The finding was of liability, not guilt. There is no conviction in a civil case.
-
He was neither convicted nor did he plead guilty, unfortunately. He got sued and lost the tort case.

You have a two party system. The real choice is not between candidates it is between parties. No one should be surprised at Walker's support. Many of the R supporters on this forum held their noses and voted for Trump for the same reason. The base is the base and does not change.

May’s Global Temperature coldest in 9 years

Maybe someone rotated the picture to make it show fake news! -
The nanny states make hard and fast rules that are mandatory. You can not operate an unaffiliated DZ in what I call a nanny state. This gives too much power to groups like BPA. In my opinion of course,
-
Only if it is mandated by a government.

I know almost nothing about wingsuiting. However I do know that the wingsuiting community seems to support that number as an absolute floor.
-
Yes, Britain and France are among the Nanny States.

Just because some of the houses in that picture are still standing doesn't mean they are not damaged beyond repair. But yes, move away from the coast and into storm shelters. Much more sensible than trying to limit climate change.

Hey mod, be careful with the pedo jokes!!!!

One party tolerates it and embraces it. One does not. As others have pointed out.

trump and Musk. Two Nuts the Squirrels Missed for Winter
gowlerk replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
Musk only cares about what would make things better for his plans. The war in Ukraine is disruptive to the world economy and slows him down from achieving his objectives. Just as COVID restrictions did. -
I block their posts and get some amusement from other arguing with them. The audience here has become pretty small, without the trolls there isn't that much going on anyway. It is SC, let them S.
-
Well it's actually two bridges. One for a highway and one for train tracks. So they took out the supply bridge and left the retreat bridge.

When something is true and accepted it gets repeated. How is that an echo?

I love it when Wendy is goaded into speaking plainly. It even made me break my personal rule and read the drivel that led to it.

The safest thing for the population as a whole would be to outlaw skydiving.

Why are there so many fatalities this year?
gowlerk replied to alfonso904's topic in Safety and Training
You seemed to object to USPA "promoting" CP through competitions. As if you felt it was wrong. -
Also easy and simple. The days of 2K were already pretty much over. Changing to 2.5 did not impact anyone. No one cared because we all had long since stopped opening that low. It merely formalized what had become standard practice. We did the same thing in Canada.
-
Because it is a reasonable limit that most participants are willing to accept. That's how it works, just that simple.

Why are there so many fatalities this year?
gowlerk replied to alfonso904's topic in Safety and Training
The problem here is that you think the risks that you choose are acceptable and that society should be okay with them. But you also think that others take risks you wouldn't and that should be stopped. The level of hypocrisy you exhibit is one that I would like to see ended. But you have a right to your opinion and I will just have to accept it. Do you get the point yet? -
Because it would piss off so many people that it would be ignored or even drive some DZs away from USPA affiliation. Only in the nanny states where the local association wields real power can such rules be enforced. Skydiving is an adult sport and people make adult decisions for themselves without consulting you or anyone else.

Somehow you think that a remote pilot would work for free and that the control systems would be cheaper than the stick and rudder in current use? Remote or autonomous flight with people on board will be insanely expensive.

Or, he could just take orders from the PM. A clear demonstration of real power. https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/02/uk/uk-charles-climate-cop27-gbr-intl/index.html King Charles III will miss the upcoming COP27 climate change summit in Egypt, CNN understands, after British media reported that Prime Minister Liz Truss advised him to drop his plans to attend. CNN understands that the King’s attendance at COP27 had not been confirmed and following consultations with the government, there was a joint agreement that this would not be the right occasion for Charles’s first overseas visit as a sovereign.
-
Yes, in theory. But if he did without the advice of the PM it would likely lead to a crisis and the end of the monarchy. He has absolutely no real power.
