  1. Hmm, just recently got to play with a suspended harness for the first time... Let me tell ya, it's fun, especially if you are drunk, and then you umm, pull the cut away and fall on your ass because you forgot it would drop you, ... BUt I still remembered to pull the reserve handle FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  2. I fly the Fusion which is made by the same company, it has given me nothing but nice slow soft openings (about 700-800 feet), and it gives me good flare so if you land it right it's pretty soft I guess... 4. Yet, at the same time, there are those of us who know there will be LONG layoffs between jumps and choose to stay at a pretty low wingloading, which it sounds like he may be doing.. I personally stay on a boat below 1:1 because I know that I may very well end up with half a year + between jumps due to military obligations... Dont wanna have a rig that I wont wanna jump when I have not been up in awhile... I plan on staying below 1:1 for another couple of years myself.. Just my 2 cents For the origional post, I really liked the Pilot that I flew, although I only flew it one time, I thoght it had a really good flare and it flew nice, but note the low jump #s, :) You didnt mention it, but I fly a PA Fusion now, I love that canopy.. 5. As a QA Inspector myself (although not with this industry, but QA is QA), the quick answer to that is 'NO'... For QA materials to be transfered the proper paperwork must follow it, and new paperwork is generated which allows traceability in that transfer.. To generate such paperwork, you have to have certain QA certifications and I'm assuming that you do not. FGF #??? I miss the sky... 6. Just got mine in the mail today Looks pretty nice, seems to be well made, should hopefully jump it this week! Came with a pretty cool T-Shirt too.. FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  7. Funny you mention, that very thing happened to me TWICE with an analog which had about 10 jumps on it.. Free fallin, 9k, cool... freefallin, 9k, wtf, beep beep... Canopy opening seemed to knock it loose so it read altitude again, watched it in the plane next jump, worked fine up, jumped it a couple more times then the same thing... Got a new one, still need to send the old one in FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  8. Ohh! That's me, almost... Alti 2, Suunto Altimax, one audible (protrack) and Cypress 2... Had two audibles until I gave one to a friend who lost altitude awareness and scared the crap out of me.. I like my toys FGF #??? I miss the sky... 9. The website still needs some work... But overall I kinda like most of it, or it's definately a good starting point.. And as pointed out, it is MUCH better than what they had, the old site was one of the biggest waist of bandwidth i've ever looked at.. FGF #??? I miss the sky... 13. This is why I dont pack also, my rig is a pain in the ass to pack, and it takes me FOREVER... I have also gotten those comments about "gonna get that thing packed this year?" etc. (go figure, we jump the same DZ :) Also very true is the fact that I work about 90 hours a week alot of the time, .. I really enjoy being able to just kick back and relax between jumps (which I get more of with others packing).. FGF #??? I miss the sky... 14. Ohh, and he did.. I'd reply back to him but I think I'm gonna be busy for awhile taking his advice that I should "Go f*** myself". lol.. FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  15. LOL... that's awsome.. Not only do they create fake sites stealing crap, (which saves them alot of work) THEY CANT EVEN DO IT RIGHT... Good stuff.... But what I really want to see is this dropzone that is open THIS much: I'm new so I may be ignorent of this, but is there a drop zone anywhere that's open till 11pm? FGF #??? I miss the sky... 21. May not be the same, but back in the day I had a head injury, a skull fracture with brusing and blood clot in the brain... I've been fine edited to add that CLEARLY I am NOT A DOCTOR.. So listening to me would DEFINATELY NOT BE THE RIGHT ANSWER I just know my own medical history and my own lack of long term problems. FGF #??? I miss the sky... 22. My canopy is also fairly new, and it's a pain in the ass to pack.. I've done it a couple of times, and it takes me FOREVER.. So instead of missing loads I want to get on, I let the packers do it MUCH faster than I can myself and to me that's worth 5 bucks plus the end of day tips I usually leave.. I also get to just relax between my loads, I like to hang out and BS FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  23. Thanks for the responses.., I will probably see if I can get some others to try it... As far as the turn thing, I did notice a slight left turn on it while flying brakes unstowed last time I jumped it and was actually really trying to pay attention to how it flyed without inputs, very slight, but that could have been the wind mabey? I'll try it again next time, mabey pull a little higher so I can have time to just see how it flys in brakes, and in different directions.. Once it's open, I love the canopy, and the turns on opening dont bother me too much right now, just know that it's not right whether it's my body position I need to fix or something else.. Will also probably check the lines closely before my next packing.. FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  24. I think I've spent more than average for my first year, especially considering wind tunnel time.. AFF - Aprox $1,200 (repeated level 3) Gear Rental $440 (prior to my own gear) Pack Jobs: Aprox $180 Pack Class: dont remember.. Coach Jumps: Aprox $450 (I've had quite a few, some of them for costs of coaches spot on plane) Wind Tunnel: Aprox $3500 Rig: $4500 Helmet/Alti's (1 wrist, 1 protrack, 1 proditter)/Jump Suit/Misc Gear: Aprox $1100 Jumps: Aprox $550 Video for first 2 jumps: $150 Over $12,070 since I started this sport in May Above figures figured at 44 jumps with 8 1/2 months in the sport, didnt figure in packing class, reserve packjob, tandem and some other little misc stuff like BEER.. Like stated, I think I'm a little above the average starting costs... FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  25. Yes, i did a search, and no, I didnt really find what I was looking for.. I am flying a PA Fusion 210, and I have been experiencing some off heading openings, pretty much EVERY jump.. The canopy has HMA lines and about 40 jumps on it since new.. The last jump I did, I really concentrated on stability and "continuing to flying into my opening", not that unstable openings have ever been a problem for me.. Once pulled, everything was VERY stable for the snivel (which took a bit longer than normal this time), no twisting, no turning, just a nice snivel.. As soon as the slider comes down and the canopy opens up it goes into a diving right turn, one time enough of a turn to give me a couple line twists then after a few seconds in levels out.. It has done this even when I've had it packed by four different people.,... Just wondering if anybody has any ideas? Does anyone else with a fusion experiance this? FGF #??? I miss the sky...
