  1. NPR and APM have chosen to completely abandon Twitter. As I'm sure many individuals have done and will do. Elon has enough money that he can afford to toss it away. Good for him, bad for Twitter. It's possible to go broke without going woke.
  2. It makes me a little uptight to know that people feel such an amendment is needed.
  3. Don't look now but InBev stock was up 2.4% today. On a day the rest of the market was down to flat.

I get my info from the same sort of sources the Russian trolls do. I make it up.
  5. I would think that any man who refers to his wife as a trophy has a low opinion of women in general and his wife in particular. No wonder he thinks Harris is a whore, what else is a woman after all?

They will do no such thing. Even if Putin is out of head enough to give such an order it won't be followed because they don't have enough of them to destroy all of the west. The Russian Federation has a lot of land, but only small areas that matter. They will not commit suicide to advance the glory of Putin. The Russians are cowards at their core.
  7. As someone posted earlier Dominion is owned by a private equity firm. No doubt that firm has the resources to pay for the legal talent needed to win this case. It always would have been a gamble, but private equity is a game played by sharks. They gambled and won big time. This settlement is worth many times the value of Dominion. They took on Murdoch and won. It was never about justice and they never needed an on air apology. Money talks, bullshit walks.

Russia is having it's butt kicked again because it is a POS country that doesn't even deserve to exist as a federation outside of the Moscow area. It is populated by corrupt elites and drunken peasants. Hitler would have controlled it if it wasn't for the west bailing Stalin out because we wanted a third front. Russia is a joke of history and will shortly be flushed away and divided up between China and the west.
  9. Not quite ready for the toppermost of the poppermost, but working hard.
  10. Too bad about that. I guess McDs, Burger King, and Wendy's are all screwed now. I'll take dark meat please.
  11. Yes, but after awhile you've just had enough chickin and you want some cow. And a Bud.
  12. The whole campaign is about attempting to appeal to a younger audience. They got a ton of free advertising, so it may very well actually work and boost sales. Or at least offset losses among the Kid Rock crowd with gains from the new target group. Lousy beer is getting to be less popular overall but there is still a huge market for it. I wonder if the Disney boycott is hurting them. One thing is quite clear and that is corporate America is mostly run by smart well educated people who are among the most woke in the nation. The deadenders of the anti-woke crowd are going to find themselves with some hard choices as they search for politically incorrect businesses to patronize. I mean hell, they will get tired of Chick-fil-a everyday soon enough.
  13. This site should publish a count of users who are the most ignored Sort of an ignore-amous rating.
  14. Up a little over 1% today while the broader market was down. It will recover quickly as speculators lose interest in this event.
  15. Good Lord, my kill list is getting bigger all the time.
  16. Not in fly over country where I live!
  17. Lord no. Kraft Foods is an American company. They know we are such wasteland that KD sounds good here. The best things that have ever come out of Canada are butter tarts and poutine. And butter tarts are nothing more than poor substitutes for pecan tarts while poutine is just a way to use up unfinished cheese. Our cuisine is pretty plain, you can only cover up so much with maple syrup. I mean hell, our best known restaurant chain is a freaking donut shop.
  18. Americans don't even know what KD means. It is called Kraft Macaroni and Cheese there. More classy.
  19. Well, maybe we should all just give the Roberts court a little slack. It turns out that they make less than 300K a year. We are talking about top level law talent here. With such low pay some of them are going to feel entitled to a little side hustle or even moonlighting. No wonder they never retire, they are already on a fixed income like a poor pensioner.
  20. No surprise there. He is being described as both a gun nut and a god nut. Perfect base material as he was apparently stupid enough to think he could impress his online friends with the super secret stuff and no one would ever know. If he plays his cards right he could be out in 20 years or so.
  21. I suppose the court system has always been heavily politicized. When I read about various justices being nominated I am often surprised at the senate battles that have occured. To my eyes the most objectionable thing is the Federalist Society and it's success in vetting judges throughout the federal system leading to the very contentious rulings lately that are part of the culture wars. And clearly the D side has responded by learning the game and is now feverishly trying to fill as many seats as possible with nominees they see as being on their side. But they are not nearly as organized about it as the other side has been for the past 20 years. This is just another aspect of what is required by your call to fight back. And Dianne Feinstein seems to be too proud and stubborn, possibly too senile to realize the roadblock she is causing by refusing to step down.
  22. It would. Especially because that would discourage far right part of the base. Without them the party might move back towards the centre in an attempt to stay in power. If only moderates could win primaries again.
  23. It looks as though this Crow fellow is bringing new meaning to the term "friend of the court". More like patron of the court.
  24. Apparently he once had an estimated net worth of $150 million. The latest estimate is negative $1.5 million. There is more than one reason for the fall, but tangling up with the orange money sucking dotard is the big one.
  25. Bill, could we have a (dis) honourable mention for the Llano County TX commissioners board? They are bravely trying to close down all their local libraries because a judge has ordered them to return some children's books to the shelves. Books that are promoting woke evil. Better to have no library than an woke one.See the story here: https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/12/us/texas-llano-county-library-banned-books/index.html
