good point. Play with other people! You will learn about 40x faster. YMMV. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

but didnt fit into the whole 1993/94 theme. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

of course, if you're jamming with guitarists you run the risk of sounding pretentious as you try to explain that the Gmin 7 chord is actually what he calls the 3 chord with the finger down a bit. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

I always felt that it was unfair that hardcore pornography is usually blocked by company firewalls but that you could access famousfootwear.com. No matter what sort of pavlovian experiments i performed on myself I still can't get hard at the sight of a pair of pumps. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking. -
All geniuses and leaders in their field. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

I'll agree on technique (mine is pretty much the shits). However I am (or more likely was) as educated and capable regarding musical theory and composition than any classical musician I know (of course, only at a regional orchestra level). Of course, I'd been playing classical music since I was 5. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

A reporter once asked Hicks why he'd stopped smoking. His reply: "I wanted to see if Denis Leary would." TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

I have mail? This is the first day in several weeks where I've been conscious of anything. I can even feel my legs again! TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking. -
12 years later and it still sucks. 1993 - 1994 was a really rough time for me. excluding my personal chaos, my heros started dropping like flies. Frank Zappa, Bill Hicks, Fred Gwynne, Andrei Chikatilo. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

I try to emulate him. Unfortunately I've only got the hating people thing down. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

Easiest thing. Sit down for a nice movie together. Chasing Amy would be my suggestion. Then beat the stupid out of him with a crowbar. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking. -
I'm not sure you can have the words 'fuckin' and 'cross' within the same paragraph in the US either TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

it's not too much time. practice practice practice practice. muscle memory is your friend. When I had time and was learning I'd practice 10 - 15 hours a day Get a metronome if you want to measure it. Increase by a couple of bpm per week. Early stages are really tough, eventually you wont have to think about it. Like skydiving and any other skill. It just happens and you never have to think about it again, until you learn new chord shapes, and then its faster because you already have the basic mechanism down its just finding the RIGHT ones. It'll come, it wont feel alien anymore. Eventually the guitar is you and you are the guitar and then its like singing. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

It's not a question of fault, which is really what I commented on. mistakes were made, on the mothers part and on yours. Both of you seem to be .............. enough to not see anyone elses point of view. As a parent I can see why she's upset, but I think she was wrong. If you had given me age inappropriate material for my child I would probably catch it simply because it's something I'm generally aware of. However, coming from a collegue at work with whom I interacted and perhaps even respected I may simply take your warning as part of your recommending the DVDs as something that my child would enjoy watching. (PG-13 vs R rated materials mentioned above). Sure, you didnt think about why, but had I been her position 1) my child wouldnt have seen it and 2) I would have thanked you for your kind offer and then talked to you about your amazing lack of judgement with regards to suitable material kids to watch. Unless you truly believe it's not your problem, in which case in a couple of years that kids going to be really into sex and i'm sure you could lend him some of your porn collection. Absolutely correct. Nice avatar by the way. As a parent I keep all people recommending stuff for my daughter in the 'ignorant asshole' catagory so I never take their recommendations as being vaguely sane. Perhaps the mother actually thought briguy was able to make good judgement. I dont think the mother was in the right at all. I think Briguys attitude after the fact is out of kilter with reality. Coming to the US requires removing several higher mental functions, especially in the humor department. They are seriously clueless. If ever you are entertaining Americans just throw out dickjokes and hold their hands when going towards a joke. For gods sake dont attempt anything that isnt wearing it's own clown shoes, or they'll either miss it completely or get amazingly offended. This is really a subject where I could plumb the depths of my vitriol and contempt, but I wont. I'll just fire up the BBQ again. edited to add: yes, ripoff artist and a whore. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

start with an electric. Acoustics are for people who dont like feedback. Based on the fact you're going to suck when you start the ability to create raw noise can be a good motivator, unlike an acoustic that simply sounds like shit until you can play it properly. (btw, self taught guitarist of 20 years, bought my first acoustic 5 months ago due to aging). TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

yeah...just don't bother. What kind of parent wouldnt review 600 minutes of material herself so her child could watch it, especially if it was recommended by a coworker she assumes has a fully functional brain. "some gore and violence" vs "exploding bodies" == slightly different in the parental callibration center. Letting my 9 year old watch a pg-13, thats a 'some gore and violence' style question. Letting her watch Zombie Flesh eaters isnt the same question, even though she likes zombies and monsters. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.
