  1. Can you offer to buy the house with her as mortgage holder? She gets to keep the income and you get to stay in the house. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  2. You are correct on all counts. Thank you for the clarification. I did forget the FAA medical. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  3. It was the double-stows at a sub-terminal opening causing the bag to bounce around more erradically than usual. That's all I'm going to say on the matter. It's your jump. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  4. And, wouldn't a subteminal Hop-N-Pop with double stows exacerbate that bag spinup? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  5. 3 years in the sport USPA Member USPA Coach Rating Tandem Manufacturer Specific I/E Training, testing, & Evaluation. USPA TI Rating requirements can be found in the USPA Instructor Ratings Manual (IRM) which can be purchased from www.uspa.org You would need to contact the BPA regarding reciprocity. 6. Nope. I'm one of those people you hate. Wake up every morning on my own accord to watch the sunrise. I luv seeing the sunrise. New day, new challenges, old friends, yesterday's mistakes are forgiven. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  7. Trained it just like any other animal. Friend of mine got an african lion (500#) (it was a rescue) and we created a large natural habitat for them to be in. Over time. word got out and we were contacted by several zoos. They were shipped to the Cleveland Zoo and last I heard the African lion had died, but Bobby was fine. 8. So, about 15 years ago, I owned a mountain lion named "Bobby." Raised it from a cub. Loved playing and wrestling with the dogs. Fast forward about 8 months and I take Bobby who's now about 90 lbs over a friend of mine's who has a 130# Rottweiler. Bobby's in the back yard with me and the friend when someone accidently lets the Rotweiler out the back door. Rottweiler sees big kitty sitting next to me on its hind legs and charges. Rotty's at a dead run and Bobby just looking at it charging. Rotty gets within Bobby's reach and Bobby raises it's right front paw and smacks the Rotty right in the mug. Rotty goes end over end a couple of times and winds up looking away from Bobby... looks over his shoulder like "Now, what the F%&K just happened here?" Bobby's still on his hind quarters licking his paw and looking at the Rotty. Rotty thinks its best if he goes back to the house. You can't believe the explosive power of an exotic cat till you see it. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  9. Thanks Derek. Your input is always appreciated. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  10. Anyone else getting a white screen browser only? Every other section in Safety works fine. http://www.dropzone.com/safety/Canopy_Control/index.shtml Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  11. Derek (HooknSwoop) has an article recommending against double stows. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/safety/detail_page.cgi?ID=50 I'll ask him to expand on "why" more. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  12. Thru Chicago... it was a mess. Everything was backed up due to weather and the security alert. 10 hours in the terminal trying to get a connecting flight. Got bounced 4 times. United. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  13. I just spent 14 hours traveling yesterday and this is not true. Only the following items were allowed as carry-on: Laptops/Cases - subject to secondary visual inspection (of every compartment) and swabbing. Ladies purses - same secondary procedure. Childrens formulas/food Prescription meds with the name on the bottle along with proper ID. Some travel cases were allowed on the A/C if they had children's diapers, food, formulas etc. All other travel cases were checked at the gate and placed in the cargo hold for pick up at the ramp upon arrival. IPods were allowed, but swabbed. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  14. You'll understand if I kinda keep my distance from you at the next boogie... Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  15. THere's a lady in New Zealand (I "believe") that has tandems in the thousands. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  16. Or, you can tell you're about to have a new story to tell with, "Here, hold my beer; watch this." Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

    Riggers!

It's a trick question, right? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  18. Agreed. One can read Aesop's fables, but it is best remembered by the storyteler who tells them to you. Sounds like tow books. One of history and one of stories. Wanna be an editor? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  19. There is currently an email thread going around from a considerable number of "old-timers" discussing this very thing. It's very early in it's infancy and some suggestions have been to expand on www.parachutehistory.com, create a Wikipedia site for contributors, and perhaps the compilation into a book. My suggestion was to ask HH to block off a section in Skydiving History & Trivia for about 20 contributors for compilation purposes and one editor. It could be blocked from all except those contributing for awhile to minimize the noise (HH did that a few years ago for those scrubbing Safety articles for deployment on dz.com). The hardest task is going to be getting an editor and ensuring the contributors are diligent about growing it. These things have a tendancy to make for great email threads, beer light stories and threads in Skydiving History & Trivia, but trying to get a group organized towards compilation instead of just sharing stories into the four winds will be the challenge. 20. Mykel, Agree with you on this point. It's a PDr and the weight-loading isn't as far over as others. Addtional training on the flare technique for an F-111 might help. My only real concern about the sequence of events was the reserve ripcord handle "was pulled. Apparently, I didn't completely remove it." I'm thinking the reserve ripcord handle wasn't pulled/or properly. Your thoughts? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

  22. http://www.fatcalories.com/ Looks like a triple whopper and large chocolate milk shake from Burger King every day in addition to your regular diet should just about do it in a day and a half. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  23. You must be an amazing woman with a great family to support your desire to make a tandem jump. Here is my birthday gift to you: Any Dropzone you choose to make your next tandem at is on me. I will pay for the tandem jump. All you need to do is contact me through here and tell me which DZ you're going to jump at and I will purchase a Tandem Gift Certificate at that DZ in your name from the DZO. Those on here who know me will vouch that this is a genuine offer. I'd ask my video brothers and sisters at that DZ of your choice to match the offer by videoing Kim's jump in honor of Robert Cook. Happy Birthday, Kim Keith "Bigun" Joe, Would you act as intermediary and pass this along to the DZ she chooses, please? 24. You're really not shocked by this; are you? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  25. It's usually at that point in the video, that I hit the pause button and tell them that's no longer true and a little of the history of why it was in there. They seem to be OK with it after that. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
