No prob Snow, but you might get more screamers than kickers at a DZ. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

$3000 a month for that kind of work??? Sheeesh...talk about underpaid. There is a lot of urban legend about the CIA being involved in drug trafficking to finance covert ops. Check out Vortex's DC 6 flights. I think most conspiracy stuff is BS and it is hard to imagine carreer govt service folks immersing themselves in such a tawdry business, but who knows? The CIA went FAR FAR over the ethics line in MK Ultra. Bruce, Snow, your thoughts on this drug stuff? http://whatreallyhappened.com/RANCHO/POLITICS/MENA/dea_contradicts_north.html 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. The round cargo items I don't recognize. Fuel containers? Actually they resemble the Skip Bombs used by British bombers in WW 2 to take out the Ruhr Valley dams. I have made several jumps from an AN 2 "Colt" biplane and am a charter member of the AN 2 Jump Club formed at WFFC. The Feds grounded the plane for commercial jumping so we formed a club and paid dues. The jumps were free and the Feds were pissed. It was an anemic climber but really fun. The interior was like a rail car with hat racks, hanging straps etc. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

I can ID a lot of the gear in that great interior shot Snow, MG 149H and another type of 28 VDC to 110 VAC 400 hz rotary inverters and what looks like a Collins HF xcvr, possibly a 618T. You and Georger wouldn't like the 618T. 1.0 KHz steps, no in between. USB CW AME and RTTY. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

There is a great drone photo taken while overflying an AA battery around Hanoi at very low altitude. You can actually see the startled soldiers looking right up at it. Can't find it but I bet Snow can. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Looks like a C 123 Snow. A rigger would have to ID the rig, but it is not an NB 6 or NB 8. Note the UNFASTENED chest strap? On second look maybe he is just donning or removing the rig. I've seen skydivers leave chest straps unfastened on the ride up for comfort? machismo? A bad bad idea. A young women at Lodi died when she deployed with an unfastened chest strap and left the rig behind. Keep these aircraft shots coming! That single engine plane is a T 28. You can buy one for about $250,000 all tricked out. A stock one can be about $100K less. C 123s go for about $250K up in ferryable condition with mid time engines. Less for hanger queens. One was purchased in FLA last year for back country cargo work in AK. C 123s can handle gravel airstrips. It has had numerous mech probs on the way north and still has not arrived in AK. Jim Blumenthal owns a C 123K that he uses for government and movie work. It is based in AZ. He flew me in his C 54G at WFFC 1999 in Quincy. We talked about planes a lot. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Those "metal things" on the C 123K are turbojets. With only the two R 2800 radial piston engines the C 123 was thought to be underpowered. The jets really helped on takeoff and climb. For a while there was a surplus K stationed at the Goleta CA airport rigged as a fire tanker. On takeoff the sound of the firewalled piston engines and the roaring whine of the vintage turbojets was a real acoustic treat... at least for 377. It was a horrible racket to normal people. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

WHAT IS THE ___ DATE ___ of Fazio's observation? BEFORE OR AFTER INGRAM'S FIND? This is a guess of course but isn't it likely that Fazio saw what he saw AFTER the Ingram find? If it was before, wouldn't the Fazios have called the FBI or closed the area and started their own treasure hunt? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Great post Georger! Either my memory is shot or there are some pix I have never seen before. Like you and Snow, I am trying to figure out how to square the Fazio surface fragment field recollection with what we see in your photos. Looks like there was a lot of excavation and sifting work done at Tena Bar trying to analyze the money find, quite a bit more than I thought had been done. Surely the FBI must have detailed reports on the operation, more than we outsiders have seen. Tom must have searched the files. Wonder what he found? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. The congressional oversight committees make it too hard to pay civilian operatives in cash, so the Spooks and FBI barter stuff instead. They offered SF HALO gear but that big military stuff is so yesterday. Free Ft Bragg tunnel time works out better for everyone: no hard assets to trace. That's how I get compensated for my job keeping Jo in line. Jerry, how are you paid? Nice bunker Snowmman. The quantity of arms suggest you are not a one man show. The thought of an army of Snowmmen gives me pause. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Wow, some big Sturgeon! Thanks for the info Snow. We have them in SF Bay too, a few HUGE old ones and a lot of younger 4-6 footers. Nice to see you and Georger engaged in a reasoned discourse on tides, flow and Tena Bar stuff. That flow reversal info is interesting, with the phenomena extending a lot further upriver than I expected. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Jeez... starting to get a bit paranoid there Jo? Jo, That is a pretty serious claim. If Jerry truly has been tasked with silencing you who gave him the job? Does he get paid? Why must Jo be silenced? My job is to hold you to account on your statement that Duane Weber was Dan Cooper and that you would share your proof. Neither Jerry or I are very good at our jobs. We may get fired if we don't show better results. Jo, nobody has a job to silence you. That is delusional thinking. You and Jerry just don't get along. That's what Occam tells me. I still welcome your posts but I am thinking more like Orange these days. You can easily change that, but I doubt that you will. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 1) If it comes from DZ.com, it's wrong. 2) Unless it involves comic books; then it's right. 3) Tom Kay is the lead Citizen Scientist. 4) But ignore what he says on TV. LOL, literally Snow. I can see one you missed using my image convolver algorithm and best match mask: 5) Get some dirt on Snowmman, before he gets some on us. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Seller says: "THIS IS THE SAME MODEL HALO HAT USED BY THE LIKES OF THE LEGENDARY FRANK NORBURY DURING MACVSOG (VIETNAM) CROSS BORDER HALO INFILTRATION JUMPS." Legendary huh, let's see what Billy W says about who is legendary. http://cgi.ebay.com/SKYDIVE-HELMET-SF-HALO-FREE-FALL-PARACHUTE-w-COMMO-ELEC_W0QQitemZ280378791151QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item4147e0d4ef&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 Very pricey! Not being legendary or aspiring to such, I think I'll stick with my 68 vintage Bell 500 or a cheap Protec. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

