I may have missed the mark with, "Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation." My intent was to remind that phrase is mentioned more than once in the Constitution and the Commander's "intent" was to have congress develop laws that supported the constitution AND the welfare of the people. If we think gun responsibility laws can't be done, then all we need to do is look at the NFA and understand that is the reason not everyone has a machine gun on their hip or suppressor on their guns. I don't understand these judges overturning laws for gun responsibility, yet allow the NFA to exist. And, of course, as soon as I say that - that too might get tossed out.

No, Phil. The video of Lee was from 2010 when he made the exact same proposal for sunset that Biden did. The difference being; the video of Lee was a snippet of what they wanted you to hear - the GOP is trying to end Social Security et.al. They did not show the rest of what Lee had said in that video about sunsetting them; cause . . . it's all theatre and sound bites. Both sides have proposed sunset legislation on Medicare, Medicaid and the VA. Each side makes it sound like it's bad when the other side proposes it. Basically, a guaranteed funding for the next five years without either side being able to use it as a weapon against other budgetary considerations (debt ceiling). Then, they evaluate the effectiveness, cost, etc. of the program in five years. It's all fucking theatre, man.

There were some errors in his claims of success on economics, job creation, etc. No mention of the border crisis. At all. The "Ban the Assault Weapons!" was theatre. We've had this discussion and all that's going to do is give more fuel to the "Government taking our guns" mantra and isn't a real gun ownership responsibility position. But, we've had that discussion and you know I'm for a comprehensive package. I'm with skydekker on this one. All decorum is out the window. MTG and BoeBoe need to sit down and STFU during a time honored tradition. Course maybe Pelosi set the bar by tearing up the script. Rumor has it that MTG is leaving congress. My suspicion is Santos will be out. In my book, he gets a 50 out of 100 for the SOTU.

He corrected himself less than a nanosecond later by saying more than half the people. People all around the country give speeches every day and make some kind of blunder.
