Thank you everybody. Your support got me through what might otherwise have been a traumatic experience. They want me to go back a couple more times for cleaning and some wisdom teeth pulling but it's great to know that I'm not alone in my fear of the dentist and the pointy thing (called 'the explorer', apparently). Thank you!

I figured you didn't. While most of the guys bounce around like they're indestructable I think the people on this forum understand more than most the reality. Wrestling hurts - just because we pretend its fake doesnt make it not hurt. Stone Cold Steve Austin - undoubtably the most popular wrestler in it's history - can barely walk because of the constant punishment. When the music hits and he's in front of people he swaggers and you'd never know it. Thats why (for anyone thats seen him in recent years) he drives that ATV to the ring now.

Actually that's japanese wrestler Hyabusa - pretty much a legend in the business from both the fans and workers perspective. That was when he mistimed a move and broke his neck, paralyzing him from the neck down and ending his career. But wow, what a funny clip!

While I hesitate to contribute to a thread of this sort I would suggest Lifeforce as being a strong contender. Here. How could anyone forget the scene where the completely naked young lady walks out of the hospital after all the windows explode. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

I thougth my method was simpler than how you're setting it up. Like this: day=`date +%a --date="yesterday"` month=`date +%b --date="yesterday"` Or you could pull in the full date string as above and use awk for the fields, really depends on your concept of simple I guess -

Why not just get the previous day using date date --date="yesterday" TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking. -

Funny! I have a shop vac. It's the only way to get dog hair out of the carpet properly, otherwise it ends up all over your clothes, and I like to wear a lot of darker colors so it tends to show up quite easily. I'd considered getting a powerwasher, but not for in the house - it was to wash the car with. But now I live in a condo and the hose isnt long enough to run out the kitchen window to the car. The shop vac is awesome though!

Thanks guys, but really. there's nothing to save. I reflected a little on my behavior here and I realized that without any context that many of my posts here could be construed as offensive or even a little dark and twisted. Part of that is simply that I was overly selective in the topics I posted and the discussions I contributed to. Rather than continue down that path and continue to be misunderstood I figured that it would make a lot more sense to be a little more honest in my posts. No satire, no joking. Just trying to be human. I realize how small the skydiving community is and it struck me that as a husband, father and human that I should share a little more and be a little more upbeat and positive. I'm sorry my previous comment was inappropriate. You could try counting to 20 and smiling. Going out for a cigarette is a very good idea as it will give you some space and allow you calm down and not react on the spur of the moment. Sometimes being impulsive can have long lasting negative consequences. You did the right thing in this instance. You go girl!

Yes PLFExpert. I do the same thing, but you know how it gets after a few weeks of crumb and fat buildup. Suddenly there's smoke pouring out of the oven every time you put it on to preheat. Manual dexterity and I aren't that well aquainted.

I have one of those freaking HUGE fridges that would kill me if it tipped over. And I'm not sure I trust my wife to not have rigged it to do exactly that. It's a great idea though. Thanks Skymama!