His main is a steerable one, looks like a T mod. I think S/L paratroopers had non steerable canopies, but not sure about gear in SE Asia. 377 Yeah, the Thailand thing is interesting. The pics were posted on a SF page, so I assume the guy was SF. He must have trained or been stationed in Thailand for a while, then joined a Mike Force in Kontum. Those Mike Forces look like they were loaded for bear. Impressive weapons (did you see the SAW or whatever that was with the bipod) Those MF weapons are scary, but so are yours and yours leave no trace. How is the EMP prototype coming along? Using 256 of those two farad car stereo capacitors was a great idea. That terrain in the "two out" shot looks like a very rugged LZ, but you can't see the ground below which could be flat and surrounded by those awesome cliffs. Even if we dont solve the Cooper case I am learning a lot of new info about the Nam war here which is highly interesting. I still wonder what the FBI has that allows them to instantly disregard candidates like Sheridan Peterson? Any guesses? Or do they just shoot from the hip based on preconceived unproven theories about who Cooper was? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

The FLYING HELLFISH, a drinking group with a skydiving problem, showed up at every WFFC meet with a well stocked tent including all sorts of "inflatable aids" used by skydivers prominently displayed. Some local townspepole were quite offended. http://www.theflyinghellfish.com/rantoul.htm I lurked on one of their raft dives watching it from a safe distance. I knew how much those guys drank the night before and decided that it was wiser to be a spectator than a participant. HELLFISH really know how to party hard and work diligently to keep their top ranking. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Welcome back Orange! We missed you. Landing miles out? Surely you jest. Bet you never land more than a few steps from your intended target. When I was an S/L student I got dropped through a solid overcast that had closed up after takeoff. The pilot and JM were certain they were over the DZ. I should have balked but I didn't know I could, and besides. I had paid for the jump and there were no refunds. If you took off, you paid. When I broke through I was so far from the DZ I didnt recognize ANY landmarks. A farmer gave me a long ride in his truck back to the DZ where they were really starting to freak out. Did you see the National Geo show? Worth watching but they were far more interested in entertainment than logic or accuracy. I am not optimistic about it serving as a beacon for new people having relevant evidence. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Exactly what I thought Jo until that pesky Snowmman dug up facts that showed that commutations/pardons were being handed out in massive quantities at the time. Unless you think that this was done as part of a conspiracy to mask Duane's unlikely commutation in a sea of similar clemencies, you just have to conclude that Duane was at the right place at the right time and got lucky. You have to let go of conspiracy theories when indisputable contrary facts are presented. The ET UFO crowd and alien crop circle believers have a really hard time letting go, but I don't. Sometimes the fantastic becomes mundane when you dig deep enough. It isn't fun, it can be a huge emotional letdown, but you have to let go. Otherwise, you can be accurately classified as obsessed. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

I think he tossed the bomb stuff before he jumped. Whether he kept the briefcase is an open question. I dont think it would float for long if it went in the water. It would be easy to test. There is Cooper stuff out there just waiting for somebody to find it. The bomb, the briefcase, and the rig are out there somewhere, Snow wonders why Jerry thinks he will be the person who finds it. It is just optimism. When my son was about three and a half he used to "search for treasure" just walking around with me on the sidewalks and in parks. He was 100% sure he would find some. He actually did find many coins that escaped his parent's attention. Jerry's chances are very small, after all he is just one person searching a huge area for items that are almost certainly highly obscured from a visual standpoint. I do admire his optimism. Nothing wrong with optimism. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

http://www.marylandmissing.com/images/Ellis.pdf If the FBI really thinks Cooper died on the jump they should have put most of their energy into investigating people who went missing around that time. I have thought long and hard about the proposition that someone like Cooper could disappear and not be missed and I no longer believe that is a likely scenario. Cooper wasn't a homeless drifter type. I think he had social connections. If he died someone would miss him. Someone would connect the dots, unless that is, he was domiciled abroad. That changes the equation. A disappearance from a foreign home could be equated with simply staying in the US. Orange found a guy who went missing in the Pacific NW area around the right time and who generally fit the desription, but there was nothing linking him to the crime. Orange herself has apparently gone missing. Orange1, please report to manifest. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
