Despite this contradiction over who opened the door, the basic facts of the attack are not disputed in the documents: 42-year-old David DePape is accused of breaking into the Pelosi home and attacking 82-year-old Paul Pelosi with a hammer. DePape is being held in San Francisco County jail on attempted murder and multiple other felony charges. According to court documents, DePape was looking for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Paul's wife, and threatened to break her kneecaps.

    I’m not sure about that. Several times while driving a very loud semi I have heard the sound of a motorcycle approaching from the rear before I saw it in my mirrors.

    When Canadians hear Americans talking about owning guns to defend their homes they don’t really know what that could be all about. It’s just such a strange idea. Even those of us who have guns don’t keep them in a state where they would be useful in the middle of the night when someone has broken in.

    Vote counting in the US is pretty reliable. I don't recall a re-count changing a result by more than a small handful. And that brings up a point I have been considering for a while. Despite all the worry about election shenanigans going into this election it has been a remarkable clean and fair affair. It looks good on the USA.

    Other than gophers who are you defending your home from? Unless you are shedding those guns by destroying them you are just transferring ownership of the silliness to another silly. But hey, baby steps are how we all learn to walk tall some day.

    Of course the problem is not crypto. Gambling with customer funds has brought down many "clever" over leveraged operators. The currency used is a side issue. The level of misunderstanding and hype around crypto just made it easy to the point of almost inevitability.

    A few young skydivers I know who are basically labourers for a living were all about getting rich "investing" in crypto. I'm not sure how they did, they aren't really talking much about it anymore.

    In other words you know almost nothing about the real circumstances or you don’t care. The only thing that upsets you is that you perceive that theoretically someone else might be treated differently. This is typical right wing thinking these days.
