    covid-19

Just a few minutes after I read that Boeing was dropping the mandate because of a federal court ruling. https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/boeing-drops-covid-19-requirement-222519465.html
  2. Discouraging people from breeding did not work out well for China and it would not be wise in America either.

Why do so many conservatives embrace stupidity? It’s not just in the US either.
  4. It's not that hard. Even snowflakes manage here. Sunrise today 08:22 sunset 16:28. We have electricity.

The US system of reporting data suffers greatly from differences in how individual states report. I have found that many other western nations provide more valuable information. Pay attention to the BBC World coverage for an easy way to access some of this.

He is not really an anti-vaxxer. He is a covid vaccine refuser. Which is not really a medical position. It is a political and tribal identity thing.
  7. None of the people in prison for drug crimes were ever billionaires. And no billionaires will go there. Not even the foreign drug lords were ever that rich. On the other hand many were known for acts of charity.
  8. No Jerry, it means at conception now.
  9. Of course not. I'm "pining" for people to recognize that fact. A little more likely to have at least some degree of success. We can not lift everyone to the same level. And we don't want to. But we all will be better off if the efforts to do more are not so bitterly opposed by some of those who can only see those with less as undeserving.
  10. Whatever it takes to keep that warm fuzzy feeling they get from "owning the libs".
  11. The point is that we do not start out equal. Winsor Naugler the 3rd had some advantages at birth that not everyone has.
  12. It is definitely going to happen. Homo Sapiens are thought to have existed for around 300.000 years. Our earliest ancestors that we know of about 6 million years. The Earth is about 4.5 billion years old. Nothing lasts forever. But I do agree with you that none of the many threats to our existence that we know of are going to cause our complete extinction in the near future. Not even total nuclear war would do that.
  13. You prescription is missing the "equal opportunities" component which is needed to make it functional.

The harm comes from making people think that they can rely on these instead of the proven vaccines.

It is nothing but a whole lot of wishful thinking with nothing at all backing it up. It is so meaningless that I am not sure why I even read it. Just what are you trying to promote with this post?
  16. We are of the planet and we are of the Earth. Children of the Sun. None of us know why, or what it means. But some try to fool themselves and others that they do.
  17. Just remember, the world does not actually need humans. None.
  18. They are generally considered to be good reserves. Younger people who know nothing about them will often say they aren’t. The resale value is relatively low, but definitely not zero. Every year I repack a couple dozen at least. People I know who have landed them seem to like them.
  19. I don't hate any of those people. The fact that some of them give away some of their wealth is beside the point. You and I don't get to choose the amount we contribute or who we contribute to. We just give Caesar what he is due because we have no choice. The real problem is that there are two classes of people. People who have earned income are generally the hardest workers and pay the most as a percentage. Those who are wealthy have various forms of income that are not legally considered earned income and so they pay less. Politicians allow this because they are paid to allow it. Earning money is for suckers and we all know there is one born every minute.

This is the bottom line. And it is going to become even more so very soon. The Omicron wave is going to be the worse we have seen by a large margin.
  21. Yes, I was getting it. Religions run the gamut from sincerity to cynical and everything in between. And it is often impossible to judge. So that rule is needed. But I wonder just what the rules are? Jeff Bezos pays essentially no taxes, did he claim status as a religious organization?
  22. Hell yes. Many of those churches are run by unbelievers posing anyway. Scammers come in so many flavours!

The unvaccinated make up over 90% of the ICU patients overwhelming the healthcare system. That matters.
  24. Sometimes your cynicism comes across as just anger. Sometimes it comes across as hard earned.
