Let's just categorize it all as "stupid shit" people do.

I blame Don for the USPA canceling any further diamonds, rubies, sapphires, etc. on our wings. They simply ran out of combinations and it's all his fault. Helluva life, Don. You milked every drop of fun out of your lifetime.
-
I kinda think the same when someone goes to the emergency room with a bottle stuck up their arse. I'm in a mood today. Let's just categorize it all as "stupid shit" people do.

The bigger penis, of course.

True. Maybe just sell certain segments like the movie industry or the Kardashians or sumpin. :)

Many moons ago, the military had a Joint Training Exercise at Ft. Bliss for special operations desert training which included SF, Rangers, Combat Controllers, Recon, et.al. At the local bar, one of their guys squared off with one of ours and our guy said, "WAIT! (and, everyone stopped to listen) He went on . . . "Instead of beating the shit out of each other; I challenge you to a REAL MAN's contest!!' "What say we go outside and rub penis heads and the first one to smile loses!" Billionaires rubbing penis heads.

Taxes are not the only form of government revenue. But, to your point. I say we sell California to the highest bidder - debt problem solved. (That is "IF" someone would buy it)
-
Wow. You can't have it both ways, Winsor. Do you want to fund blacks and Latinos for life or ensure they get a good education, so they CAN fund themselves and increase the tax base. No change to taxes. Instead of by district/county - the state collects up ALL the revenues from taxes and every school [in that state] gets an equal amount - and an equal opportunity for a decent education. https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2020/11/02/how-redlining-still-hurts-black-latino-students-public-schools-column/6083342002/

Holy Shit. Slappie in the house. It's been awhile. There's still quite a few that attend class regularly, but many more who peek in on occasion just to say hello. The format changed a couple of years ago, some think for the better, others not so much, but there is always resistance to change when it comes to technology. Hope you're doing well and I'll let the others speak up when they open the door.

You're doing the same thing here as you are to CRT. Quoting what others have said, that others have said, and it is incorrect. It was translated incorrectly. Got to peel back the layers and go to the original source, Brother.
-
That is incorrect. "Begging the Question" is petitio quæsiti Sorry, I have one of those pesky social science degrees. Never mind. It really doesn't matter.

"The problem with using the terms “hard” and “soft” is that they are often misinterpreted. “Hard” science is often misinterpreted to mean that the discipline is more difficult or that the methods are based on true scientific principles. This can make people believe that “soft” science is wishy-washy and ideological. The truth is that any scientific discipline, when practiced properly, is hard. The scientific method requires hypotheses that can be tested using proper control groups and carefully designed methods. The difference between a chemistry experiment and a human behavior experiment is that it is easy to put chemical mixtures into positive and negative control groups. It is not so easy to find human beings that conform to the design of the study. The bottom line is that to further any scientific discipline; hard or soft, it is critical that the scientist do her best to follow the scientific method. The most difficult part of any experiment is interpreting results. Confidence in conclusions depends on design study." ~Karen Reece, BS, MS, PhD Over the past two years, I too; have recently found myself in that situation and am only "walking" in the past three weeks. It has been a humbling experience fraught with frustrations and anger - at myself, at the world, etc. But, you probably know this. [EDIT] And it "woke" me to the plight of the handicapped. I used to think that I was being helpful by opening the door or offering to help in some way . . . What I never realized was that I was constantly reminding them that they are handicapped and that I was more fortunate. I'll let Oscar Pistorius, Ryan Raghoo and Sir Philip Craven share their thoughts with you on the matter. You asked for a couple of resources of whom I gave the original authors of CRT. You skimmed the attached article and found something to attack and support your ingrained thoughts on the subject and appear to have stopped there without reading more. Peek and You and I used to sit at the WFFC in the evenings and have long conversations about safety and the direction of skydiving at the end of the day. I remember you as being more receptive than rigid. I feel pretty safe in saying that you don't really want to learn more about CRT as much as you just want to argue by using references and talking points from those who support your position. And, you have a right to your opinion, so we'll just leave it there.

