessing, less so.
  24. It's been 5 years already? Skydiving is something that takes a lot of desire in order to progress. In this world only a tiny fraction of people find it to be worth the time, money, and risk. Have you told your mother of your decision? I'm pretty sure she is or will be quite happy.
  25. Maybe we should give him what he is looking for......a little empathy.
