Bacon. Ha! Haha!! Yeah right. I'm going to make a BLT right now. Because you know, bacon is good for you.

One of the Tandem Masters that jumps at NorCal skydiving used to work there, maybe it would be worthwhile to call them up and see if you can talk to him. They were operating in Cabo when I was there a few years ago, but haven't been back since.

Haven't been able to get a hold of them. Are they out of business? The website is up and doesn't mention anything. Gotta love their prices, it would be lousy if they are no more.

Man you guys gotta stop bring threads back from the dead. I click on the "My Posts" tab, and see a thread lit up that I havent ever seen before, and my very first thought is "God damnit! I musta been way drunker than I thought last night and posting on DZ.com again!!!"

Do you loosen your chest strap after opening?
LongWayToFall replied to skymama's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Don't forget the fatality in SoCal not too long ago, where a very experienced jumper had loosened his chest strap, before attempting to pop his brakes, and found that he had a mal (I think this is how it went) regardless, he cut away and couldn't find the reserve handle. Canopy collisions, as well as spinning yourself up could all lead to cutaways with a loose strap. That is not a scenario I will let myself get into, hence I don't loosen it, and if I did, it would be below my hard deck... -

That was GREAT. Loved it. Thanks a ton for posting!!!!!!! Made my day.

All things aside, I was jumping a pd-210 @ 1.15-1.2 and it was overloaded. Flares were at the limit, and the canopy was not happy. I would never recommend that WL on F111..... Find a cheap ZP canopy like a Sabre 1.

I like your thinking. Right now I am down a 24oz of some fine belgian tripel.

Lots of things going on in the NHL, glad to see this thread back up! Sharks are picking it up!!!!!!!

I'll explain it to you like this. A man is walking down the beach, and finds a lamp. Sure as shit, he rubs it and a Genie pops out. This Genie only gives one wish though, and so the guy thinks about his one wish for some time. He tells the Genie, "Genie, I have always hated flying, and I have always wanted to visit Hawaii before I die. I want you to make me a highway all the way to Hawaii." The Genie contemplates this for a second, and replies to the man "Dude you are trippin, it would be way too much work to make a damn bridge ALL the way to Hawaii. Think of another wish." So, the man thinks about what else he would like, and tells the Genie "You know, I have always wondered how women think. I never understand them. I wish to always be able to know what women are thinking." The Genie replies "So, do you want that bridge in 2 lanes or 4?"

Don't worry, the Koreans have taken care of that enough for the rest of us.

I like your plan. For a vehicle, like you said, diesel would be the bomb. Gasoline will go bad in a couple years, without stabilizer, and gas engines wouldn't be tolerant of shitty gas. The best vehicle would be a diesel with a mechanical fuel injection pump. Most diesels from the mid 90s and earlier are like this. ULTRA reliable, and the pumps can take a beating (not to mention they won't break when you put in shitty fuel). Things you could run your diesel engine on: Diesel (of course) Jet-A, kerosene, basically any oil. My old Ford F-250 with 7.3 International engine (non turbo) had 2 gas tanks, and when I would do oil changes on it or any other vehicle, I would put all the old motor oil into one of the tanks. I would get the engine warmed up on the straight diesel, then swap over to the mixed tank. Even running on almost 25% used motor oil, I couldn't tell a difference, in power, smoke, mileage, etc etc. I would bet you could run almost STRAIGHT used motor oil. This is handy because you could just drain the oil out of any broken down car you see on the side of the road. My vote: M1009 Chevy Blazer. http://www.odgreen.net/cccvehicles/4a.jpg Mechanical pump, gun racks, can hold 5 people plus lots of gear. You could easily put a hole in the roof and mount a machine gun. (happen to own one already, so I am set!! It is for sale btw, if anybody is looking for one) One last tip for your 870: Box magazines. Faster reloading, higher capacity. How can you not like that? http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=984689

People must LOVE their Safires!
LongWayToFall replied to Throttlebender's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What makes you want to stick with the saffire or pilot? Another canopy comparable to the saffire is the sabre2, demo one, I bet you really like it... PS I may know of a Saffire 2 149 with 100 jumps (Blue with orange ribs) becoming available in the not too distant future... :-D PM me -
I hope they don't have the same gas problems that jumpers do....
