Thanks Bill. Seems like I need to peel back a couple of more layers. In my haste/anger, I failed to ask what the pediatrician recommended.

They aren't from any tribe. They're about as apolitical as one can get. They don't have time with two special needs children. I've said my piece. Help educate others. Don't help. Whatever.

Readily accessible isn't the same as having the time to hunt it down. I've been hawking over this for the past year and still stumble over new information. Most middle-income families spend their day, getting the house cleaned up, the kids dressed, ready for school, throw in a load of laundry, breakfast, work, homework with the kids, TV, dinner, dishes, rotate the laundry, fold the clothes, kids ready for bed, showers, time with S/O comes around 9:00 PM. Rinse/Repeat. IMO we can do a better job of communicating the message WHYs other than - well, if you go do it, we'll put you in the million dollar lottery.

Post trump Legal Actions, Including his Enablers
BIGUN replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
They walk among us. The most eloquent thing he said was, "I don't know anything about it." True Dat. -
BIGUN chuckles. I was informed by the youngest sister two days ago that our other sister went to the ER and was diagnosed with COVID Pneumonia. Huh? Did you guys not get the vaccines and if not, WTF? No, they did not. Why? So, we had a good long talk. For most, it's a very do it; don't do it discussion depending on your circle. They live in a rural state, in a rural area. The most in-their-face information from that circle has been - 1) Not approved, 2) Long-term effects (now we have the myocarditis pointing, see! see!). In Maine, eight people have died with COVID after having received the vaccine. Whoo boy, this is going to take longer than I thought. I've been reflecting since our conversation as to why? There are commercials that just say, "Get the vaccine." But, not the WHYS. So, let's address the "WHYS" of getting a vaccine. 1. Those eight in Maine were in their 80s and yes, they died WITH Covid, but that doesn't mean they died because of COVID. Big difference. 2. Common sense would dictate there've been 2.2 billion vaccines administered with very few side effects. But, there's always been adverse reactions. And, there always will, but the adverse reaction to COVID is >600,000 dead in the US alone. More than all the wars since 1900 COMBINED. Since administering the Vaccine - look at the numbers. We are NOT where we were last year at this time. Check out the 1point3acres website (which has vaccine numbers) or Johns Hopkins and drill down to your county and see what the vaccine has accomplished just in your area. 3. Not Approved/Emergency Use - https://getvaccineanswers.org/question/vaccine-safety?gclid=Cj0KCQjwk4yGBhDQARIsACGfAeuf0was_X1oYvLJlwe56D7_jblY_IUQtipeVlebhbDhFtujAVMCP70aAh70EALw_wcB 4. But, they won't allow it in kids yet - One of the best all around educational materials for this I've found is: https://www.dailybreeze.com/2021/05/30/final-frontier-covid-19-vaccines-coming-soon-for-young-children/ 5. But I've had COVID, so I'm protected - Yes, for now. But, that will wear off by fall and it does not protect you from this new Delta variant. The bottom line for us is, we need to stop calling them stupid and realize they're just ignorant of the facts and the competing messages in the world. Treat them like skydiving students and educate them, so they can educate others. Kinda like skydiving - the message from their circle is only 1) great experience, or 2) I know someone who died/injured, don't do it. Most of them are a two income family, with kids, and other factors pulling on them - in life. We can send a better message than "Stupid for not doing it." Sis is fine. One day of oxygen, steroids, plasma and antibiotics turned it around in 24 hours.

Skydiving (or wingwalking) in a dress?
BIGUN replied to wut-guy-creations's question in Questions and Answers
I'm fairly confident Magali did not start skydiving in a dress. -
I blame Johnson. :)

LoL. They went to the IBM Selectric, then word processors to use WordPerfect 5.1, then computers and everything went into the Personnel Database.

We do have unearned income tax - the issue is the people who can afford an Army of tax folks can figure out how to divert that tax. The only recourse is going to be a flat tax and there's arguments for both sides of that.
-
I'm not arguing with you, or Ken, or even Sky . . . Phase of exploration. I find it interesting. On a similar note; even during the Reagan era, I was a bit baffled as to why they _did not_ tie the supposed trickle down to penalties if that money was not re-invested back in jobs, capital expenses, etc.

I don't get it. Been carrying my card since the first shot. As Jerry & I discussed, we carried our shot records throughout our military career (until computers were used). On that note, just issue everyone an individual QR code of some kind to keep on their phone. Hell, give everyone a Starbucks for producing the QR code and eventually they'll think it's a fookin rewards card.

This posed a question for me. Everyone in the list is Democrat - why slam the GOP. Just how many Billionaires are Democrats? Found this interesting article: Most billionaires aren't voting GOP. https://www.forbes.com/sites/chasewithorn/2020/10/20/even-americas-billionaires-are-tilting-toward-biden-in-the-2020-presidential-race/?sh=7378f1552bb7

Living in Canada - you really don't have to worry about it.

You just keep making my point.

In part because Biden said this: Today, I am calling on Congress to enact commonsense gun law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2021/02/14/statement-by-the-president-three-years-after-the-parkland-shooting/ Blame the conservatives for your inability to settle on a gun-control agenda that focuses on keeping "dangerous people" from having guns, rather than banning guns entirely. Nice game of hot potato. Here, read this please. https://apnews.com/article/366d66c437ab486820e30bec549c4c0b

His exact words were: "I disagreed with many of GWB's policies (especially about Iraq) . . ." That's exactly what he was saying 16 years ago, BUT He did not find Bush to be of self.

Morning, Jerry. I applaud you for thinking outside the left box, but a single round isn't very likely. Most of the weapon manufacturers aren't going to re-tool their factories to "fit" a one round solution. They design/build their weapons for the militaries and police forces of the world.

Aside from his silly comments, it was a 2nd amendment decision. This should be a wake-up call to the liberal left that your strategy for attacking the 2nd is not and will not work and your focus should be on "Well-regulated." One can go out an buy an M2 Browning Machine Gun that shoots 1,300 rounds per minute with a max effective range of ~2,000 yds. Yes, you too can own one of these. But, you cannot own one unless you're willing to fill out the paperwork, lotsa paperwork, get the tax stamps, etc. To own one of these is not only bureaucratically filled with mind-numbing paperwork, but costs lotsa money, and time (talk about your waiting period), and the penalties for not doing it is more time than one gets for murder. The question becomes if for machine guns, why not for weapons that can become machine guns with some easy garage re-tooling. Give a guarantee that you'll leave the 2nd alone in exchange for more regulation like the machine gun tax law. Or, are you guys just going to keep bitching about it on the internet every time there's another incident. The right is NEVER going to do anything about it, cause they're winning.

I know what you meant, but still had to chuckle.

We've been talking about the 2nd Amendment and gun bans. https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/05/us/california-gun-ban-overturned/index.html

I "think" it's going to be very important to tread lightly. Been reading up on it . . . https://www.cnn.com/2021/05/27/politics/biden-trump-china-coronavirus-origins/index.html

Probably the main reason most of us stay in touch on here and have for so long. Sometimes, I think about how it all started as an extension of our conversations at the DZ's and has spanned over many years, subjects, different positions, and ultimately enough respect to listen.