Now, let's reframe the discussion from race to those disabled. That "Social Construct" comes from the term, "intersectionality" within the social science. "Intersectionality is a concept that enables us to recognize the fact that perceived group membership can make people vulnerable to various forms of bias, yet because we are simultaneously members of many groups, our complex identities can shape the specific way we each experience that bias." Do you look at the disabled in the same way they look at themselves? Can you empathize with the way in which the disabled experience the world of physical and social barriers?

It would seem there IS a process to report such occurrences other than throwing shit out on social media. </sarcasm>

Morning, Winsor The following is a good overview of what you seek: https://www.americanbar.org/groups/crsj/publications/human_rights_magazine_home/civil-rights-reimagining-policing/a-lesson-on-critical-race-theory/ Any of the authors listed in the article are worth reviewing - "The originators of CRT include Derrick Bell, Kimberlé Crenshaw, Cheryl Harris, Richard Delgado, Patricia Williams, Gloria Ladson-Billings, Tara Yosso" with Derrick Bell and Richard Delgado being the key authors and beginnings of CRT. "Race, Racism and American Law" by Derrick Bell 1973 "Critical Race Theory: An Introduction" by Jean Stefancic and Richard Delgado was written in 1995, but not published until 2001. I believe both are available on Kindle if that's a preference. I choose good old fashioned hardcover books. Note: I studied TQM in grad school. My thesis was on it and I got to speak with Dr. Deming on more than one occasion before he passed. There's what he said TQM was and then there were those who turned it into profit. Like what I said earlier in this thread - most are talking about race relations. Bill is one of the few that get what CRT really is. Maybe he'll chime in with some additional authors to review. Be well.

Thank you.

Oh lookie. Another sock puppet from France who also joined four hours ago to bash Icon on this site. How about you [BLANK] write up the necessary report to Icon instead of dragging them thru the mud. I jumped an Icon for years and had no such issue and at that time; never heard of one.
-
So, you joined 4 hours ago to bash Icon? Welcome to the forums and thanks for your valuable insight. Perhaps you shouldn't buy any rig - they've all had reserve issues. Skydiving is not for everyone.

Look, the bottom line is everyone can do a better job of respecting all races, creeds, colors, differences - period. Wanna learn how to do that - go to another country where your race, creed or color puts you in the minority. It's all about respect.

Bill, I read an article where Dubai has used drones to seed clouds for rain using electricity to stimulate the clouds rather than chemicals. Thoughts? Viability? Concerns? https://interestingengineering.com/the-uae-is-using-drones-to-control-dubais-weather Keith

TC = Twit. Effective immediately, I will no longer give a shit if you wind up in the hospital with COVID. You made your decision, now die with it. Oh and fuck you, for not giving a shit about your loved ones. Dr. Brytney Cobia said Monday that all but one of her COVID patients in Alabama did not receive the vaccine. The vaccinated patient, she said, just needed a little oxygen and is expected to fully recover. Some of the others are dying. “I’m admitting young healthy people to the hospital with very serious COVID infections,” wrote Cobia, a hospitalist at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, in an emotional Facebook post Sunday. “One of the last things they do before they’re intubated is beg me for the vaccine. I hold their hand and tell them that I’m sorry, but it’s too late.” https://www.al.com/news/2021/07/im-sorry-but-its-too-late-alabama-doctor-on-treating-unvaccinated-dying-covid-patients.html

Now, you're getting into the depth of CRT. Everything before was race relations. We're not talking about race as socially constructed groups in CRT. We're talking about one group of people only giving another group of people those opportunities and freedoms when it is in their own interests and they have the legal means to enforce those interests. And, let's not delude ourselves into thinking this is a black and white issue. It's about power over others that one group of people . . .
-
Most of what everyone is talking about is "Race Relations; not "Critical Race Theory." In my opinion, "Critical Race Theory" should be restructured into "Critical Respect Theory." Respect for all races, creeds, religions, genders (to include all the LGBTQEPS and gender identification). The starting position should not be all of the inequities of the past, but the way we will treat each other from today forward.

About all I can offer is to start asking and educating my circle.

Please read what I wrote. They are apolitical. They don't have much time for TV and when they do, it's as a family - movies.
