  1. What about a structured method for both? 3.0% beer when you are 16, 5% when 18, the hard stuff when you are 21. Strict laws regarding minors under the influence. I see too many people turn 21 and just start slamming shots, without having ever been drunk before, and this is very dangerous. I started making my own beer before I turned 21, and I feel like it gave me some respect for alcohol. Same with guns, you could have 16yos allowed to own .22lr pistols and rifles, if they pass a special class teaching them gun safety. Take a class to own a handgun at 18. The thing that makes me most sick, is when people are totally frightened beyond belief when they see a gun, or hear that a gun is nearby. Same thing with hunting. Just like cars and alcohol, you gotta have respect for the stuff, and it is better if it happens at a younger age (to an extent). P.S. Fuck California for it's gun laws, alcohol laws, and driving laws. Ugh.
  2. Skydiving is about learning to fly your body. Your goal, as a skydiver, is to learn to fly your body. Tunnel rats learn to fly their body more cheaply, can log many more minutes of freefall in a day than you can, and best of all, have someone better than them only feet away giving them expert instruction. Skydiving>Skydiver>Body Pilot Tunnel time>Body Pilot Personally however, my money is better spent skydiving. I do not compete, or care only about perfecting my body piloting.
  3. Yeah but what about line twists? You won't fight em for more than a few seconds regardless?
  4. I was just watching a video of a whole pig going up in flames from a grease fire, what a bummer!!!
  5. I guess you are right, it would be considered almost a suckling pig. I have done whole shoulders a number of times with excellent results, and can operate my smoker at a constant temp for the most part, everything seems to turn out alright. That is why I was thinking of getting the pig in the smoker, I should have better results than making a grill, spit, or digging a pit. I may end up doing shoulders again, I could always fit more stuff like a corned beef and some ribs. (smoked corned beef=pastrami)
  6. I was thinking about smoking a whole pig, anybody done it? I gotta have some good food to go along with my keg of IPA... hahaha. I have a fairly large standard smoker, I think I could probably fit a 30-40 lb pig. I could also get some cinder blocks and make up a large grill of some sort if need be, as well.
  7. My cop friend who was working the accident texted me around 2am, and said "there are bodies everywhere". News is saying 4 dead and 50 injured, but that will go up obviously.
  8. Not bad. The idea of total destruction sounds kinda cool actually, except for people getting hurt and all that.
  9. Who knows. It is either never going to happen, or tomorrow. Edit to add: 53+ houses destroyed, like 100 damaged.
  10. Yeah, it would be like this times 1000. Shit.
  11. Yeah it was billowing flames big time, like 60-80ft in the air, it was a lot of volume.
  12. Well, your article said 24", I heard 16". Regardless, it was burning until just about 20 min ago, just houses burning now. Man, I am looking at the TV now, gotta be 30 or more houses burned down. If anyone is from the area, the hospitals are requesting type O negative blood, I think they have enough for the night but were asking people to come in tomorrow morning if possible.
  13. Yeah shit is crazy over here. That article is very informative, the news over here doesn't know crap really. Looks like 25+ homes burning, or burned completely already. My friend called me from right near there, sounds like there are borate bombers dropping on the fire, as well as choppers. Lots of people homeless tonight
  14. Do you know where you are shooting relative to the clay? What about going at night, and coating the clay and your shot in glow stick liquid, sort of make it like tracers. Once you know where you are shooting, it is just a matter of making adjustments. Which clay is it? You are in the far right position and it is coming out of the high or low house?
  15. If you are in a biplane, there is no need to chop. If it is in a downplane, there is no need to worry about the main fouling the reserve, you are going to pound in if you don't cutaway (your course of action is set). If you have a stable biplane, I wouldn't be trying anything crazy, just gentle inputs. Take a look at the canopies, if the taller one is in front, you should have no problems. If the taller one is in back, then you might be headed towards a downplane. Regardless of altitude, if I get into a downplane, I am going to chop (why wait?)
  16. Uh, not quite. If I am not mistaken, some of the longest range rounds available right now, like the .416 barret are 100% copper. Round of this size are a poor comparison to standard hunting rounds though. You don't have to look any further than good old California, if you want to see lead free ammo. In the middle of the state, we have what is called the "condor region" where lead ammo is banned, because California condors are eating animals that have been shot, and getting lead poisoning. Ammo is about 4-5x more expensive, and shoots like shit. I haven't killed anything with it yet, but I am concerned with the amount of energy they are providing. What about a proper jacket for the projectile? You can still use lead, just make sure it doesn't get exposed. Eh, whatever, 100% lead free projectiles seem to be good at taking down condors as well.
  17. I am sorry to hear about your dog. Death gives life value, though, and you are lucky to have had such a great companion. Might I suggest waiting for awhile to hit the bottle, you have someone to hang out with instead of getting drunk.
  18. Man you really got a thorn up your ass from that last thread, huh? Sweet video.
  19. Not that video, but the one I posted before, is on a completely legal stretch of road. Still very very dangerous. I was trying to show that legality has nothing to do with safety. How do you define controlled environment? As I stated before, there are stretches of road where speeding could be very safe, safer than some sanctioned events even. It is up to the driver or rider to make sure that there isn't a danger to other people.
  20. You can always do community service... hahaha. Sounds like garbage though, both of those tickets should have only been 1 point, and at least out here in CA, there is no point x year x $100=fine, sort of junk. Most likely scenario will be a warrent, but with such a small bail the cops likely won't arrest you. If you just tell them you left the state and didn't pay the ticket, the cop probably won't care, but shit man you might have a hefty fee when you return.
  21. What, something like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsNulEYQutI
