Roush was the guy who crashed an experimental into a lake, and by the luck of god, a military diver was in a boat right next to where he crashed, and managed to swim down and save his life. The guy is testing his luck! Haha

Man. 1. The weapon is always loaded 2. Never point the weapon at something you don't want to shoot 3. Never place your finger on the trigger until you are aiming at the target. And of course the dumb ass parents who handed someone unfamiliar with weapons, a loaded gun with the safety off. (If this was indeed a hunting rifle there is a good chance it had a safety) Any of these could have prevented it.

Oh I totally agree with you, I guess boring is a bad way to describe it. "Uneventful" is probably a better word. No more pressure to do anything, just have fun and hang out. Hard to beat it!

Have fun!!!!! Those first few feel really boring, if you don't plan on doing anything. Try your best to do coach jumps, and keep learning. If you can't find anyone to jump with, doing a tracking jump is fun. It is hard to self evaluate if you are backsliding or something by yourself, if you are just sitting there on your belly. Talk to your instructors and get some ideas! Congrats!

I understand he should be on the loads. My question is though, what are they telling him at the end of the day when everyone is free? We are tired? He should be able to get a couple jumps in during the day and several more later.

I was in the same boat as you not too long ago, and picked up a pretty decent plan for just over $100 a month. It is something like you pay everything up to $1500 in one incident, and $5000 in a year. Lots of little stuff is covered though, like simple doc appts and things.

I have had problems with a DZ hot loading their plane in the landing area, and doing a fast 3 or 4 loads. You get on load one, but by the time you are packed load 3 or 4 is full. I understand wanted to save the engines by not shutting down, but waiting until you have a whole bunch of tandems waiting around and then doing them all at once is kinda rough. Big planes aren't always a good thing, at the end of the day when the up jumpers want to put up a load sometimes you can't get enough people together. A DZ with a big plane and a cessna both, is cool. To the OP, are you jumping a cessna? If so, why don't they put you up at the end of the day? Usually tandems start slowing down later.

That is cool! I am pissed off though, I keep trying to get into the chat room to ask questions but the login won't work, so I just gave up. I was going to ask though, what sort of degrees to people have working at JPL? I am sure it is a range, but is it mostly aerospace, robotics, mechanical engineering? If you could ask your wife or know the answer it would be much appreciated. Thanks for the link!

"Trust" is a very wide range. The number of people I trust with my life I can count on one hand, but I consider myself overall a pretty trusting person, it seems like lots of people take advantage of that and I get the shaft, but fuck em they weren't real friends in the end anyways.

Wow! You got lucky. It would be interesting to compare canopies as far as time it takes between line stretch, and the slider beginning it's movement down the lines. Also, I wonder how much speed is bled off with the slider at the fully up position. On my Sabre, it snivels for a little while, but on my old pd 9cell, the slider seemed to be on it's way down immediately. I would think this would make a substantial difference as far as jumping a collapsed slider...

I am heading to Miami in a month, and was hoping to rent a 16+ ft catamaran for an hour or 2. I found one place that has a hobie 16, called MiamiCatamaran, was wondering if any of the locals know of any other spots. For that matter, where are the hot spots on SoBe?

Ok I got the rouge dead guy, as well as dogfish 90 minute, bear republic racer 5, and another IPA that is behind a bunch of other beers. That is just about all the IPAs they have at bevmo, I still gotta try whole foods for more.
