  1. Hmm, yes, pictures pictures pictures.. SOMEBODY BETTER SEND ME THOSE PICTURES!!! And soon, before I leave!! FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  2. Standard: 885ft (270 meters) at a fall rate of 78 mph (35 m/sec) Novice: 1050 feet (320 meters) at a fall rate of 45 mph (20m/sec) Tandem: 2050 feet (625meter) at a fall rate of 78 mph (35 m/sec) Swoop: patent pending (I'll keep you informed about that one...) William I've sometimes wondered, and I'm sure there is a good reason for not having a mode such as this, but I'd like to hear what people think... Why not have a mode where the unit can be configured for say 1050 feet at 78mph for those of us who jump over uneven ground? I know alot of DZs have flat land all around, but there is some which dont.. I dont think I'll ever have an AAD fire, so the concern is really not *THAT* big of a deal to me, but just wondering.... I've figured that there are some areas around my DZ that I could be in freefall over that if I was knocked out, my AAD would fire too late at 750 feet... And if I dont have something out and slowing me down at 1050 feet, something is obviosly seriosly wrong already... FGF #??? I miss the sky... 6. UGG!! I'm SO mad! I'm getting ready to deploy this upcoming week, and my command just grounded my skydiving until the deployment is over I wont be able to jump this weekend, I was really looking forward to it... Just waisted my money on that reserve repack I will still be at Elsinore this saturday to hang out, so hopefully see some of you all there.. You think the pilots at Elsinore will let me fly with them for a couple of jumpruns? I gotta get up! It's gonna just suck to watch people all weekend FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  7. I've been looking forward to my first safety day since I heard that they have them Hope it's all it's cracked up to be Will also be my first time to Elsinore, looking forward to that too! FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  8. I have had t-shirts on from a DZ different than the one I'm at many times.. Nobody has said anything... Glad I have not noticed this kind of crap here FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  9. Jumping at Elsinore on Sat. ... Not decided yet for Sunday, Skydive San Diego? If I'm at SD we can definately try that six way again FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.

  11. lol... hmm.... uhhh... Too many, how bout that? FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  12. Thanks for the comments, and your right, I do know better than that.. I've read enough fatality reports to know better than that.. It was just in that situation I somehow figured what the hell, .. Like I said if I had any doubt of my altitude I would not hesitate to fire on my back (which as I posted earlier may have very well happened) .. People can dog the advice given on this site alot, but honestly I have learned a TON from people like you on this site and appreciate your comments FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  13. Too bad more people don't have this attitude. Not to critisize by any means, but why don't you have a RSL? Do you have a specific reason for not having or detaching yours? Actually, I do have an RSL.. People I've talked to with RSL say that they felt the canopy open before they even had a chance to get their d-ring, .. I didnt feel anything until I actually pulled, .. For all I know it could have fired on my back and just had alot of hesitation, but to me it just didnt feel like it fired on its own... There was alot going on in those few seconds, and it really makes no sense that it would not have fired, but I do know that I flipped back over before pulling my reserve and I didnt feel ANYTHING until I pulled myself (which was all in very short time) ... I've replayed it many times in my head, there is alot of inputs to process in that short amount of time! FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  14. Ahh, another cali diver! Yea, that'd be cool... I goto Perris sometimes, I will be at Elsinore for safety day next sat. (Probably go ahead and pass on the hanging harness stuff now ) I just do RW.. Was thinking about some FF, but decided not yet, wanna get better at belly first.. FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  15. Personally, I'm very happy that I got to find out.. Twisted as it may sound, I had a blast when it happened, I always thought it'd freak me out, I think I had the biggest smile on my face i've had in a long time.. Something I had always wondered was how I would react in that situation, now I know.. Only thing that sitnks is that I just had it repacked 15 days ago, the pack job only had 5 jumps on it, and after this upcoming weekend I wont be jumping for a few months due to military obligations, .. Alot of money for what may be 1 weekend of jumps! FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  16. That's awsome... That's one lucky girl to have a father like you! FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  17. Why did you wait to flip face down before deploying your reserve? Because I knew I had plenty of altitude (2500+ feet) .. Why pull on your back when you know you have the time to flip, .. If I had not known my altitude or even questioned my altitude I would have pulled immediately. I pulled my main, recognized a malfunction, cut away, and pulled my reserve all within about 6-8 seconds, had a reserve around 1000 feet after initial pull altitude.. I knew I had time... edited to add: I knew I had time because when I looked and reached for my reserve handle I distinctly remember seeing a bit 'ol 3.0 on my neptune I was amazed how cool headed I remained during this event, taking in and processing everything I saw immediately.. FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  18. ... Because that's the color of my reserve!!! Anyway... Normal skydive, get in the plane, leave the plane, try to form a 6 way star, never get more than the origional 4 in the star ... Break off, ... 3500 feet PULL! SMACK, WTF, I got spanked, canopy never done that before.. I'm immediately spinning on my back, look up and I see a huge mess with a line over in it, Look, grab, look, PULL, flip back to face down PULL, immediatly a WONDERFUL 193sq ft white canopy over my head.. I gotta give it to PD... That thing flew like my main, my reserve kicks ass.. According to paralog and my neptune, it looks like I leveled out at about 77mph after pulling for a few seconds, guessing that was my mal speed.. Crazy! I did SOO much in SOO little time and didnt even think about it, I saw a mess and my EPs just happened before I could even think about it.. The training worked! Also, my rigger kicks ass.. He had my rig to me before I went home tonight.. THANKS A BUNCH! Oh, and one more thanks, the most important of them all, Thank you God for keeping me safe and being with me through this VERY exciting event FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  19. Just got my first reserve ride on a PDR-193 ... My main is a Fusion 210 and this canopy flew as well as my main, the landing was great, awsome flare.. Reserve was fired by my RSL (most likely, assuming the RSL beat me to the pull) on a malfunction that had me in a spin on my back, canopy opened perfect.. I have not jumped any other reserves, and never will..
  20. I also scuba dive, and I get stuck at around 9-10 feet on EVERY DIVE I do.. It takes me some time to get past that point, (although once past that point I can usually move pretty freely under the water at different depths) ... I also had alot of pain the the pool because I was trying to force myself down in the 12 foot area too quick for me.. I have only aborted a skydive one time due to ear problems where my ears just felt funny on the way up, didnt feel like they were equalizing right... Wouldnt think it'd be a big deal to atleast ride the plane up to see how it feels, but then again I'm not a doc.. FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  21. Think I'm up to date, updated it pretty recently.. Will double check though... FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  22. Yea, second that... My neptune said it had a full battery still when I changed mine because it started acting funny .. funny being that it gave me an error instead of altitude when I exited the plane on a hop-n-pop It had also given me an error on the ground earlier that day .. Changed the battery and no more problems.. Dont trust the battery indication.. FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  23. I dont have that many jumps, but I have already yelled to people under canopy when I felt we were getting close and I didnt have the impression that they had seen me, just to make sure that they knew I was there... I personally, as another skydiver in the air with you, would like you to be able to hear me try to get your attention under canopy... I love my music, and I listen to my music loud in alot of different situations, .. However I just dont feel that the few minutes you are actually performing your skydive is an appropriate place for that music.. It's not just *YOUR* safety up there, it's all of us too. Just my $.02 FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  24. Why not just scratch the License level vs. Wingloading requirements and go completely with the "you must qualify to fly a certain wing loading" requirement? I like the idea of Show me you have the skills to downsize and we'll let you do it, if you cant then you dont idea... Just seems that this proposal has already kind of done that, since you can "qualify" for a higher wingloading or get "restricted" lower than what you license says anyway right? FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
  25. Care to go into more detail on why you would ever go into 1/4 brakes on any canopy in turbulence? Or is that "old" advice because it's not the best way to handle it? FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
