  1. Brewer checkin in. I highly recommend giving Cider a try, it is really easy, no boiling at all. Get a good selection of different apple juices, blend em in the fermenter, add sugar/brown sugar/honey to up the gravity, and away you go! The strongest stuff I ever made (uh, if any feds are watching, because the law says something like 9% is max, and I would NEVER think about going over this, I am simply making it up ala fishing story ahem) was 17 percent. Used a lager yeast until that topped out around 10-12%, and finished with a champagne. It smelled like the hard stuff when i bottled, but after a few months you couldn't smell any alcohol. It was so good! Anyways, start doing some partial mash brewing, and eventually all grain, it is very rewarding and the results are worth it
  2. The "prime" setting means that the fuel petcock will allow fuel to flow into the carbs without the engine running, normally it needs the engine's vacuum to allow fuel to run. It is possible your needle and seat have junk in them, but it would only be a big deal if you left it on prime like you did. Try switching the fuel petcock to the off position, and see if it still leaks. Before you take it to the shop, at least pull the plugs and crank it over (if you dont want to mess with the ignition, you can simple push the bike while in 2nd or 3rd gear, with the key out or ignition switch off). I bet you can get the bike running after without much of an issue, at least you can ride the bike to the shop and they won't charge you as much to pull the plugs etc. Personally, I think you should buy some basic tools instead of letting a shop do everything. Some stuff like doing oil changes, plug changes, coolant, batteries, etc save you a LOT of money after awhile. Common, you can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I agree, the milky fluid has me concerned. Check out the picture on the bottom of this link: http://www.viragotech.com/fixit/mixturecontrolvalve.html It looks like that device is right on top of the valve cover. There shouldn't be anything in the mixture control valve itself, so it doesn't explain the fluid. Check the oil, and check the coolant, let us know what they look like.
  4. If the bike is flooded to the point it will not crank over, it is hydraulically locked, and WILL BEND THE RODS if you force it to crank (bump start down a hill) Pull the plugs or push backwards at least, to clear it
  5. Not familiar with your bike, and not sure what caused the initial milky liquid, but it sounds like when you left it on prime the needle/seat kept leaking slowly, causing fuel to leak out the vent, as well as flood the engine. This is why it will not turn over. Put the bike in 3rd gear or so, and push it backwards, clutch out. This should help clear the cylinders, but if it doesn't want to crank don't keep trying! The best way is to remove the spark plugs, and disconnect the primary (Small wire, not the plug wire) side ignition coil wires and then crank the engine over for a bit to clear it out. Watch your eyes. As for the milky liquid, I would indeed check out your oil and coolant to make sure the 2 aren't mixing, but it seems odd for it to be leaking from part of the carburetor. Keep reading the manual, and look for hose routing diagrams etc to figure out what the part does, and what the liquid might be and why it is leaking.
  6. Hey man, just like beer, if someone drinks bud light all their life they won't know quality if it hits them over head with a sledge hammer. Oh, and lamb good shit, not something to be overcooked. A buddy of mine went to a cooking school, and he made some lamb appetizers that had cranberries in it, what a great combo, try it out sometime.
  7. I don't know anything about wingsuits, but getting stable between red and silver seems like it might take some extra time, and be prone to going unstable, and maybe ending up on your back or something. How long did you wait to get stable? Not talking shit, just honestly wondering. Good work on saving your ass.
  8. Who knows what Nabby will do. I wouldn't mind seeing him go. Blake is officially retired, as of today. They were giving some of his statistics, he is like 3rd overall for shots on net for defensemen, this got me pissed because it seems like his favorite move is to pass the puck to their goalie from a ways out. Ugh! O well, he was a good player, I hope retirement treats him well.
  9. Words aside, that is a hefty cache! Wait, tell me again, where do the American's that sell guns to Mexico pick up RPGs and Grenades?
