  4. ...than being at work on a Saturday night. Unless you're at work on a Saturday night and you're beside yourself with despair that you've already read everything on dz.com and no one's posting. That's even sadder. Taking nominations for new screen name.

Kelly, I fixed that link for you. Were you there today? I had to leave right afterward to get to work. Pictures Taking nominations for new screen name.
  6. Yep, that I knew, cause I think we've even discussed it around here. My question is...with the added performance of a smaller canopy, does that make even a 1:1 loading under a 150 sq ft or smaller canopy unsafe for a low-time jumper? Parachutist was certainly implying that it does. Taking nominations for new screen name.
  7. My canopy, a PD 170, has little wind penetration and tired flare, and I'm planning to buy a new Hornet this summer. I was going to get a 150, which I'd be loading at just about 1:1. I just finished reading the incident reports in Parachutist this month, and they blame one of the fatalities on a woman's loading a Sabre 150 at .9:1(!!!). "Some might consider her wing loading conservative," the report says, "but smaller canopies respond more quickly to control input than larger ones at the same wing loading." Thoughts? 8. Cool, thanks guys. Trent, I think this: ...might be exactly what I've been doing. I got one jump in yesterday, no spinning

    I'm sulking

Use the Seinfeld alternative. "What are you, some kind of...of...person who gives someone something then takes it back?" Or thereabouts.

*standing up* Me too. Time flies eh?
  12. Hell no! I'm parking my butt in Rantoul, my rig leaning against the back of my chair, a beer in each hand, and I ain't moving till I'm dragged back to the airport! Taking nominations for new screen name.
  13. Ah, the elusive bill-bytch. How early did y'all start drinking? There was a vaguely familiar number on my caller ID last night. Taking nominations for new screen name.

Speaking of glasses, I have a crush on Ashleigh Banfield. Taking nominations for new screen name.
  15. I'm learning to sit. I'm trying to start by getting the butt-to-earth position down. My problem is that when I go into this, I start spinning and I can't stop it, which is extremely unnerving. Anyone got any idears? Taking nominations for new screen name.
  16. I agree. But if there's any justice, she may have destroyed her career with that one "joke." Taking nominations for new screen name.
  17. Nah. Just a comment on your bagging a teenage virgin the day after you met her.
  18. I may not be a computer geek, or a movie geek, or even a beer geek. But I am a book geek!! Jean Auel's latest chapter in the Earth's Children series just came out, 12 *choke, wheeze* long years after the last installment. Twelve stinking years! I mean come on! If you're unfamiliar with her work, this is the series that started with Clan of the Cave Bear. Stephen King has described the genre as "sex among the cave people." Anyway, I now have 753 pages of pure literary pleasure awaiting me. I am beside myself.
  19. Thirty minutes? Insufficient. Taking nominations for new screen name.

  22. No, it was bad cause he was a jerk. But, I was so young (19) that I really didn't know enough to stand up for myself, and I suspect that's why he pursued me -- he wanted someone pliable and naive, and by golly, a 19-year-old will do nicely. So that's why I'm suspicious of someone who LOOKS for someone in a different age group. But being suspicious of them is different than condemning them, which I would never do. I've seen too many happy eyes for that. Taking nominations for new screen name.
  23. I need someone at least 21, cause if he can't get into the bar, he ain't gonna see much of me. Seriously, though, I agree with dove. I spent a couple of really bad years with a guy 12 years older than me. I didn't realize they were bad at the time, but if someone treated me like that these days, I'd kick him in the crotch and run like hell. Quite frankly, that experience led me to worry about the motivations of someone who seeks out a partner in a completely different age group. But what the hell, different strokes for different folks. I've seen some very loving relationships betwen people with big age chasms between them. Taking nominations for new screen name.
  24. Yeah, this is my thinking. The Hornet is the only canopy I'd be willing to buy new right now. A few hundred jumps down the road, I'll shell out for something fancy. Taking nominations for new screen name.
  25. God Phree, get a room! *looking both ways* *surreptitiously handing you room key* Taking nominations for new screen name.
