    The command and control system is designed to give the POTUS unlimited discretion and the ability to act with great speed in this area. He does not need to consult anyone, he just needs to summon the aide who carries the codes. SecDef and JSC may not be anywhere near the man when the time comes. Those further down the chain have no idea what the circumstances are, just that a firing order has been given to them. They are very well trained to carry out those orders.     I did a bout 10 jumps on a 169 demo. I liked it and I would consider buying one. Don't ask me for a detailed comparison to other similar canopies.     I was just wondering why everybody in Canada jumps a Sidewinder! What is it with Canadians and their Sidewinders? I don't know - I have about 3 Reflex customers who love their rigs. The construction and quality control seem excellent, I have no complaints with them or problems packing them. Sidewinders were made in Canada, and more importantly sold in Canadian dollars. That made them fairly popular, especially in the west. I have 10 of them as student rigs. I have one Reflex here, it's a rental rig and I also have no problem packing it. Everyone loves their own rig, that's not a good measure of the popularity of a design. The Reflex failed in the marketplace, probably for a combination of reasons. I'm not dissing them in any way.     Very true. Unfortunately a large part of the party, including the administration, is likely to continue undermining it.     That's going to be a very tough sell. They only two ways to improve it is to expand it's reach. Which in simple English terms means more government funding of a major social program. Or finding a way to reduce the profit margins in the system. If Americans want that they will need to elect more people who also want that. But they don't appear to be wanting to do that.