  10. Now you get it. Hey, if I lived on the border and the Gov wanted to take my land, I would be pissed too. But the fact of the matter is that I would understand why I had to give up my land, and would do so. Shit man, why don't these ranchers buy the land on the other side of the fence for pennies, and offer that for fence expansion? hahaha!
  11. That cat was trippin!! hahahaha
  12. I am 100% about protecting property rights, but sometimes people need to sacrifice a bit. Just about every major city you can think of, has once private property under water, used for freeways, or in parks. It is a touchy subject, and lots of times not justified, but in the case of national security, and stopping a -30B a year burden on the United States, it is absolutely worth it. If you wanna make an omelet, you gotta break some eggs.
  13. There is someone from Cali! Sometimes at Mexican markets you can buy pre-marinated strips of beef, they only take a second to cook and taste great. If you like chicken, try out beer butt chicken. You should be able to find the directions easily, it makes some great and juicy chicken!
  14. How about open border? Yeah, lets REALLY fuck the poor up good, that will teach em for being, well, poor.
  15. Yes I agree, the employers need to be held accountable. Historically this has been a joke though, and another area that needs to be addressed. A good number of employers, especially small business, are actually America loving citizens, and do follow the law. As it stands, they have no way of verifying these documents, and they unknowingly hire illegals. As far as the bank account thing goes, I am talking about opening a bank account, here in the US. Swarrzennegger (not even going to try to spell it haha) and Clinton, I believe, advocated to US banks that they accept the foreign ID card as a legitimate ID, to allow them to open accounts. It wasn't like that before. Fences DO work. They should be installed in high traffic areas, as one of many different deterrents. So they build a tunnel, so what? Tunnels are found and filled in on a frequent basis. The effort to build a tunnel is usually only reserved for drug smugglers, not just your average border jumper. Areas in towns with low fences are such a joke, big groups get together and all jump the fence at once and then run into alleyways, houses, wherever, and thanks to the freedom the American citizen has, they technically should not be racially profiled for being Mexican and are immediately free. This article talks about double wall fencing, and it makes perfect sense to use in areas with dense populations on either side. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5323928
  16. The fence is only a small part of the problem of illegal immigration. Yes, it is highly valuable, and needs to be improved especially in densely populated areas (Nogales, etc). The real problem is the way our system is setup to accept these people. Make green cards and social security cards impossible to forge, and allow employers to verify these documents with a computer during the hiring process. This alone would help a massive amount. Other problems include: SSA's stance of allowing fake SS numbers to pay taxes, and then turn around and collect social benefits (costing the US at least 35-40B annually, but we do collect about 10B in taxes) US banks allowing foreign immigrant ID cards as the only ID required to open a bank account. Sanctuary cities, and other policies that prohibit the questioning of one's legal status.
  17. Why do you say that? The engine will go much longer than that, probably only needing a valve job and head gaskets about half way through. I could see the portal hubs costing some money to maintain, but beyond that most of the stuff on it should be pretty rugged. What is the life expectancy for a prius battery, out of curiosity?
  18. WTF? You throw in 20 bucks and buy 1% of the boat, which after being towed back is sold and you get $40?
  19. GOOD NEWS! She is fine. We have just heard from the Australian Search and Rescue. The plane arrived on the scene moments ago. Wild Eyes is upright but her rigging is down. The weather conditions are abating. Radio communication was made and Abby reports that she is fine! We don't know much else right now. The French fishing vessel that was diverted to her location will be there in a little over 24 hours. Where they will take her or how long it will take we don't know. More updates as news comes in. Updates from her blog here: http://soloround.blogspot.com/
  20. This guy sounds like a grade A piece of crap. Either she knows it, or is pretty ignorant. If she knows it, then don't bother telling her.
  21. I wouldn't tell, but if you must, you might as well leave an anonymous note. Or better yet, leave an anonymous note for the husband, saying that you know, I bet that would help shape him up real quick.
  22. Cool vid. If you haven't seen this one, check it out, it is the real deal, and for me, the kind of stuff nightmares are made of haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrXQbucZUDA
