  1. More to the point is that BH can still afford all the coffee he wants so it just doesn't matter.
  2. The standard around here is.... https://eclecticproducts.com/product/shoe-goo/
  3. Many would indeed do that. Obviously not all, and not the ones making all the sound and fury.
  4. You did not try very hard to research that one.
  5. Sort of like making cops use body cams. Or trucks having dash cams and driver facing cams. Everyone hates accountability whenever it it applied to them. Me too.
  6. Culturally I was raised Anglican, while it was never a big part of my life and at 9 years old I realized it was all fake, those early fables drilled into me have never completely gone away. In the '70s at 17 years old one night I had a moderately bad acid trip. I began to worry that I would never come down and it was frightening me. Even though I did not and still do not believe I can clearly remember asking Jesus to help me come down. He did not speak back to me, but indeed the drug wore off after a spell and it was all good. That was my only come to Jesus moment and it taught me something about the nature of belief. It is a big part of my understanding how and why some people choose or even need to believe in these powerful myths.
  7. As does a 5% increase. The Loonie has ranged from near par with the greenback since to about 75 cents or so today. And even bigger ranges that I remember in my lifetime. It has a strong effect on the price of aviation and parachutes as you well know.
  8. I paid for their education. So yes, I have. The guys with the tall foreheads keep saying that the national debt is not at all like a household debt. I'm not convinced either. Roughly the same thing is going on in Canada. One big reason that sovereign debt can be pushed off into the future somewhat is that here in both our counties both the economy and the population is expanding through immigration. This gives us a huge advantage over more mature societies with shrinking and aging populations.
  9. This is incorrect. The death toll will eventually begin to affect the lives of the elites and they will force change. The 2nd only seems sacred. And we all know that SCOTUS can change its mind on interpretation of the meaning of the constitution.
  10. Maybe so. The Farm Bill does indeed buy a lot of votes. But not just in farm states because more than 75% of the spending under it goes to SNAP. It is among the grandest of grand compromises.
  11. That right there explains a lot of politics.
  12. I hear that the Treasury Department's Secret Service (SS coincidentally) is still filled with MAGAs.
  13. Yes Ron, we know. Only your religion offers hope of salvation. Anyone who believes anything different is condemned to eternal damnation. Heard it all before and it is kind of sickening to hear it some more.
  14. They have allies in the pizza business protecting them. The Soros conspiracy still reigns.
  15. This desire to "harden soft targets" is surreal. Some Americans are willing to live their lives like that by choice. Live like the Israelis have had to do. Not because of ongoing threats by an oppressed tribe, but merely so they don't have to give up the thrill and enjoyment of holding and playing with the tools of war. Living with a potential threat that can come from any direction at any moment. It sounds like a very imaginative work of fiction yet it is daily life for no good reason.
  16. Maybe he is from the Ron school that teaches that analysis is not needed because it is all about "the feels".
  17. An armed society is one where those who get the first shot in have the best chance of living. Maybe the death penalty is needed in the USA to force a higher level of politeness.
  18. Alan Turing was pretty good at that sort of thing too. Or at least he was until he was badgered into killing himself.
  19. Yes, it is so wonderful that mass shooters can be stopped so efficiently. And usually before more than 5 or so innocents are dead. It's a wonderful world.
  20. Already the push back has started! But seriously I'm not sure that the extra expense of the capabilities you are speaking of will be of much interest in the tandem industry. The needs there are quite simple and already being well met.
  21. Gee, I wonder if she has professional speech writers and political advisors?
  22. I know. It’s so rosy that RonD will probably vote D in the privacy of the voter booth.
  23. Hockey. The Panthers are in the conference finals.
  24. I agree with your assessment of the economy. But let's wait and see what the MAGAs in the house can do to screw that up this summer.
  25. The much hated Hilary Clinton got more votes that the idiot who won the electoral college vote IMO it may be YOU who is not ready to vote for a female POTUS. What does being "ready" mean to you anyway?
